The building which houses this spa is pretty simple, however the decor of the spa itself is very warm and relaxing. The owner, Kathy, was wonderful and very good at what she does. I was in pain when I walked in but very relaxed when I walked out. She continuously asked how I was doing and how each method she used was feeling. She has plenty of experience and a great deal of compassion for her clients. If you are looking for a spa that cares, please call Kathy at Renew Age Spa in Oxford and tell her Kevin and Mary Ann strongly recommended her. You won't regret it!!!

I bought a Groupon for a massage with reflexology at this spa (it's not too far from where I live +…read moreI am obsessed with foot massage). I have gotten some decent massages in NE CT, but wanted to try to find a great one. Well, thanks to Heather at Renew, I did! Let's face it, it's a weird thing to meet someone for 2 minutes, then enter a room, strip down, and lay on a table. Well, at least it is for me (to each his or her own). But, Heather made the experience super comfortable. She has a nice energy and I felt at ease. That's all well and good, but her hands, though? Her hands are...magic. She asked for my pressure preference, checked on my comfort, and had at it with my knots. I was locked up pretty good in my shoulders and hamstrings thanks to a new workout routine. When I left, my muscles were loose and my tension was gone. The outside looks like what it is - an old brick professional building. I thought it was pretty cool, actually. Then, I was impressed with how inside the spa was decorated. It was gorgeous! I loved the colors and details in the massage room. I completely forgot I was essentially in a small office building. So, if you are in the general area and need a great massage, check this place out. The rates are reasonable even without a Groupon. I'm looking forward to booking my next appointment.

Everyone there has a different technique - some better than others - but they all do a good job and they don't jip you on the time. Even when the buzzer goes off they still finish up whatever they were doing and then send you on your way. Prices are by the minute and in five minute increments starting at 10, which is $10. I always go for $20 because I can't justify spending $30 on a chair massage when I can get a groupon for an hour-long ACTUAL massage for that price, but I know I want more than ten minutes. They also do foot massage which, if you can get over having your feet rubbed in the middle of the mall, is amazing and a great relaxation at the end of a tough day. Make sure you get a punch card -- you get a punch for every 10 minutes you get a massage. After 10 punches you get 10 minutes free!

I was the first appointment of the day, and…read morealthough it took a while before she started, she did a nice job and focused on my pain point which is my lower back. I haven't had a hot stone massage before, but was recommended to try it by another masseuse for my back pain. The hot stone felt like hot oil gliding across my back, but I felt considerable relief after the massage. She used essential oils all over my body, and that definitely helped. At the end, she offered me some chocolates to go and the overall price for a massage is very reasonable. I booked an hour massage for $80, and it was well worth it. I would definitely recommend and return again in the future.

Mixed Experience - Great Massage, But Pricing Was Misleading…read more I made an appointment over the phone and spoke directly with the owner Sonja. I asked how much a 2-hour massage would cost, and she told me $120. She was very friendly and accommodating with the time slot I requested. On the day of the appointment, her sister Lisa was assigned to do the massage. Lisa did an excellent job--the massage itself was relaxing and professional. However, when it came time to pay, I was told the cost was $160, not the $120 I had been quoted. I explained that I had spoken with the owner, but Lisa said, "Oh no, you had a 2-hour deep tissue massage--that's $160." I was surprised by the $40 difference, especially since I had only brought $190 with me. I ended up giving a $30 tip and left, but I felt misled. I even took a photo of their posted prices: 30 min - $50 60 min - $80 90 min - $110 Based on that pricing structure, a 120-minute massage should logically be around $140, not $160. This inconsistency is the reason I'm writing this review. I've referred this place to many people because of the quality of the massages, but this experience has made me lose trust. I will never go back! I hope they clarify their pricing and ensure better communication moving forward.
