The atmosphere in his office is so upbeat and positive, it makes you feel better just to go there. But of course the greatest benefits are from his treatments, with his magical fingers that just get into the places that ache and heal them. Since going to Dr. Jeff I can feel a difference during my daily activities: When I'm driving, it's much easier to turn around and look out the window when I'm changing lanes, my neck feels so much looser. My lower back pain has gotten much better, I feel more energy and, really, my vision seems to have improved. I look forward to the continuing ongoing changes, 'cause I'll be back!

The problem is that none of the tests or examinations may reveal the cause of your neuropathy, nor may any of the treatments work at all on your specific type of neuropathy. Even if you have some abnormal labs Dr. Listiak is unable to tell for sure if that is causing your neuropathy. In my case I received no benefit whatsoever from the treatment, and no insight in to the cause of my condition from the labs or examination. She is not personally familiar with my medical history or my previous conversations with him. Dr. Halim initially diagnosed my back issues as a muscle tear. He ordered an X-ray, but when I came in to review the results, I was assigned to his PA, whose diagnosis was different. They ordered a CT scan, and when I returned to review that, I was yet again assigned to the PA. Then they ordered an MRI. I had the MRI done on a Friday. After another weekend of dealing with the pain, I called Monday to make an appointment to review the MRI. I thought I was being completely reasonable in requesting to see my actual doctor this time. I hadn't been able to talk to or see him since the X-ray or CT scan, and I wanted to discuss the results of all three tests with him. This is a big deal--not only the three large kidney stones, but also the other unrelated pain I've been experiencing. It has been horrible. When I called, I specifically told the receptionist that I needed to see Dr. Halim rather than his PA. I was told, "I can't guarantee that you will see him." I explained that I was in a lot of pain and had been jumping through all these hoops and taking all these tests without ever being able to see my doctor. The receptionist put me on hold for several minutes, apparently to speak with Dr. Halim. She came back and told me, "Yes, Dr. Halim will see you Friday at 10 AM." I made the appointment and double-confirmed before ending the call: "So, you're telling me that if I come in Friday at 10, I will for certain be able to see my doctor this time?" She said yes. My point today when calling was that since nothing was done for me on that visit why should I have to pay. I was told I'd be meeting with Dr.Halim and going over my disability paperwork and none of that happened. The manager at Lake San Marcos got very irate with me, kept cutting me off not letting me speak and then hung up on me after reading the notes that Katie left that were never discussed with me. I'm writing this review to let patients know to go over all bills from Dr.Halim's office and Lake San Marcos Family Medicine and ask for the notes from your visit. My concern is that they are billing for things that that aren't actually doing. Be very careful and cautious.

Unfortunately, my experience with the doctor was different. I came in years ago while dealing with a health issue I had never experienced before. I was understandably very anxious and overwhelmed at the time. I recognize that I was under a great deal of stress, but much of that came from being scared and unfamiliar with what was happening to my health. I was looking for guidance, reassurance, and someone who would listen to what I was experiencing. I was given certain protocols to follow, and I did my best to follow them as instructed. Unfortunately, they did not work for me and actually caused additional issues. What was especially difficult was feeling that my concerns were dismissed because the same approach had worked for other patients. I understand that a treatment may be successful for many people, but every person and every body is different. When something wasn't working for me, I really needed to feel heard and taken seriously. I'm sure the doctor has helped many people and that others may have had very different experiences. I can only speak to my own. For me, the experience left me feeling unheard and invalidated during a time when I was already scared and vulnerable. The appointments were also quite expensive, which added to my disappointment. I hesitated for a long time before writing this because I don't like leaving negative reviews, especially after so many years. However, the experience had a lasting impact on me, and I still carry some of those feelings today. I hope that sharing my experience can serve as a reminder of how important it is for patients to feel heard, especially when they are struggling or when a treatment is not working as expected.
