I have been going to the Center for Holistic Healing since February, 2016. I've been seriously ill…read morefor the past 6 1/2 years. The journey to this date has been very long! At one point I was near death, remained bedridden for months and have stayed mostly"couch ridden" since March of 2010. I was finally diagnosed with POTS then Mast Cell Activation Disorder with severe multiple chemical sensitivity, among many other conditions. I've seen well over 100 doctors both traditional and alternative medicine in the past 6+ years. At one point I had Gastroparesis, was told a feeding tube wouldn't even help me, was hospitalized over 45 days without answers, had PTSD from severity of my symptoms when I first became ill and nearly died. I had lost 50lbs in 3 months time from malabsorption and my autonomic nervous system was a disaster! By the time I walked into Dr. Schulenberg's office I could eat only 10 foods for the past 2 1/2 years. Anything else would cause anaphylactic reactions. Everyday for the past 2 1/2 yrs I experienced head to toe itching, unexplainable by any doctor. I was unable to take any supplements, herbs, medications etc... without severe side effects and reactions. The list of issues goes on and on, basically I was very very ill. Within one month, I was able to eat 3x's more foods than I had in nearly 3 years! I'm now able to take supplements and herbs that my body needs but previously was unable to absorb them or they caused awful side effects. I'm sleeping better at night and have been able to reduce a highly addictive prescription drug used for sleep that I've taken since falling ill nearly 7 years ago. My digestion is working the way it is supposed to work and I'm able to go to church and to be in public without a mask to protect me from perfumes and other chemical sensitivities! I'm no longer secluded at home 24/7 and can walk longer and be around scents that I couldn't tolerate for more than a few seconds. I'm now 2 months into treatment and seeing more and more positive changes to my health and feeling more and more hopeful that I'll be well once again! Dr. Schulenberg and the Center for Holistic Healing has literally given me my life back to a level I had given up on not long ago! I have a long way to go but to think where I was two short months ago versus where I am now, it's a miracle!!! I can't say enough good things about the staff. Judy is amazing and is always SO helpful, Amanda their contracted lymphatic massage therapist is incredible, Lynn is the sweetest and so loving and kind and Deb has been very supportive with any technology issues. Dr. Schulenberg is the best doctor I've ever met! She's a true God send in every sense of the word and has been blessed with the ability to customize your needs based on your particular issues. She's amazing! I look forward to living my life again for the first time in almost 7 very long years!!! Being a mom the way I want to be to my 13 yr old son and 31 yr old daughter, and a wife to my husband of 16 years. Thank you Dr. Schulenberg, Judy, Lynn, Amanda and Deb for making that happen for me! May God continue to bless you all! And most importantly thanks be to God for leading me to you! I could go on and on, but the most amazing thing I've seen with treatment here versus anywhere else, is that it's been the ONLY thing that's worked for me since being ill in August of 2009. The progress I've seen in 2 months far outweighs anything else I've tried. And believe me, I've tried everything!!! I'm eternally grateful for you Dr. Schulenberg, Judy, Lynn, Amanda and Deb! Thank you!!! * Note, as another poster stated, the treatment, supplements etc... can be quite expensive. But they won't ever recommend more than you need and it's been worth the investment to regain my life!

I'm an RD, I knew I was eating right and getting plenty of exercise and generally living a healthy life but I just couldn't get a handle on my health. At one point I was seriously concerned that I couldn't keep living like that, afraid to eat anything because it caused so much pain that I'd rather starve. Going to Dr. Purdy was a last-ditch effort, honestly, I really didn't know what I was going to do if this didn't work out, and to be perfectly honest I was not very hopeful because if gastroenterologists couldn't figure it out why would an ND be able to? But I was desperate and had to try, and I'm so thankful that I did. I feel like I have my life back now. It didn't happen overnight, it was actually quite a bit of work, but after 3 appointments and some dietary changes over the last 3-4 months I feel like I can live my freaking life again. I'm no longer in so much pain that I just look forward to the next time I get to be asleep so I can have a little relief from it. I actually look forward to the waking hours, too, which is huge. I can't thank Dr. Purdy enough for the help. It takes some work and commitment to lifestyle and dietary changes, but if you're willing to stick it out it's definitely worth the consultation with her to see if she's a good fit for you.

~08-29-22~UPDATE ~…read more 3 months later, and my spouse is finally getting his procedure. I would not come here. But the spouse made this decision based on his orthopedic doctor referral. It's 1:29pm, and I've been listening to these 2 loud AF bitties/patients non stop since 11:15. They have no library voice. We were both on edge upon arrival. And no amount of medication in the "WHOLE" state of Texas could calm my nerves. I even left and got gas, only to return to these 2 loud obnoxious females. They have discussed how their Dad spanked them as children. Welp Paw, I don't blame you, and it didn't work. No common courtesy. And the staff chimes in with these 2. My daughter or son can bring him here next time. I am going back to sit in the car again and wait.

My first meeting with Dr M lasted for more than one hour. During the entire meeting she listened to all of my history, went through all of the daily data log book including my daily intake foods, micronutrients, carbs, proteins, sodium, potassium, calories intake, blood sugar levels, exercise routines, history of my blood reports, etc. She was extremely thorough, patient and caring. At the end of my visit, she worked with me to develop a diet plan that totally suits my life style, additional exercises to strengthen specific areas of my body and suggested certain changes in my maintenance drugs- still a work in progress. In the one week immediately following my visit with Dr Mittal I can already see the impact of her of her advise. My blood sugar levels have dropped almost ten points and my weight is steadily declining. I wish to thank Dr Mittal for her expert advise and level of professional care. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

These are the very qualities Dr. Sattari offers to her patients...and them some. I credit her for giving me my life back after having suffered a brain injury. Not only was her treatment beyond effective, my body healed faster than originally anticipated and it is in direct result of being under her care. Had I stayed with the treatment path my neurologist suggested, I would still be in misery. Dr. Sattari's knowledge of the brain was more extensive than the two neurologists who saw me. I cannot sing her praises enough. She is at the top of my recommendation list ~ and I'm incredibly picky about my healthcare providers. Thank you, Dr. Sattari ~ you're my hero!

Now that I've completed 22 sessions of neurofeedback, I have enough substantive material to write…read morea review. I first read about neurofeedback in a book called, "The Body Keeps the Score," by Bessel van der Kolk. I initially believed neurofeedback was too expensive for me to undergo, but after many sessions of talk therapy and months of another kind of therapy called EMDR, I came to realize that those treatments, although very effective in their own right, were not going to ameliorate a brain fog that I just couldn't shake. So I decided to take the plunge and seriously consider neurofeedback. After a lot of googling and researching about neurofeedback, I contacted three neurofeedback providers in Dallas. I made an appointment for a free consultation at Quantum Holistic Health Center (QHHC) and Dr. Sattari promptly called me to follow up. During the free consult, she asked a lot of questions, answered all of my questions, and gave me lots of helpful information about neurofeedback and QHHC. I spoke to the other two neurofeedback providers I found in Dallas, but Dr. Sattari was by far the most knowledgable and most impressive. She really tailored her comments and recommendations to my individual needs. Despite my reservations about the cost, I was so impressed with her that I purchased a package of 40 neurofeedback sessions a few days after our initial meeting. Before neurofeedback, I struggled greatly with organization and task completion. The idea of organizing my home or a bunch of objects was daunting. I would often lose my train of thought and get confused when it came to starting or finishing a task like writing a long email or doing a new project at work. Now, I think more clearly and can much more easily articulate my thoughts (as evidenced by this Yelp review.) There have been other benefits too. Despite being a naturally outgoing person, I had a lot of social anxiety that has dissipated since I got neurofeedback. I used to avoid acquaintances if I saw them randomly out in public because I was afraid I wouldn't know what to say. In fact, I barely realized I had this avoidant behavior until I stopped doing it. My hand eye coordination has improved and so has my ability to listen and follow directions. I haven't tracked it empirically, but I think I make fewer "silly" mistakes like skipping words when writing emails and making miscalculations while doing simple arithmetic. The only caveat I have is that neurofeedback worked so well for me because I complied with the protocols. I came in for sessions 3-4 times a week religiously, and rarely had any caffeine or stimulants before sessions. Like going to the gym, you get out of neurofeedback what you put into it. I can't thank Dr. Sattari and QHHC enough for helping me gain mental clarity, increase my self-esteem, and feel more in control of my life.
