Worst haircut I've ever gotten. I asked for soft, shoulder length layers. What I got resembled a mullet. I previously had low maintenance straight hair before it was butchered. It was so bad that I had to go to Elizabeth Claire the next day to fix it. My hair is ~10 inches long and the stylist cut short pieces in the back and middle side of my hair that are 4 inches shorter than everything. else. It looks TERRIBLE in pretty much every hairstyle. It is even hard to put clips in because the short pieces fall out. I essentially have bangs on the sides of my head. The hair stylist at Elizabeth Claire felt bad for me and told me headbands would be my friend for the next few months. I actually can't even wear headbands because of those little pieces. It will take me ~ 1 year to grow out this monstrosity. read more

Horrific experience with Jessica Holloway. She cut my hair well the first few times and I praised her talent & gave her between 20-30% tip. Then when I wanted my hair cut differently, I tried to explain how I wanted it cut. She got very offended and insulted, even though I thought I was being nice about it and she still cut it wrong. After all, it is my hair! At one point, she was sooo upset, she started pulling my hair very hard as she was cutting it. The tension was so high and it was very awkward. I tried making jokes to kighten the atmosphere and she wouldn't talk to me. I should have stopped her, told her off, and walked the hell out, but up until this time I thought I had a good relationship with her & even thought we were "Friends", so I stuck it out. I still over tipped her because I didn't want her upset. I felt guilty that she was upset, which now I am sooo angry with myself that I did not tell her off, give her no tip, and leave. Since that time, I refused to go back to her. Be careful and do not think she is a friend. She is out for herself & sadly I've realized she is not a very nice person. read more

After years of struggling with my super fine hair, I found Penny at Headrush 180. I didn't feel at all that she was critical of what I wanted, but instead, very understanding. I've been her client now for over 5 years, maybe longer and I have no intention of seeking anyone else to give me a new or better look. Her advice is always in the clients best interest. It's a very clean, organized and safe environment, catering to each individual. Friendly atmosphere with a family owned business. The products they carry are very good and have helped my hair beyond my wildest dreams. This is definitely a go to place for problem hair or for the best in color and treatment. read more

I have to say, I've never been so disappointed in a business owner as I have been in Penny M., owner of Headrush 180 Salon. After visiting Penny for a few months, I decided I wanted to see a stylist in her salon I had previously been with for several years. I showed her the courtesy of a phone call just to let her know ahead of time. I just received a phone call from her saying my appointment was cancelled, and that they do not "share clients". Excuse me??? What kind of business model is that??? I would think you would be happy for a client to come to your salon regardless of who they choose to see. Sorry.... I think I hurt someones ego. Will never recommend this salon to anyone. Done! read more

I have gone to this hair salon a few times in the past and had very wonderful experiences. But this past time was horrible! I was met at the door by a very rude woman that made me feel extremely unwelcome an I almost walked out of the door then. I knew exactly how I wanted my hair cut when I went in and that was NOT how it turned out! My bangs were cut way too long so that I have to keep them pinned back or they are in my eyes after less than a week! She also cut my hair way shorter than I had asked. I have had many other great experiences there but this last visit has made me not want to ever go back. If you don't mind people being rude to you and them cutting YOUR hair how THEY want then go there. If not, find somewhere else. read more

This is a cute cozy place to get your haircut-- you can also tan here ( I have never done this, but see tons of people coming in to tan when I am there). Penny does a great job on my hair and the price is right! My 16 year old son also gets his hair cut from this salon! Trish has also cut my sons hair, and she has done a great job as well. After recently moving to the Eastern Shore, I needed a haircut. My only experience in my new town was at a salon where my 95 year old MIL loved her shampoo and set. But being of a different generation, i didn't think that type of place would suit me, so I looked for a salon in Easton, which I thought would be more upscale. I was happy to find good reviews and a website where I could book at Saturday appointment online. Melody was nice, and I showed her some pictures of a layered medium length cut that I hoped would suit my thick wavy hair. (It was a picture of Courtney Thorne Smith of her character Lindsey on Two and a Half Men, if you know of her haircut.) I part my hair in several places so I wanted some versatility, but mostly I specified long layers and side-swept bags that would feather back. We even talked about Farrah Fawcett and how no one remembers her and her famous feathered bangs. So i thought she got what I was talking about, but apparently not. The back was well cut, but more like a bob than layered. I can live with that, But, the front and side is I don't know what- but not what I wanted. No layers at all, impossible to blow dry and feather back. I was so disappointed. She blew the ends under when she finished and I couldn't see the cut very well when I left the salon- i have dark hair and the weather was snowy so I thought I'd wait to see how it looked after I washed it and dried it myself. But after doing so, I realized the cut really sucked, I was not about to go back and ask her to fix it- she lost my confidence completely, and because she had cut so much length off (at my request) I didn't feel like there was any margin to play with in order to fix it. So I combed the front straight forward, gathered it like a ponytail in front of my nose, and with one swift cut I created the long side-swept bangs I had asked her for myself. I had been going here for a few years but the last time I went, I decided it was my last go. My last appointment was before they moved locations, in case that has any bearing on things for anyone who reads this. However, my last few appointments I have felt rushed through my appointment, even though I made my appointment ahead of time, and I have been treated rudely by several members of the staff. I typically am a passive person, but somehow I still evoked rude treatment from the staff there. Today was the final straw however. I received an sloppy email from them (poor punctuation, text squashed together and hard to read) basically telling me that they are understanding of cancellations but if you don't give them at least 24 hours notice, they maintain the right to charge you the full amount of your appointment OR if you are late they reserve the right to shorten your appointment and charge you the full amount. I have to admit, I am less than impressed. The same information could have been portrayed in a completely different manner, to make it more palatable, but as far as I am concerned, the tone of the email was rude. Rude staff + rude correspondence = me finding a different salon. read more

OMG i had the worst experience ever ! I was new to this salon and told the receptionist over the phone that i wanted someone who could do a simple wash and style nothing hard at all. Just a trim. First time was ok but than i went back What a mistake that was!!! I had talked to Grace and ask if she could dye my roots/ and pull the color through like my other hair dresser use to do and do some layers and she said of course no problem . Had a pretty good talk with her when i was in her chair the first time and thought i would be in good hands . When i came the second time she got out the bowl and brush but did not separate or do the roots like i have had them done before . She was done in about 10 minutes and i was like huh is this something new?? Well as i sat there she did a mans hair and someone else rinsed my hair. Thank goodness the other women was honest because she did say look there is still grey all over her head. So the other women blowdryed my hair redyed my head and did it the right way . Two dye jobs in one day my head was burning a bit. Grace than came back and rinsed me. She was done rinsing in 2 minutes no lie and i have a head of hair . I knew this could not be right i felt the back of my head and dye was all over the back of my head and side . I told her and she was just oh ok then rinsed a little more i felt the other side and again came back with dye on my hand. I was pretty angry by this time told her to rinse my head good . After that she was blow drying i took the blow dryer did myself and am never going back there again! I wish i did not have to put one star it was that bad and so was the haircut! read more

This was probably one of the worst hair salons I've been to, way back when they used to have a different location and I enjoyed their services then but I went in to get a style done for homecoming, I wanted a waterfall braid, which they knew in advance. Once I got there I told the stylist it was probably a good idea to straighten it a little first because it tends to be hard to tangle, but she acted like I didn't say a word and just continued to do her own thing as she yanked and pulled on my hair for a half hour trying to braid it. She then tried to french braid instead, which she again couldn't do. She continued to say how hard my hair was to work with the whole time, I assume just as an excuse considering my hair isn't very difficult. She did a terrible job once she finally got somewhat of a "braid" in, I left out of the salon with a tangled mess that looked like I had just woken up. I also happened to see a friend of mine and later that night she told me the stylist said the same thing to her when she wanted a waterfall braid. I suggest making sure your staff knows the style before putting the client in their hands!! read more

I wanted my hair dyed the same as my roots & she picked a different color & said "this color isn't as mousey as your natural color". I like my natural color so she insulted me & colored my hair how she wanted. Then, she flat ironed my hair but left it frizzy and still curly? Not to mention she used the thermal spray AFTER she "flat ironed" my hair. Shouldnt a hair dresser know to use the thermal spray BEFORE applying heat? & since my hair was frizzy & not straight, I didnt realize until I got home that it was uneven! Going back tomorrow to get it fixed since they charged me 80 (which would have been fine if I received good service) and I don't have the money to go pay for another hair dresser to do it, so believe me, I won't be charged for the second time! read more
