Came in after 10 days working power-line restoration and Mrs. Genie gave me a mid-fade in 5 minutes. Clean Cut, got my Look Good Feel Good on and revived. Last time I seen that quality of skill was in Puerto Rico where my brothers be black belts in the fade. Haha read more

One thing this is a huge pet peeve is businesses that don't pay attention to their digital footprint and market place. When your hours are listed, and then turn out to be closed when I show up, with no explanation as to why, it chaps me. It tell me you don't care about your customers or potential customers. You don't care about their time and/or money. Will never find out how good they actually may be. read more

I was in town visiting family, and needed a haircut desperately. A quick search found this independent barber shop just minutes away. We had only a brief wait for a chair while the barbers finished up with the clients they were working with. The decor is reminiscent of the barber shops of my youth, with a few hair products on sale, comfy leather char=irs, and even a small pole. The "menu" brought a welcome surprise to my attention - They do straight razor shaves! This is a treat that the majority of shops don't do anymore, but it is a luxury that doesn't compare to any other for a guy like me. Of course, I didn't know they did them, so I passed until next time. The haircut I got was the best one I'd had in years, even though I had a 6-month growth of mop on my head starting out. The stylists (they do a bit more than the average barber) were friendly, and chatty, even as they went about making me look human. My dad got the shave with his haircut, and was just as pleased! The pricing is VERY reasonable, especially compared to what I'm used to paying in the DC area. I even bought a can of pomade to keep up my style! I will have to go visit family in that area more often, if only to keep up with my haircuts. read more

*cash only sometimes* Was visiting the area and was in need of a cut, so I found these folks on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. Went on a Saturday afternoon, and there were no customers waiting. He was friendly, skilled, and cut my hair according to the specs I provided. I arrived at three star rating like this: first, a business has to be AMAZING to get five starts. It was a pretty standard cut and he did a good job -- that brings us to four stars. Deducted one star because the door of the business sports a Visa/MC/Amex/Discover sign, indicating they accept credit cards. When I whipped out my Visa, he said they use the kind of credit card reader that attaches to an iPhone, and it's the boss's iPhone, and she doesn't work on Saturdays. He suggested I use the ATM next door (gas sta), which was out of service. He refused to take a check, and said that I'd have to go down the road to the 7-11 to get cash. It's 2016, folks. Get a real credit card machine or provide your folks with an iPad mini or something to use with your card reader. read more

The haircut was okay, but they say they take credit cards and they don't. When the haircut was finished, they guy told me he can't take a credit card and they don't take checks. My wife had to take dinner out of the oven, drive twenty minutes to bring me cash, and then go home and start dinner again. Very frustrating experience. If you don't take credit cards, you shouldn't advertise them on your front door. read more
