My 1st time at this barber shop but not my sons. My husband been here many times before and respects his barber's Dan work. When I first stepped in, I was immediately greeted and helped by not one but a few barbers, which was truly appreciated. This shop is pretty busy on the weekends. My son desperately needed to get his first haircut, and after asking around to some local moms groups, I came across Tony's Barber Lounge. After calling and speaking to Tony on the phone, I easily made an appointment online as this is the preferred method for scheduling. The day for his first haircut came, and of course, as a first time mom, this was something I was excited about but equally nervous about! We arrived a few minutes early and my little boy was in the chair within about 5 minutes. All of the other chairs were taken. It was super crowded! Always a good sign :) Tony immediately made me feel comfortable with the way he spoke with my son and handled his hair. My son is mixed, so finding someone who is skilled with this type of hair was very important to me. Tony answered any questions I had about his hair and also made some helpful suggestions. The 5150 Barber Lounge is a great place to get a haircut. They've more than doubled the size of their facility, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. My folks live in Sarasota, so I spend some time over there, and if I am in need of a haircut I go to 5150. My last haircut was done by Angie, and she did a great job. I'm going to give them 4 stars. Not that I think they're bad, but I think that anyone can always do better. If I could rate 4.5, I probably would. I've gone to a lot of barber shops in my lifetime, and this is definitely among the best. Top five for sure, and likely top three. I've gotten two cuts from two different barbers here, and my ten year old son got cut here last week. They definitely spend a good amount of time on you...longer than most barber shops will. Cut, examine, recut, repeat... And that's even with a full waiting room. I go at busier times, but not Friday afternoons...and I've never seen less than four others waiting for a haircut. My only complaint is that this place ain't cheap...and that's not even a real complaint - I keep going back because I'm getting my money's worth. I'll be back soon - I need to get a cut every two weeks. read more

The absolute worst experience ever!!! I contacted Tony Snow for about a week to get me in for a cut and he finally replied the following weekend after expecting a text 6 days prior. I showed him my haircut i usually get (even though this was his 3rd time cutting me) and told him leave 3 inches on top and and give me a hard part on the left side. I was told to come in at 5pm and sat waiting until 5:15pm. Then finally started to cut me and was inexperienced with cutting hair and couldn't even find out how to cut the top of my head with scissors. It took him 10 minutes just to come through my hair and figure out how he was going to cut the top. I ended up going home with no hard part in my hair because he walked out of the shop at the end of the cut and the back of my hair wasn't blended at all. Also, the hair on the top of my head was uneven and the hair on the left was 4 inches and the hair on the right was 2.5-3 inches. He told me i owed him $30 after i found him outside on the sidewalk and so i payed him the $30 for the incomplete cut. He then texted me 10 minutes later saying "Bruh... I just gave you an after hours cut and you for real didn't even leave a tip. Never again." Keep in mind i was in the car after the cut changing my kids diaper at 5:51 and my cut started at 5:15pm instead of 5pm. The texts above are me asking me for a refund after being made fun of out at the club that night. I was completely sober and texted him to see if i could get my money back since i drove 45 minutes to have him cut my hair and he basically yelled at me to tip him and then didn't even reply or say thank you when i paid him $10 for the worst cut i've ever seen. I definitely recommend sports clips or somewhere with barbers who have bare minimum experience over him. Still have not received my refund and my hair is still messed up for work tomorrow. read more

It's my second time going after a pleasant first experience. I was disappointing. Haircut took over an hour. Didn't even turn out anything like the first time, despite showing him photos. He took no sanitary precautions for COVID. He got his hands wayyy to close to my face several times. I had a different person this time, but wow was the quality a night and day difference. He lied about my side being a blend of a 1 to a 3 (it's the same length all around). The top was way too short and looked nothing like my first one here. Was in from out of town and needed a haircut. Passed this shop while driving to a restaurant in the same shopping center. I stopped in and asked how long the wait might be, as the shop was pretty full. No wait, good quality haircut, nice straight razor trim, all done efficiently and quickly. The shop was clean and comfortable. Nothing too fancy, but perfectly adequate for a guy to get a good haircut and watch some ESPN on the large tv's that you can see from every chair.
