This is a great barber shop in downtown Sarasota on central avenue. It has a traditional barber shop feel to it. It's recommended that you book before going in, but if they're not too busy they also have walk in appointments available. I've alway been very happy with my haircut from Dylan. Prices run at around $40 which is on par for downtown Sarasota. They're closed Sundays and Mondays. read more

This is a great shop in Sarasota. I go here because my barber moved to this location. It's a real down to earth shop with a high energy staff. With Covid they go above and beyond keeping you safe. It's one of the few places I feel comfortable going to because I know they take all precautions. My barber is "Chris the Barber" and he's been keeping me well groomed for several years now. Got poker straight hair third time he picked up the razor to cut my hair pulled the plug . Watched everybody leaving shop while getting my cut and these people cut down to the noggin . Stopped in this barber shop as a walk-in. No expectations, but looked like a good shop to try since people were in chairs. Tyler was great. Nice clean fade and finished with a straight edge. Especially for the price, I don't think you'll find a better place to get a cut. Definitely would recommend and will be going back. read more

I was visiting from out of town and the hair was practically untamable so I decided to get a little crazy and get a haircut in an unfamiliar city...eh, why not? I found these guys on Yelp and man it was great. They took me with no appointment, offered me a complimentary beverage and bam I was on a chair getting my cut. It was quick and not expensive. New transplant to the area here. I have been looking for a Barbershop since November. Yesterday was my birthday and I was long overdue for a haircut. I walked in to four barbershops and called three others that turned me away as a walk in. I found The Barber on Google maps and call the number. Ismael aka Smiley answered the phone. I told him I was about 15 minutes away and asked if I could come in. He said sure. When I got there, the shop looked like a real barbershop. Guys know what I mean when I say that. It was clean and organized. It was obviously close to closing and Smiley was finishing up a haircut. The other barber was cleaning up and walking out the door. Even though it was closing time Smiley sat me down and gave me the best haircut I've gotten in a long time. He took his time and we had a nice conversation. My wife and daughters said I looked great! Smiley and The Barber just got themselves a repeat client. Thanks for the great haircut and accommodating me on short notice! Definitely recommend this place! read more

I was extremely disappointed. I hadn't had a haircut since early May and my hair was very long and full. I came here, for the first time, because the shop was so highly rated on Yelp and I thought it would be worth paying the extra money in order to get a more stylish cut than I was used to. I told the barber that I wanted to the look to be full and he said that he would just trim it and shape it. After about a half hour (the barber kept the chair angled so that I couldn't see in the mirror while he worked) I was turned around and what I saw in the mirror was shocking to me. He had cut my hair very close to the temples; the top was a little longer than what I had been getting in the past but the rest of the cut was very short - like I had gotten in the past at barbers with less of a reputation I could have saved myself the extra money and gotten my hair cut at a less expensive place, where the barber would have given me a short haircut, no matter what I asked for. read more

This barber shop is a gem in the Rosemary District. I called late on a Saturday because the usual barber that I go to in downtown Sarasota closed early. When I called this shop I was given 2 appointments for that afternoon and one of the barbers agreed to stay a bit late. When we arrived, the atmosphere was perfect for my 7 and 9 year old sons but also for any other demographic. It is clean, modern and very welcoming. Johnny took an hour to give my two mop heads the best haircuts of their lives. These guys were giving the coolest cuts the entire time we there and everyone was leaving with smiles! I highly recommend this shop as a great value with incredible service and warmth to back up their very fine-tuned skills. read more

I've gotten my haircut twice now from the owner Francisco and they've been the two best haircuts I've ever received. Francisco was able to cut exactly the style I described, and his attention to detail was incredible. The hot towel and foam neck shave at the end of the haircut are a nice touch. Poor service. Chris gives a good cut. But bad business practice. Miscommunication on getting my beard done with the haircut and we tried to find a way to do my beard also in a timely manner. Instead other barbers were cutting each other's hair and told me they couldn't do my beard also. But they would rather cut each other than ensure the customer has what they wanted. Pretty sad actually. Definitely see Chris at his mother shop though. read more
