I've gone to Josh for at least five years. He is an excellent barber. Takes his time with every haircut, is quick to communicate regarding bookings and is always happy and engaging. He's an artist! read more

I've been going to Classic Barbers for what seems like forever and I've never had anything less than an exceptional cut with nothing but the friendliest service. I've always had Josh cut my hair and only go to people I trust for my beard care, and Josh has always left me feeling great and looking even better. While I've never had the owner (Jim) cut my hair, he's always friendly and I see that he gives quality cuts as well. If you're looking for a good place with a laidback, classic vibe, no better place than Classic Barbers. read more

jim is the best. great haircut and very attentive to customizing to my instructions!

This barber is the best in town by far, I drive 30 minutes just for him. He always gives the best cuts. Scheduled ahead for a wedding a had on the weekend and he didn't disappoint left me looking for the wedding. Always good convos too love the environment! read more

Not listening/not caring about simple straightforward request. Had a decent haircut from one of the young guys prior, so made an appointment with whom I thought was the same fellow. Instead it was the embonpointe, fubsy owner of the joint who was all stressed out for the day and let everybody share. So, instead of the simple haircut I requested (same style, just shorten it), he dithered around in his stressed state. When I asked him, again, to shorten certain areas, he dithered again. No sense arguing with someone who can really mess you up, so I just bit the bullet and left. read more

Had gone here once before where the younger barber did a great job so when I went again and the owner of the place was available I figured that it would be the same quality if not better. The owner ended up giving me what he depicted as a fade and then offered to trim my beard. Before asking buzzed my neck to make me have a chin strap. Ended up shaving beard and buzzing head the following day. Moral of the story, don't let the bald owner touch your hair read more

The barber was rude. I asked whether I could get a haircut. He said he doesn't do he didn't do haircuts being facetious. He said mostly people get an appointment. He. Seemed that I was bothering him. I said okay, next time I will go with someone who doesn't do appointments. He said you should go now. So I did. He started yelling at me using F$&@ you, and other things and said he did not need your business. I was scared so I didn't say anything. Hopefully you will have more fun than I did! read more

Normally I wouldn't leave a review for a bad haircut.... but a bad haircut because of little to no effort warrants a review. I have a bald spot on the side of my head. I walked in saying it would be a challenge, but I had a haircut on my head that worked. I also attempted to describe a solution. Instead he picked up a buzzer and went to town. Never picked up a pair of scissors once. Just low effort. I can buzz my own head. Sorry guys, was looking for a barbershop to call my own but that chance was grenaded. read more

Came here because another place ruined a pretty easy cut. They turned it around and gave me one of the best haircuts ever. This place is exactly as it's name. Great people, great conversations everyone in the shop. A great classic barbershop in the best sense. Cannot recommend this place enough. Unfortunately I'm only visiting otherwise I would be a regular. read more

I've been here a few times over the years. Always a pleasant time. Most importantly the haircut is always top notch !

Have been looking a good barber in Sarasota/Bradenton area for years. I didn't just find a good one but a great one in Jim at Classic Barbers in Sarasota. Right off US 41 on Bay Rd (Bee Ridge Road West) easy to get to. Jim was friendly, professional and gave me a cut that I wanted to try for a couple of years. He also trimmed my beard to a T so I'm very happy and all for $16.00. He took his time and had attention to detail, right down to a straight edge shave on my back neck. Thanks Jim!! Jim does excellent work. He is thorough and it shows in his work. He stays up on the current cuts and products, and while the shop is modeled after a classic barbershop look, he caters to the modern male. Highly recommended. And tell him Joey sent you. read more

I'm quite a fan of Classic Barbers. Jim was thorough and made sure he went over exactly what I wanted so that we had no miscommunication - he asked to see pictures, and even made sure to stop at different steps in the haircut (sideburns, part, etc.) to make sure I was happy and on board. He was friendly and did a great job on my hair, and Josh was also helpful and friendly. Although I didn't partake in the beverages today, I'm sure they add that little extra touch to really make a cut at Classic Barbers a good experience. I will certainly be going back. read more

I am very picky with getting haircuts and i am very happy i came in and stumbled upon Josh. He took his time and gave me the best haircut i have had in years. I have been to barber shops all around town and i have finally found my go to spot! He did not rush to get me out of the chair and really did an amazing job...i had to leave him a $20 tip! read more

I drive past forty barber shops on the way to get to Classic Barbers. Jim is laid back, great to chat with, and gets it right every single time. If you don't care about your appearance, feel free to let them butcher your hair at Football Cutz or wherever. If you're a man looking for a quality cut from a dude who knows what he's doing, give Classic the chance to earn your business. You won't be disappointed. read more

I'm visiting the area for the winter and needed a haircut. I walked into the shop and there were two barbers cutting hair. The younger barber became available first so I gave him a general description of how I wanted my haircut. I was very pleased with the quality of the haircut I received for $20 and I'll definitely be going back again. read more

I feel as though I got swindled into going to this barber shop by Jim. This is what happened: Jim took the phone number of Dave's Barber Shop. I called Dave's and Jim answered stating that he was the replacement for Dave's after they closed and that I should go to his new shop, "Classic Barbers" anyway, I went in there and Jim was rubbing up against me and told me about how everyone that used to work at Dave's was good for nothing. It was a frightening experience and this man is a fraud and liar. In support of the barber shop community Jim is against everything that is good about a barber shop experience. read more

Had a great first-experience here this week. Been looking for a real barber and found one! Jim did an excellent job on my short-but-not-too short clipper cut: just like I described. Mrs was happy with the cut too = all good. Will be back here every 3 to 4 weeks. Jim says the other two barbers are also skilled. Try them - I doubt that you will disappointed. Did I mention that you can enjoy a cold beverage while waiting? read more

Found this barber shop 4 years ago after trying a couple others. Always a good experience. Ice cold beer and soda complimentary while you wait read more

Just moved in from Pittsburgh and it was time for me to get a haircut. We were in the area and I saw good reviews about this place. So I decided to give it a try. My barber was Matt. Matt took his time with the haircut and it came out great! In Pittsburgh, over the last 10 years, I couldn't find anybody that would use the razor and take their time to make sure the cut was just right. Matt exceeded my expectations and I will be back. The complimentary drinks added an unexpected and awesome touch. Definitely visit this place! read more
