Got a ride from Lynelle who runs this company, and she was very racist against Latino people. Spent lots of the drive talking about how Latino people crossing the border to the US is dangerous (except she didn't say Latino people, she said "illegals"). Very hypocritical given that her entire career is about her love of Mexico and bringing Americans across the border to visit. This made me very uncomfortable and felt like a very inappropriate topic of conversation for a shuttle ride. If this would make you uncomfortable as well I would not recommend riding with this company. read more

We went to Rocky point last year enjoyed our stay and the beach. However, safety issues do exist that you should be aware of. No smoke detectors, building's we stayed at have non. Including co detectors, no fire sprinkler protection. So if you have an upper floor be prepared to jump several stories possibly to the ground. Electrical had no GFI's. Including hot tubs where two people were shocked and one killed the week after we left. Due diligence is required. I would bring a smoke detector with and have GFI precaution double checked if I go again. And stay on the ground floor. Beautiful place just subpar building codes or non. Travel day light only and have alternate personal protection devices, as guns are not allowed In the country. read more

We used this shuttle service: Head Out to Rocky Point, last weekend and were very pleased with the service! This was our first time visiting Rocky Point. Mike, one of the owners, texted me the day before to confirm our pick up time. We were picked up from our home on time, which I greatly appreciate. The van was clean and both Mike (who took us to the Mexican border and then Chris who drove the rest of the way), were very safe drivers. They offered snacks and water. We had a break in Ajo for a short lunch and bathroom break at a local gas station. There is also a small grocery store across from the gas station, to pick up food you might want to have at your hotel. There were other passengers in the van so it was nice to have others to socialize with. On our return home, it was same treatment! Lynelle, the other owner, texted me the day before to confirm pickup time. When we got to the US border, we needed to exit the van with our luggage, walk through the customs office and show our passports to the agent, and then Lynelle picked us up across the border. This was a very easy and quick process. Just like our trip out to Mexico, Lynelle gave us a short lunch and bathroom break at the local gas station in Ajo. The drivers are friendly, reliable and drive safely. I greatly appreciated this shuttle service because they have been going back and forth to Rocky Point for years, so they really knew their way around. Clean vehicles, great customer service, and the price is worth it for the extras you don't get somewhere else. It's approx four hours each way and be sure to note the times you need to book flights to use their service. They pick you up right at the airport rather than off site and multiple drop off options. I was taken to JJs which which is a bit out of town but about 50yrds from my friend's house and that neighborhood which was awesome!! It was incredibly convenient. Fantastic company all around! We had Stephen "the Cowboy" as our driver from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to Vidanta Mayan Palace in Puerto Penasco, and Art was our driver on the way back to Phoenix. The pickup was very easy, and the drive was incredibly smooth with free snacks and water provided. The border crossing was surprisingly efficient and felt easier than going through immigration at an airport. I would also like to give a special shoutout to Art and Mike (co-head of the company) for finding a Contigo water bottle we accidentally left behind on the van and shipping it to us after we had flown back home from Phoenix. I only like to write reviews of praise because I feel like that is usually what companies deserve. However, this company tore on my heart strings a little to close to home and I would absolutely NOT have another family to endure what mine did. I booked a trip with Head out to Rocky Point and had a family emergency. I had to cancel our trip of three last minute because our family emergency consisted of a life or death situation. I sent an email saying I had a family emergency and if they needed proof of the emergency I'd be more than happy to provide that information...then, I followed-up with a "please let me know if you do refunds or give credit for a future date". I received NO RESPONSE. However my card was still charged $400 (the FULL total price). There was no paperwork, no email correspondence and no information on any of their internet or social media platforms in regards to a refund policy. I wasn't wanting to cancel my trip. I was just simply wanting to reschedule. Head Out to Rocky Point is supposed to be in the service industry of ensuring that families have a great time. They are in the industry of making lasting memories. And let me tell you, the only lasting memory that they have made on me is that they are unprofessional, unpolished, selfish and greedy individuals who run the show. I think it is a wonderful blessing that the owners have never had a family emergency to endure the pain of not knowing if their family members will make it through the day. However, I hope that if they are to ever experience what my family had to, that someone would be wiling to show some grace and class towards them. read more

They were very courteous, offered some water and snacks, and made bathroom stops as needed for the passengers. Plus, they played some great music along the way! We used Head Out to Rocky Point for a trip over the 4th of July weekend and I am very impressed! We chartered a 12 person passenger van with a small trailer to take us to, and from RP over the holiday weekend. It was $100 per person plus tipfor the trip there and back and was totally worth it. Our driver, David, was very nice, he helped us load and unload our trailer and kept us informed of stops and any necessary border info we needed to be aware of. The trailer was a nice touch as well, we were able to store all our luggage and not be cramped in the van as well as had room to bring our own lawn games, chairs, and any other items allowed across the border. Head Out to RoPo was totally worth it. On the way back, we were able to skip past at least 90 min of a line of cars and the border guards joked with us as we unloaded our personal baggage because of the great rapport Head Out to RoPo drivers have with them. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was the van we rode in needed some attention. The suspension or shocks were bad and the van often felt like a roller coaster so beware if you get car sick easily. Will definitely use them again for our next trip! read more

Lynelle and Mike's business provides not only a clean and efficient means of transport, but they add in a healthy dose of guidance for your travels and warm conversation to pass the time. They're fast too! They have transport access at the international border, so long lines don't phase them. Airport access saved us from having to rent a car or Uber anywhere. Mike and Lynelle, We booked a ride to Rocky Point for August 11th, 9 of us, going there to celebrate Birthdays, Anniversaries and getting married.  It was an awesome drive, our driver MJ was full of fascinating information, and accommodating all our needed stops and shopping once we arrived.  My son needed to get back on August 15th, and Lynelle picked just him up on that day to take him back, he said it was a real adventure, they saw a coyote right where Lynelle said one might be, then they hit a monsoon, he said he felt totally safe with her driving through it.  The rest of us came back on the 19th and our driver was also full of fun facts on the ride back. My son's back was really hurting him after that 1st day, and we thought he may need to go back early, Mike was so willing to help make that happen, luckily his back felt better and he was able to stay. I can't speak more highly of Lynelle and the shuttle service that she provides from Rocky Point/Puerto Peñasco, Mexico. I found myself at the very last minute needing to get an emergency passport (mine had expired two weeks prior to this trip. doh), book a flight from Phoenix (the nearest international airport to Puerto Peñasco since the international airport there is presently being built and won't be completed for another two years) to SFO, and get a shuttle from Puerto Peñasco to Phoenix. I called the small handful of shuttle services available to tourists visiting Puerto Peñasco and needing a way back to the U.S. They were all (and by "all" I do mean like the 2 or 3 available) expensive and impersonal and were not providing or offering exactly what I needed, nor where they willing to be flexible and work with me to gain my business. I called Lynelle after browsing her website and she was wonderful. She explained to me how her shuttle service worked, the cost, logistics, etc. We made arrangements to have her pick me up at a specific time from my hotel on a specific date and drop me off at the Phoenix airport. Perfect. She sent me an email confirmation. She ran my credit card when she said she would. On top of that, Lynelle was early to pick me up. Her van was new, air-conditioned and very clean. She provided trail mix and granola bars as snacks as well as cold still and mineral bottled water and reading materials about Rocky Point and the local points of interest/the Sonoran desert. Rocky Point/Puerto is a place with an eclectic mix of local Sonorans and expat gringos from Arizona who love it there, live there or at least have summer homes there and spend extensive vacations there. Lynelle is one of those gringo expats who divides her time between her home in Phoenix and her condo in Rocky Point. She is an entrepreneur who saw a need for a service in the community that needed to be provided and wasn't being provided well so she started this shuttle service. She loves Rocky Point and understands that people who visit it will not love it or come back if they are not provided with excellent service while there or to/from there. She is happy to work with you and provide you with a very excellent way to travel to/from Phoenix, Arizona and Rocky Point. Past that, she is a wonderful lady with a really interesting life story and she's so affable and interested in you. I felt safe with her when she picked me up at my hotel and we drove for roughly 4 hours through the beautiful Sonoran desert of Mexico, across the border and into Southern Arizona. (Side note: I was staying at the Mayan Palace a new resort a good distance out of the center of town, like 20 minutes driving distance and the other shuttle services I called charged a considerable amount extra to make a pick-up stop at the Mayan Palace. Lynelle did not. The cost she quotes you is all inclusive and she really is a door-to-door shuttle service provider.) Honestly, I can't say more about how wonderful her door-to-door shuttle service was. I would recommend Head Out to Rocky Point shuttle service to anyone needing to go to/from Puerto Peñasco. read more

My best friend and I decided to take a shuttle to meet up with my parents at the Mayan Palace for a few days. We were a little nervous about what and who would show up (picturing a non-air conditioned van packed with strangers). We couldn't have been farther from reality. A modest, but clean 12 person van (with AC!) arrived at our door a few minutes early and we were greeted by David. He told us to take our time, as we finished our mimosas and he took care of all of our suitcases. We shared the van with only one other woman who was headed home to her place in Mexico. David was an absolute gem. He played country music and put up with our car-eoke and ridiculous banter. David has a limo license so we were good to have a drink in the back as we made our way to the border. We got through the border with no problem. David was obviously a veteran of these roads and maneuvered us through towns and roads with no issues. He even played tour guide and gave us some info about the area and cool places to see and visit. My friend and I had a blast and could have driven around all day, but we made it to our hotel in about 4ish hours ( with a few stops). Our return trip to Phoenix was a bit more challenging due to the fact that we got caught in the Labor Day weekend traffic and caos. We made our reservation about one month before our scheduled trip during Thanksgiving weekend. After making the reservation I immediately received an email confirmation with times of pick up and return. The morning of pick up I received a call from our driver David that he was enroute in few minutes. Right on time at 10:30am for the drive to Rocky Point. There was an entire family already in the van but it was very comfortable and fun. David was very friendly, courteous and very informative all the way there. He stopped twice for some breaks and fuel and we arrived about 3:00pm at our hotel. The whole experience was a delight. Our pick up from Rocky Point was four days later and right on time. Again at 10:30 am. The ride back was a treat as we were allowed to bypass the 2-3 hour long line of cars waiting to cross the border. David said it was because we were a commercial vehicle. All we had to do was exit the van with our bags and walk through Customs. The whole process took about 10 minutes! It sure beat waiting 2-3 hours in a private vehicle. That alone was worth the price of the shuttle. Now about the price. They offer considerable discounts to groups of 6 or 8 but because we were only 2 people the price was $190 for each of us for round trip shuttle. A little steep. We would definitely use Head Out again but hopefully next time we will have more people to go so we can get the $100 fare. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Recently, I set up and paid for a shuttle ride from Rocky Point to the Phoenix airport. The shuttle never showed and I was stuck in Mexico without a ride back to Phoenix. I called the office number several times, but they never answered. They finally called me back five hours after I was scheduled to be picked up and said they did not know what was going on. Later on, they lied to me and said the shuttle driver said he was on time at my location and sat for 15 minutes waiting for me at the entrance. This was not the case, we showed 20 minutes before the scheduled pick up time and sat there for well over an hour waiting for the shuttle. They did refund my money and offered a free ride next time--I will pass on the ride. read more
