Sedona's Tree House (Sedona, AZ) - June 15, 2023 We rolled…read morein at about 11 am driving down from Flagstaff on Hwy 89A. The first set of parking spaces you come to are on your right. We saw a vacant space, so we grabbed it. It was right in front of a cool little art shop called Sedona's Tree House. Poking your head through the door is enjoyable in and of itself. It's as if you've met up with the Ents of Fangorn Forest (The Hobbit) and have been carried into a magical treehouse dream, with a giant tree climbing up through the middle of the shop. The shelves are cleverly designed from beautifully rough cut and masterfully finished planks held up in some cases with what seem to be branches growing out from under them. Hand crafted Kokopelli wind chimes, nature inspired table and wall art, and various artsy knickknacks of all sorts are beautifully displayed throughout this cozy little treehouse-themed shop. We ended up buying a beautiful sun-themed wind chime for only $25 that we're looking forward to putting up in our courtyard when we get home!

I was buying a magnet from The Hangin Tree, which I presented at the billing counter. The guy looked at my other hand and asked "That from my store?" I said "no", then he did something rather unexpected - he grabbed the item from my hand, flipped it around and was trying very hard to read the label on the item. I said - "I got it from the other store, it's not from here." Not able to find what he was looking for (i.e. proof that it is from his store), he said - "how come they didn't give you bag?" I said - "because I didn't want a plastic bag". I live in Seattle and I am used to a very high-trust environment. This entire encounter left a very bitter taste in my mouth and made me wonder he was so distrustful because of some prejudice against my race. I also felt he was staring at me in a distrustful way the whole time I was looking around the store too, as if I was going to steal something. I later went through the other Google reviews and it did seem like he can be rude to people who is not like him (read: non-white, on the spectrum, etc.) I would recommend people The Naja instead for almost the same collection and a more amicable experience at the billing counter.

I wanted to eat in the restaurant with a view and came to Sinagua Plaza. Drove to the back side where the parking garage is located. Parked on the second level where I found space. The driveway is tight, and the garage ceiling is low, so make sure you have enough clearance. This Plaza has many different types of shops, and restaurants. There are some benches and chairs for seating on the side. Stores are closing 8:30pm, so if you arrive late, you won't be able to get anything! Restaurant has amazing food with a great view of the mountains. You can enjoy the view from the 2nd level of the parking lot, but not from the lower level of course. Coming out from the garage is also very tight! Self parking is free! There is valet parking on the lower level but I don't know if it's for a fee or if it's free as well. I found this place convenient and valuable for me.

We stopped in to check it out and ended up eating at Sedona Pizza and Pasta Company. The outdoor area has various stores and dining options, gelato and tea shops. Even Rocky Mountain Chocolate Company is here! Definitely a must do if in the area. We will be heading back to do some shopping and check out more restaurants. Also want to visit Trailhead Tea which is right in this area.
