He did say that we would need insulation in the attic along with the new unit or it would overwork the unit, which we did completely agree with. He gave us a quote later that evening and was clear when he said that the quote was a full quote, regardless of what comes up. This by the way is nearly a $10k job, not something simple. He even said by going through their company lender and not Lowes we could save $1200. We were thrilled with the savings and set the appointment for the following Monday. Friday at 10:32am (I have a recording app for my phone to record all calls, but keep in mind Missouri is a one party consent state and yours might not be so look into that otherwise you must tell people they are being recorded), Brian called and said the team would really like to start at 6 to 6:30am due to the extra work of adding insulation. *key point of conversation, EXTRA work of adding insulation*. Monday comes and there is a full crew at my house working, however, by a little after noon (I have security cameras so I know where people were) there were about two people left on site. At 2pm, those two people were leaving and there was no insulation which was what the early appointment was for. I asked the guy, Sam, who apologized greatly and said that was not his crews responsibility but he would call the owner. Sam did seem to know what he was doing and what his assignment was and stayed until it was done. Fifteen minutes later, I had denied loan paperwork three times for an incomplete job and my husband was looking over the units. He found tons of damage on the outside unit that was installed that no one mentioned at all. By complete accident, both phones rang. My husbands was one person, mine was the owner. The owner is saying to me that the insulation was not complete because the blower was not available that day, remember as I said earlier that was the entire point of the crew saying they were starting early. I was not saying a word about the recorded conversation from Friday clearly stating that was the only reason the crew would be early because I did not want anyone knowing this conversation was recording also. At the exact same time, the other guy is telling my husband that the heat outside was why the insulation didn't get done. Two separate lies obviously because they are two completely different stories. Now comes rescheduling. Wednesday comes and when they finally arrive with the insulation and the new unit to replace the damaged one, the guy tells me there is old insulation in the attic on the ground and removal is not in the quote. Now remember back, Brian said the quote is the same NO MATTER WHAT COMES UP and has clearly seen the attic insulation there because he made the quote! Instead of arguing, I just tell him to work around it and leave it there. By this point, I desperately want these people out of my house and life. I have used Kelso Sales and Service in the past and this is what I get for not waiting on them! Their schedule was so full that they couldn't even get us a time to get to it. Now that this has happened, I understand why Kelso Sales and Service could not get to it and this place could. It is because Kelso Sales treats their customers with honesty and respect. I highly recommend calling Kelso Sales and Service and being patient. I will never make the mistake again of not doing that. I am not sure that it is all the owners fault, I think he needs to seriously rethink his salesman at minimum.

We are also pursuing other legal action against him as we will have to find another contractor to finish the porch, likely costing us thousands more. I hired this company for plumbing repairs, and from the very beginning, the customer service experience was disappointing. The woman answering the calls, Kelly, was extremely rude and unprofessional. I'm not sure if she is the owner, but if she is, I would strongly advise others to reconsider working with this company. Despite my concerns, I proceeded because the issue needed to be resolved. We agreed on the scope of work and pricing, and the technicians completed the repairs at the store. Everything seemed fine at first, but only one week later, the same issue happened again. I specifically requested that the technicians contact me upon arrival so I could confirm whether the issue was related to the previous repair or no. Instead, they went to the store and left without calling me. When I later tried contacting the company to understand what the actual issue was and which toilets were functioning or not, my calls were ignored. As shown in my call history, I attempted to contact them multiple times without receiving any response. I'm writing this review simply to prevent other customers from experiencing the same situation. In my experience, this company seems more focused on collecting payment for jobs than standing behind their work afterward. If the repair fails, they will ask for additional money instead of honoring previous repairs. The original repair included a flush valve rebuild, for which I was charged an additional $200. However, when the same issue happened again shortly afterward, the quoted price suddenly increased to $500. To sum it up, once they collect payment from the first visit, any future issue even if related to the same repair will require additional charges. And if you're lucky, they might answer your calls. In my experience, the repairs were done only to make money, without standing behind the work afterward. The clear winner, based on a huge percentage of Next Door endorsements, was Peters Service Company in Marble Hill, MO {573-238-4200}. Emailed them for a bid and was surprised when the owner, Mr. Greg Peters, came over the following day and walked me through exactly what they had in mind for the best installation. He sent another email the next day with everything in writing. We were never more surprised than when he included a "senior discount" and "military thank you" in the form of a free Lennox Merve 11 filter system, regularly $450, at no charge. But wait, it gets better! Greg said his guys would be here on a date and time to be set certain after all the stuff was ordered and delivered to their warehouse. Said they'd start at 8:30 in the morning, he'd give me a call just before they arrived so I could corral my Jack Russell Terriers {who think they're German Shepherds}. Sho nuff! They arrived {after calling me about the dogs} three minutes early, had their trucks parked and unloaded and were at work exactly when they said they would be, working together like the close-knit military units I'd known in the submarine service. Having been a General Contractor myself for more than twenty years {in Oregon and South Carolina} I knew how difficult that little magic trick is to accomplish. My first question, of course, do you think you'll be finished in one day? They just grinned, said closer to half that. Good grief, that had to be impossible, going by what I'd seen from other HVAC contractors in various subdivisions. But ok, we'll see how it goes. Five hours later the new {all Lennox!} machinery was installed, up and running like a sewing machine. All new Freon and electrical connections were done to code. New {beautiful!} coupling duct-work was fabricated. A new PVC vent system was routed through the outside rim joist. A new concrete pad for the new outside unit was placed {the old one hauled off}. The old furnace piping was removed and replaced for the new component. The elderly HVAC units and old water heater was disposed of {did I mention they also installed a brand-new gas hot water heater?}. Their work area was completely cleaned up, swept up, pristine. A lot of factory instructions for use of the equipment was provided. They removed several old no-longer-used gas pipelines that had been in place for fifty years just because they wanted to. Icing on the cake? Mr. Stacy Peters came by this morning to do the final "harmonic" tuning {after burn-in} of the components to an extent that some very powerful home-studio recording equipment {I own Horse Cactus Music here in town} can hardly hear the slight rumble of the new units. Never would have believed that to be possible! Stacy's parting gift to this family as he left this morning? A brand-new 16"X25"X5" filter element for the new filter system. I tried to pay him for it, but he said naw, that's from me to you. Filters last six months in this configuration so we won't have to worry about filters for a full year! I'm likely leaving out stuff they did because I don't bug workmen during their toil and didn't spend much time in the basement that day. Suffice it to say, we were one-hundred-percent PLEASED and literally blown away by what these fine people accomplished, and still can hardly believe they did it in such a short time.
