I would not recommend this company. Below I have written a very detailed description of what…read morehappened as well as a brief summary. Brief Summary: I diagnosed the problem with my AC myself, but opted to have the problem fixed today rather than waiting 3+ days for shipping. I needed (1) 55+5 start capacitor which can be found and ordered online (Linked below). The AC Tech showed up and replaced the part and wrote me a bill for $465 and pressured my S.O. into immediate payment. I was charged a $95 service fee and for a 55+5 capacitor ($30). Nothing more was done or listed on the receipt. Parent had the EXACT same problem and another company did the same work for $150 the prior week. Expected total: $140- $200 Actual total: $465.00 Detailed Summary: Unfortunately, my AC stopped working the first really hot day of the year. After diagnosing the problem myself I realized it was a start capacitor, which is a cheap part and I would rather pay a little bit in labor to have it fixed sooner rather than later. So, I checked around and read a few reviews for different companies, and this one had the highest rating on google in my area (4.3 stars and 28 reviews). So I choose them. The next morning, I called and spoke to Jason (owner/supervisor). I explained to him exactly what was wrong and what was needed to fix it. At approximately 3:20 the Service Tech (George) arrived at my home. Upon arrival I also explained to George what I described above. George and the other Service Tech then proceeded to fix the problem without ever entering my home. While I wasn't home at the time, he told my partner the bill would be $465. She asked if he could leave a bill that could be paid later, since I was going to pay it. George avoided the question and told her she could pay with card or check. Feeling pressured to make an immediate payment, she wrote a check. She then had to request a receipt (which was not properly filled out) and had to check herself that the repair had indeed fixed the A/C, rather than the Techs doing so. They were gone by 3:45. Shortly after my partner called me and told me what the price was, and that she felt pressured to pay at that time. She sent me the picture of the receipt which has all fields blank other than the service call and a note that states "55+5 cap". No prices, no item description, no signatures, no account of anything other than the $95.00 service fee. I then proceeded to call Jason to discuss how $465.00 could possibly be justified. I stated that I was fine with the $95.00 service fee, but I looked up the part before hand I know it is roughly a $30 part. That left over $300 unaccounted for and unexplained. Jason then rambled on about things from service tech salary to gasoline. I stated that all of those things are the purpose of a service fee which I am totally fine paying. Our phone call ended when Jason abruptly hung up on me. He then proceeded to call me back shortly after and stated that George would drop off a refund check for an unspecified amount the following day. The following day George returned to my residence and provided a refund check for $182.50. The total amount of money that I spent for 25 minutes of labor, $30 of materials, and a lot of frustration was $282.50. Unbeknownst to me at the time my parents had the EXACT same problem the prior week and another company (C & C Air Conditioning & Heat) came to their residence. That contractor replaced the capacitor, and cleaned my parent AC unit for a whopping $150.00. Below I have linked pictures of my receipt, my parents receipt, where to buy a capacitor online, and a website that states the typical prices for this type of repair. I feel that this company simply scams people out of money. In summary I would not recommend this company. They charge way to much and take advantage of people who maybe do not know any better. We called Lowes for a lead on air units. They sent us Aire Solutions for a quote. During the quote…read moreprocess, Brian, went over the information, looked at our old unit, and made recommendations. He did say that we would need insulation in the attic along with the new unit or it would overwork the unit, which we did completely agree with. He gave us a quote later that evening and was clear when he said that the quote was a full quote, regardless of what comes up. This by the way is nearly a $10k job, not something simple. He even said by going through their company lender and not Lowes we could save $1200. We were thrilled with the savings and set the appointment for the following Monday. Friday at 10:32am (I have a recording app for my phone to record all calls, but keep in mind Missouri is a one party consent state and yours might not be so look into that otherwise you must tell people they are being recorded), Brian called and said the team would really like to start at 6 to 6:30am due to the extra work of adding insulation. *key point of conversation, EXTRA work of adding insulation*. Monday comes and there is a full crew at my house working, however, by a little after noon (I have security cameras so I know where people were) there were about two people left on site. At 2pm, those two people were leaving and there was no insulation which was what the early appointment was for. I asked the guy, Sam, who apologized greatly and said that was not his crews responsibility but he would call the owner. Sam did seem to know what he was doing and what his assignment was and stayed until it was done. Fifteen minutes later, I had denied loan paperwork three times for an incomplete job and my husband was looking over the units. He found tons of damage on the outside unit that was installed that no one mentioned at all. By complete accident, both phones rang. My husbands was one person, mine was the owner. The owner is saying to me that the insulation was not complete because the blower was not available that day, remember as I said earlier that was the entire point of the crew saying they were starting early. I was not saying a word about the recorded conversation from Friday clearly stating that was the only reason the crew would be early because I did not want anyone knowing this conversation was recording also. At the exact same time, the other guy is telling my husband that the heat outside was why the insulation didn't get done. Two separate lies obviously because they are two completely different stories. Now comes rescheduling. Wednesday comes and when they finally arrive with the insulation and the new unit to replace the damaged one, the guy tells me there is old insulation in the attic on the ground and removal is not in the quote. Now remember back, Brian said the quote is the same NO MATTER WHAT COMES UP and has clearly seen the attic insulation there because he made the quote! Instead of arguing, I just tell him to work around it and leave it there. By this point, I desperately want these people out of my house and life. I have used Kelso Sales and Service in the past and this is what I get for not waiting on them! Their schedule was so full that they couldn't even get us a time to get to it. Now that this has happened, I understand why Kelso Sales and Service could not get to it and this place could. It is because Kelso Sales treats their customers with honesty and respect. I highly recommend calling Kelso Sales and Service and being patient. I will never make the mistake again of not doing that. I am not sure that it is all the owners fault, I think he needs to seriously rethink his salesman at minimum.

Right after they left I left to go to Walmart for groceries when I returned I heard a hissing sound from downstairs? I looked around and saw hot water steaming everywhere on my floor and you could hear and see the WH dumping hot water from my overflow pipe all over my floor. Seems the over temp sensor was bad open so it wound up dumping hot water everywhere. Talk about a nightmare I spent 4 hours wet vacuuming hot water and dumping it outside in 20 degree weather. I called up to complain the following morning about what happened they didn't say or do much just said sorry? So much for that lovely experience using Hacker Plumbing. All they had to do was check everything out before leaving but I guess they were in a hurry? Think they burned a bridge with me.

She doesnt know any of the men's schedules of clients or that can help. Leave messages with the secretary doesnt help either. When the guy came to do the plumbing part before the concrete was poured did it in a few hours. He still had a lot to do. He disnt show up the next day to finish. We couldn't do the next step on the garage until he completed his job. We left messages with the guy on his cell, left messages at the office several times. Eight to ten weeks past and couldnt get the guy to call us or come out. He finally called back last week and said he will be here on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 to finish the job. This morning we called several times on his cell and left voice messages, called the office and left a message with the secretary. We haven't heard a word from him and he never showed up. I DO Not recommend this company to anyone!
