I want to thank Tom over at HD Fence for doing such a great job finishing our fence on the side of the house. We recently acquired a puppy, and this was the main reason for needing to finish our fence. It was not a simple job though. Our yard service needs a 5-foot opening to get their equipment to the back yard. So we needed a gate. To make matters more interesting, it's on a pretty steep slope. I had a few companies providing bids. Most of them were way too complex and expensive. Tom came up with a fix that looks nice, didn't kill my pocket book and is extremely effective. He measured the slope of the area, and had a custom gate fabricated to accommodate. Once the gate was built, they came out and installed it. It looks great (see pics), works perfectly - and they did a great job cleaning up the job site! I have been so impressed with this company. If you go to their website, you'll see that HD Fence specializes in large projects (many of them are commercial). They can really do just about anything related to fences. The benefit to be had from this is that they do everything on a professional level. All communication was timely and clear. I believe they treated my small project with the same care and attention that they give to their top clients. Here is the icing on this cake... Before they came to install the gate, I mentioned to Tom that there is an area on the other side of the yard where the top pole doesn't quite reach its connecting hardware. So this 40-foot pole has just been dangling for years. He came up with a solution in about 10 seconds, and said he'd take a look when they come to do the gate. So at no extra charge, he fixed that other problem. That is great service! I would highly-recommend Tom and HD Fence to anyone. These guys were great. So responsive and they do such great work, even in difficult situations. Our project was not simple. Our back yard is not very large but it is plagued with lots of buried cables, utilities, etc. Additionally, we also have an in-ground sprinkler system. As it turns out, so does our neighbor immediately behind us. And, as luck would have it, HIS sprinkler system actually crosses the property line over into OUR yard. The poor guy is over eighty years old and had surgery two weeks ago so there was nothing he could do about it (he wasn't even aware of it until we showed him the survey) and there was no way I was going to move it. Between not being able to fence in his sprinkler, not dig holes in our sprinkler and not dig holes over the buried utilities, Tom and his crew had their work cut out for them. The options were: 1: Put in a fence that respected the property lines, sprinkler systems and utilities but would never in a million years be straight (unacceptable); 2) Wait until my elderly neighbor died, sold his house and we told the purchasers to move their sprinkler system (too ghoulish and we also have dogs that need a place to run around; 3) Give up over three feet of back yard to move the fence in so that all of the problems would be avoided (unacceptable obviously); or 3) Let Tom and HD Fence figure a workaound. Of course option three is what we chose and it couldn't have worked out better. Tom figured out a way to shim at the posts that had to be moved inward for one reason or another. The result is that even though the posts aren't (and can't, not because of Tom, just because they can't) be in a straight line, the fence itself absolutely runs in a straight line. This is fantastic work, done fast and for a great price. Tom showed up when he said he would, did what he told me he would and was completed when he promised me he would be. WOW this company is incredible! I couldn't be more pleased with our fence. All the other companies were out 6-8 weeks on installation and we just could not wait that long after we moved to a new home with all of our fur family. Tom answered his phone on a Saturday afternoon, took measurements on Sunday, and we were in business that next week! You never have to wonder where you stand with Tom, he and his crew are just about the hardest workers I've ever come across. Our fence is BEAUTIFUL and no short cuts were taken. Our fence is fantastic! We bought a house that had fence on the sides of the yard but no back or front closing it off. We had HD Fence close up the back and front of our fence and once the sides get old and need replaced we will have them come do the rest for us. They did such great work! read more
