I had The Fence Lads install a fence for me around my entire backyard. They will talk-the-talk, but…read moretheir product and service are subpar. They used cheap hardware (which I've had to replace) after promising to use quality, heavy-duty pieces. The hinges bent and the bolts rusted within months. They drove ALL the screws deep into the wood causing water penetration and premature rotting. Again causing me to replace boards after a much shorter period than should have been necessary. The concrete for the posts was sloppily installed and not graded to repel water. One gate post quickly rotted out and fell over. The hole was five inches deep. There was a root, so they just used a couple inches of concrete. Lazy and unprofessional. I was able to take it out quickly and easily and dig the hole down to an acceptable level when I had to replace their shoddy work. I wanted a horizontal fence. Luckily, I was home when the hacks they had installing my fence started. They tried to run the boards at an angle instead of level. Why? So they could use longer runs of board and not have to make cuts to keep the boards perpendicular to the ground. They also tried (and failed) to space the boards about three inches apart from top to bottom. Lazy and dishonest. They tried to charge me more for their laziness because they had to use "more boards". Keep in mind the guy had come out and bid on the project and knew exactly what I wanted. But of course there was no boss or supervisor on site when they were working. Only when it was time to get paid. The dishonesty continued when they tried to get me to pay them cash and said they wouldn't accept a check. Even tried to get tough with me. (On the phone of course.) That did not go well for them. Gosh, why would they want me to pay in cash I wonder? Turns out they COULD take a check when they found out that they weren't going to get paid and we could just go to court. My opinion is to give this disreputable company a HARD PASS at all costs.

I want to thank Tom over at HD Fence for doing such a great job finishing our fence on the side of…read morethe house. We recently acquired a puppy, and this was the main reason for needing to finish our fence. It was not a simple job though. Our yard service needs a 5-foot opening to get their equipment to the back yard. So we needed a gate. To make matters more interesting, it's on a pretty steep slope. I had a few companies providing bids. Most of them were way too complex and expensive. Tom came up with a fix that looks nice, didn't kill my pocket book and is extremely effective. He measured the slope of the area, and had a custom gate fabricated to accommodate. Once the gate was built, they came out and installed it. It looks great (see pics), works perfectly - and they did a great job cleaning up the job site! I have been so impressed with this company. If you go to their website, you'll see that HD Fence specializes in large projects (many of them are commercial). They can really do just about anything related to fences. The benefit to be had from this is that they do everything on a professional level. All communication was timely and clear. I believe they treated my small project with the same care and attention that they give to their top clients. Here is the icing on this cake... Before they came to install the gate, I mentioned to Tom that there is an area on the other side of the yard where the top pole doesn't quite reach its connecting hardware. So this 40-foot pole has just been dangling for years. He came up with a solution in about 10 seconds, and said he'd take a look when they come to do the gate. So at no extra charge, he fixed that other problem. That is great service! I would highly-recommend Tom and HD Fence to anyone. They are a top-notch company with phenomenal service, and they do fantastic work! I am very pleased, and so is Rosie (the pup).
