For sometime I've been searching for someone to capture my true essence through photography for my website that I'm currently updating. I'm somewhat camera shy and was looking for someone to make me feel at ease and look natural. I was drawn in to the inspiring work of Hannah Cohen's photography on Instagram and couldn't wait to learn about her process and availability. Hannah was thoughtful and generous with her time during our initial consultation. I knew I wanted to book the photo shoot even before I got off the phone, and to be honest I knew I wanted to book with her before we even booked the call. She offered multiple dates and a variety of locations and then followed up with me in a very timely manner to secure my spot. Leading up to, and on the day of the shoot Hannah checked in with me several times to confirm that I knew where to go, and what time to arrive. Her smiling face and warm presence was there waiting for me as I arrived at the location. This was the most perfect spot in all of upstate NY. She greeted me with a warmth that soothed my soul. I knew this was going to be a special experience. She softly asked me thoughtful questions as we walked along the path to the waterfall, stopping periodically to pause and take in the exquisite nature .. it felt like a dream. I was held in a gentle cloud of peace and calm. The next few hours flowed along, we got all the shots we needed and then some. Hannah made sure to send along some of photos within a few days and I was elated! By the end of the week I had a personalized gallery full of beautiful photos with some added bonus ones .. cloud nine treatment. It was a total privilege having Hannah as our wedding photographer. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and a very talented woman. Hannah is unbelievably friendly and genuine. You can tell from the very beginning, she is truly interested in getting to know you. She asked us a lot of questions -- many of which we had not even previously considered -- both about us, our wedding, our preferences and our families. She showed a great deal of concern about making everything go smoothly. During the actual wedding, it felt like she was just one of the guests -- an old friend we'd known forever. Our family and friends commented on how much of a pleasure it was to talk to her. She was also extremely accommodating, even as schedules and events were changing in real time. We had a destination wedding, which brings with it its own complexities, and though we often had to rearrange things -- including her schedule -- she was kind enough to not only make the change, but be willing to roll with the punches real time. Most importantly, she is an amazing photographer. She has an authentic, journalistic style. For us, that was absolutely perfect. We wanted to be able to look back at our wedding pictures and have them remind us of how we, our family and our friends were feeling. We wanted our day to be captured as authentically as possible, with as little artificial posing as possible and Hannah did just that. All the pictures ended up looking beyond great. Hannah is not only an amazingly talented photographer, she is the sweetest person! Hiring her as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions that we made. Our engagement photos were a wonderful way to get to know Hannah before the wedding and to get comfortable in front of the camera. She made my husband and I feel at ease and comfortable, we felt like rock stars. When we received our engagement photos back we were blown away! A few months later, Hannah shot our rehearsal dinner and our wedding and it was a joy to have her alongside us throughout the weekend. Immediately following our ceremony, Hannah took us away from our guests to have some time to ourselves so she could document our newlywed bliss - I highly recommend pausing from the festivities of the day to share this time with Hannah. We were beyond thrilled to have Hannah Cohen as our wedding photographer. We were married 3 weeks ago at Arrow Park in Monroe, NY. The grounds had so many opportunities for photos, inside and outside, and Hannah took advantage of them all! She's incredibly creative and so good at using the natural beauty around you to make something special. Even though we met Hannah at a friend's wedding last summer that she photographed, our photos are completely different than theirs and completely unique to us and who we are. And the photos are beautiful! They feel like art. We also had Hannah do our engagement photos and I have done a private photo shoot with her as well and every experience has been a good one. Hannah has a way of making people very at home in front of the camera, very funny and quirky, but still completely professional. She's also very pleasant to deal with. We were late for our engagement shoot (we got lost) and Hannah was so gracious and even made sure we had directions on how to get home when we left her. Hannah made our maternity/family photo shoot exceptional and unforgettable! She got to the site early and scouted some beautiful spots for our pictures. We have a 2.9 year old daughter who Hannah was remarkable with and really engaged her in the pictures and made everything we did together that day fun for our daughter and interactive. When we were with Hannah we often forgot that she was photographing us and just were able to enjoy each other and our special moment. She brought me flowers, a blanket for some pictures, some props for my daughter and so forth...Hannah is extremely professional and is able to make you feel special and beautiful which are things you want when being photographed! She captured every moment I wanted when I thought about the day, every smile on my daughter's face and every memory that I would have wanted to hold on to. During the day itself, I felt like our communication was great. Hannah helped me feel that whatever energy I'm bringing is welcome, there's no wrong or right. I appreciate the fact she let me get my nerves out both by myself and some breathwork she guided me through when I asked for it. I think maybe it's Hannah's kindness, empathy and patience that make her subjects feel so comfortable and enable her to capture uncommon moments. Although she always has a ridiculous amount of work on her plate (because she's amazing and everyone wants her) she always has some of her best shots up and ready to share with you immediately after the shoot. We could not have asked for a better photographer for our October wedding. Hannah took beautiful photographs that completely captured the beauty of the day. Hannah Cohen was the best photographer to have at our wedding! Our wedding was in a family home and Hannah and her second shooter were our only "vendors." They fit in with our family and friends seamlessly and all the family commented on how nice they were. Also I almost never saw them taking pictures. I know they were- but I didn't notice at the time. Hannah is also fantastic at getting you to relax in front of the camera. After the engagement session my husband and I were so much more at ease with having our picture taken. Hannah was fantastic on such a special night for us. My now fiancé planned a surprise engagement and enlisted the skill of Hannah to capture the beautiful moments. She was in great contact the days leading up to the engagement and prepared the day of to get the best shot.
