Got a pile of recyclables at your house? Come on over! I was looking for a temporary recycling center since my usual one has been closed until further notice. The recycling process is very quick. Small parking lot with gravel and dirt. Unfortunately, this recycling center only takes beverage bottles, tin cans, and aluminum cans. I am still trying to find a recycling center that takes produce packaging. Will definitely come back!

At the end of every remodel project, I take all of the scrap metal & fixtures I have collected during demo, etc. and take it to recycling. I usually get anywhere from $50-$200 each time. This time, under new management, 138 pounds of separating & hauling crap down into my car, out and into their space, I got: $2.21 I'm never going back there or doing this again under this management, although very nice staff, not worth it and will throw it in the trash. Edit: Your response is incorrect as it was NOT tin, but steel, copper, & brass plumbing fixtures, no worries, not coming back but had to clarify!

I grew up outside of CA and this was my first recycling center experience. The employees were friendly and helpful answering questions. The process was straight forward and the parking was easy on a Saturday morning. Very efficent center. Highly reccomend.

This place is a joke. Don't waist your time. Offered 25 cents a pound for brass. Go up the street to Sackin metals.

She even hopped up in the back of the truck and busted out a pair of scissors to cut the bags open for me to dump them quicker into their baskets. They paid $1.90 per lb. and were located right behind Costco in Cypress. My wife and I recycle aluminum cans. Our SUV holds 8 large trash bags full. Typically, that will…read moreget us between $80 and $100. We took 8 bags to Sunset Recycling today, and those 8 bags filled 6 of their recycling baskets. The cashier handed me a $1, a $5, and 4 bills I thought were $20s. $86 was about what I was expecting. When I got home, I realized they were actually only $10 bills. We went back to the center and asked to see our receipt. It said we had 27 pounds worth of aluminum. I questioned if that seemed right for 6 baskets full. The guy claimed it was. That would be less than 5 pounds per basket. I watched him weigh the next customers baskets, and each was 8-10 pounds. So, what do we think happened? Because the parking next to the center was full, we parked behind the Costco instead. We filled 6 of their recycling baskets with cans, plus a basket with a little bit of plastic and one with an insignificant amount of glass - that's 8 baskets total. We dragged over 4 of the baskets, then went back and grabbed the other 4. We think they took in a few of the first set of baskets we dragged over without weighing them first, then weighed the second set of baskets while we stood there. There is no way for us to prove that is what happened, but it seems like the logical conclusion. How can I be so sure 27 pounds is way too light? We had another 8 bags of cans to recycle. Immediately after, we took them to a competitor down the street. Those 8 bags of cans weighed in at just under 50 pounds for $85. So, yeah, we are 100% sure they ripped us off.
