Located behind Costco, this center was easy to find. Multiple signs by the Costco gas station direct you where to drive. Lots of parking and space. Lots of rolling bins to fill with you recycling items. Clean, efficient and the staff were friendly and helpful. I recommend for quick and easy. I can't be 100% sure of this, but I wonder if, when customers deserve, for example, $20.00, the employees are paying out $10 or $15 and pocketing the difference. I always get a far bigger payout when I go to other places. Also, one time - about two months ago - there was a little child there, maybe 5 years old, dragging customers' bins filled with recyclables over past the weigh station, and the employee tried to claim he had already counted my bin; I swiftly called him out, saying the little tyke had dragged it over, and that it had been in front of me the whole time, and the employee was then okay to give the credit I deserved. The staff working the last hour were super helpful on my visit. 1-10-23 I visited and the gentleman who helped identify the different recycling also helped me sort it. Having moved to Anaheim, this was about the only place I could trust with being open and that was honest on the price of cans and plastic. They should have enough bins for everyone, I was by myself for a solid 10 mins before more people showed up and lined up behind me. Had about 6 months worth of cans and bottles and I'm glad to be done with them. The location is great since I can gas up and do my shopping at Costco or Trades Joe that are some steps away. read more

Quick and efficient - Kevin and his team are super helpful in answering any questions. I wasn't sure if a can I had was recyclable and Kevin went to the trouble of showing me how to tell if it was CRV eligible for future reference. They have loads of orange baskets to empty your recycles in, clear signage on what to do and what's eligible, and on weekends when there's a line, it moves fast. I like that the area is constantly being cleaned and soap and water is available for afterwards. It's located at the back corner of Costco, plenty of parking. You can enter via Costco way or the Costco entrance via Winner's circle. read more

July 2023 located on the side back area of Costco (towards the gas station). The business is open every day from 9:00 Am- 5:00 Pm. The staff here are nice and informative if theirs any changes with the business hours or the process of how to recycle. The wire Bins are for the Can and Plastic items, the gray bins are for the Glass items. They do not take boxes so just know it needs to be recycled elsewhere. they give you the cash for the items on the spot. In addition, they have a hand wash/sanitizer station set up for those who need to wash their hands. read more

I have come here a few times and Kevin has been helpful and explains how they operate. Each basket has a weight printed on it and the scale is set to zero. They take the weight of your goods and deduct the basket weight and the difference is your weight with a fair redemption price per pound for CRV plastic and aluminum. It was great that this was explained as I originally thought all the baskets were estimated, but this is not the case. Then he gets your information and you get a receipt with everything spelled out and your total amount. Also they have a soap and water area that you can rinse your hands. Used to love going here to recycle and do my part by recycling and then shopping at Costco for groceries. My mom and I went to recycle bags of bottles , cans, yakult bottles, and wine bottles and the worker (the one that handles the weighing and money) there talked to my mom as if she were dumb. THAT IS RUDE. Wanted to go off on him but stopped myself. He was also doing shady stuff and only gave us half of what we were supposed to get. We asked for a receipt and he said he ran out of paper when we clearly saw him throw it away. If you watch him carefully, he's punching number in on his cell phone. We took a similar amount of recyclables to a place in Fullerton (separate occasion) and got double what we got here. This place rips people off for recycling items they purchased and drank. Not going back here. Hopefully they get someone more honest working here. read more

It's my first time coming here and probably last. I went here because it's next to costco. I know I got ripped here for sure. The guy weigh the basket with can and plastic bottle without me looking at it since I'm back in the car looking for sanitizer for me and my kids. I'm not sure if it's the right wt. I honestly didn't check how many bottles I brought in since I wasn't counting when we were segregating them but the guy that is working on the back said 5. Even told him (the guys that weighs) but he only put in the receipt 4. For 3 bags full of compress can/plastic bottles/glass bottles I don't think it's only $14.87. *it wasn't busy time. It's just me and my 2 kids (6 and 5) when it's was our turn to wt them. me and my kids did the segregation for cans, plastic bottles and glass (not sure what their policy is since it's my first time coming here). read more

This place is the best recycling center to go to, I just make the drive to go here. The staff are ALWAYS friendly, they always keep it clean, and they're always courteous and help you when necessary. Today is no exception, I came at the last minute and was helped by Kevin even though they were basically done closing. While people should definitely come earlier and not at closing, the fact that they helped me all the same should tell you what you need to know. Something things to note for others looking for a recycling center, try pre-sorting your stuff as it helps them process your stuff quicker. They also offer a hand-washing station which is really nice when you have dirty hands after handling all your recycling. They also have moved locations- they're back in the corner behind Costo now, and there are actually parking spots easily available in from of it now instead of having to worry about the people coming and going from Costco. read more

I like the convenience of this location and I been coming here frequently. This last visit left me a bit skeptical on whether I will come back here. My experience with other recycling centers is that the receipt has the weight of each load that is weighed and the weight is also displayed to the customer. If I have 5 baskets, I will see the 5 separate weights on the receipt. This past visit to Sunset, I had a combination of Al cans and plastics bottle. The Al cans only fit 1 basket whereas I had multiple baskets for the plastic bottles. When it was all totaled up, the receipt had a total weight for the plastic bottles and the total weight for the Al cans. Since the Al cans only had 1 basket, it appeared to light. I loaded the Al cans into the basket and I knew it weighed more then what was on the receipt. When the Al can was re-weighed, the receipt weight was only half of the total weight on the scale. This was concerning because there was not way for me to validate the plastic bottles. The employee made the correction, but I left feeling like I may have been ripped off on the bottles. It may have been an honest mistake, but be aware that the weights are accurate. read more

--LOCATION-- by the Cypress Costco and like basically straight behind the gas station. --PARKING-- parking lot w/ Costco --SERVICE-- they will recycle glass, aluminum, and some plastic. Separate your material (try doing so beforehand). The glass go in the trash bins. The others go in the mesh bins. They'll weigh and/or count everything up at the register. --OVERALL-- I'll keep going here. It's convenient and gets the job done. 4/5 largely because I didn't get the type of help I needed when I first started going here. The service is definitely fine, but I did find it a biiit of a struggle learning the ropes. Maybe it's just me? I'm not sure, but I can only tell from my own experience, right? read more

I have been going to this place for the past few years. Apparently they recently move their location slightly to the back of Costco but there are signs by the gas line to direct you back there. Location moved to the back of the Costco. My kids like to collect cans and water bottles to change them in for $. What they collect is their money. This location is convenient and clean. The process has clear instructions, quick, organized, and my kids can place their items on their own. I just supervise. There is a wash/sanitation station for your hands. Workers are polite and helpful. The receipt shows gross-rare-net-price-total. We just did water bottles and my kids were happy with their return. I highly recommend this place. read more
