After that you are good to go! For larger items, there's a designated drop-off point located just outside the office. All data is destroyed in compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Guidelines for Media Sanitization (NIST 800-88). This is warehouse size place. Really easy. Showed up, dropped off my electronics and pretty much walked away. I dropped off a couple laptops which I had removed the HDs myself but they told me they wipe all drives and even do certified wiping which costs $5-25 depending on what it is. I am glad I have found this place. I had a 50 inches TV that I need to get rid of. After google around I found this place that is willing to take my old TV. Nowadays, some places charge me to dispose of old TV. I first made a call to make sure they will take my TV for free and drove to their location in Garden Grove. I contacted this company via email to request a pick up for around 25 items, and heard back quickly. My pickup was considered a smaller pickup for them, so they let me know they would get back to me when they were able to combine it with another pickup in my area, to keep it free. I heard back three days later with a date and pickup time which was awesome. The driver arrived at the exact scheduled time and was able to take everything we had for him. Ive had a lot of trouble with actually finding someone to respond to my requests for pickups, even companies I have used in the past, so this was AWESOME and appreciated. Save your time and gas! What a ripoff. Brought them a trunk full of recycling, including expensive toner cartridges and got a whopping $0 and not even a receipt! They said receipt would be e-mailed. We'll see. Even the monitors, for which a recycling fee was paid at purchase, and which they are supposed to refund when you recycle got me $0. Stay away. read more

Right off 55 and Main, California Electronics Recyler is a convenient spot to drop off your e-waste with the perk of possibly to exchange for a refurbished tv, monitor, vacuum, or other used electronic. They are only open during business hours on weekdays. Best to call to confirm current policy in case there are any confusions. The whole process is a breeze, less than 10 min in and out: 1. follow the sign to the warehouse to drop of your e-waste 2. fill out a slip with your info on it while the rep weighs your item 3. sign and take the slip to the front office to pick your desired refurbished electronic/computer peripheral Tips: One free exchange per person per year 1. Free e-waste recycling under 30lbs; over that that, it's 10 cents per lb 2. If your big screen TV's glass surface is intact, they won't charge you to recycle it here 3. They will wipe off your hardware/laptop, so no worries if you forgot to do so beforehand. The workers are courteous and doing great stuff for the community! read more

These guys were super efficient and reliable. They did an office cleaning at our building, and even with over 11 floors to service they didn't even seem to break a sweat. We had 208lbs of e-waste for them, and after seeing us struggling carrying the first load down they told us to just sit back and wait. A few minutes later they rolled up with one of those hotel dollies and loaded up everything in like 3 minutes and were out the door. They weighed everything for us as well and sent us a nice clean PDF of the recycling slip within 48 hrs. Really awesome service, and I'd absolutely recommend them. Very easy experience. There was signage as for where to park. I went up to the door and rang the bell. A kind man came out and unloaded all of my electronics for me, even a big heavy TV. I use to drop all of my ewaste off here. I love the fact that something is done with it instead of just landfill. Unfortunately I found out today they apparently dont take everything for free anymore. If the electronic is not part of a list they have (which they dont mention on Craigslist) you have to pay to have them take it. Oh, and dont take more than an item or two from 12-1 apparently that's lunch time and the crew that knows what they can take isn't there at that time. Will not be going back. 3 star review for good past experience. Lost 2 stars for today's experience. read more

Had to find a drop-off location to recycle my old 27" tv (big & bulky). I'm an older lady and my knee is on the mend (I look stronger than I am) so I highly recommend this place which makes it easy to recycle. First, found another recycling company that had a drop-off location nearer to me (Michaelson & Jamboree) but when I went there, the guy working there was busy and said I would have to unload it on a dolly and take it up the stairs to get it into the drop-off location - ugh. Decided to try and find another recycler and found California Electronics Recycler was not too far away. Better yet, when I called, the man was so helpful and courteous on the phone, even saying that they will get it out of my car. They told me they could make an appointment for next Monday, Weds, or Fri. Set the appointment for today and they arrived promptly at the scheduled time! Yes, they arrived ON TIME!!! 2) Friendly, courteous, and helpful - the two gentlemen that arrived were direct to the point, came in, picked up all the e-waste we had, and had no issues. **Items picked up included a 50" Projection TV and a pretty heavy 32" CRT TV, among other things 3) Certificate of Disposal - they said they would email me a certificate of disposal as soon as they process it. 4) FREE!! Worst Company to work with. Scheduled two events for our yearly eWaste events and our First event they were very rude and not helpful. Was going to work through the challenges and try them again but when confirming another event that was already scheduled, they said they can't do the event since they dont work on weekends, when the event was already planned months ago.
