My mother had to be admitted here for post hospitalization rehabilitation after surgery. She has dementia. I stay with her as long as possible. These are a few things I have noticed: She's only been at the facility 2 days. Because of her dementia she has alarms on her bed and wheelchair. She gets up and the alarm goes off. I've allowed the alarm to buzz for 10 minutes and no one comes in to check on her. Last night I went home and was assured by the nursing staff that my mother will be well taken care of. At 10:00 she fell. All my fears about putting her in a nursing home are coming to fruition. This place is short staffed and the nurses cannot physically be everywhere with all these patients. Her first meal, they didn't provide her with the correct tray. The nurses and ancillary people appear very nice and knowledgeable, but again there are not enough nurses. They don't have the time to devote to patients. The facility is clean which is a plus. If you HAVE to put a family member here, please ask questions and stay in constant contact. Your loved ones deserve the best care possible.

I go visit and hear the way some of the nurses aides talk to her and it is horrible. If my mother was able to help care for herself I would take her home. This place is a nightmare. Don't put your loved one in this facility. Horrible horrible care and when you ask questions the nurses act like you are bothering them this place is inhuman!
