Jason took notes during his initial walkthrough and presented us with a thorough, written proposal. We scheduled the job for the week before we moved in. We met the crew on the first day but then had to leave for the rest of the week. We had to trust that the work would be done properly. I've been wanting to paint some rooms in my house but I really wasn't feeling it as I'm not a painter. I'm a pretty handy guy and I can generally fix stuff, but I don't do my own plumbing, I don't do my own dentistry, and guess what? I'm a terrible painter. I've got bad lines, bad shading and always spilling it. I go to visit my parents place here in Oceanside...and holy cow! Their house looks brand new bitchen! I ask the Major (my father) and he tells me how he had Hazard paint the outside of the house. And it was awesome! So I get Jason's number from my mum and I call Jason. Jason comes by and we chat a bit, talk colors, ideas, pricing, scheduling, etc. On scheduling day, Troy shows up right on time. Friendly, knowledgeable and super personable. Troy is the guy you go have beers with and hang out with the family. In the meanwhile, I ask to have my back wall deep red. The WORST color because it shows every imperfection with the dry wall. Every little bump, nail hole and old scratch is amplified. Troy smooth's all those suckers out and retextures, and retextures, and retextures....you get the point. My paint was sooooo dead that Troy had to go over it with his magic several times and made it super bitchen. In the end, as I'm writing this, I'm scheduled to get my master bedroom and bathroom painted in two weeks. We recently had Hazard Painting, Inc. paint our exterior window frames and doors, and various rooms indoors (including our kitchen which we had remodeled). Travis's team -- AND Travis! -- did a super job. We are very pleased. Travis worked with us to ensure that the white paint was indeed the EXACT shade of white that we wanted and that it truly matched the other walls that were painted some years ago. He was helpful and respectful. He listen to our requests and needs. His group of painters showed up on time and left the house and outside always clean and organized. This is the second time we used Hazard Painting, Inc. The previous time was in 2015. We would not hesitate to use their services again. Jason and his crew did an awesome painting up our retaining wall that was tagged by vandals. They color matched the paint to the natural brick color and faded it into the brick. We are absolutely happy that we found these guys. They are very reasonably priced, showed up on time, got right to work preparing the site, and cleaned up after themselves when done. Although I will do much of my own painting, Jason's team has painted both the inside of the old part of our house and a new unit of 1800 Sq Ft attached to our house for our daughter,SIL and two grandchildren. Jason's team has always been outstanding both in their respect for our house and their interactions with our family. You do not need to look elsewhere! Addendum: after nearly three years the side of the new unit facing south had a blotchy look. Jason came over, brought along the man from Sherwood-Williams and decided that for whatever reason the paint did not hold up to the elements. Even though giving how well known they are where I live, it was a bit surprising to me when I didn't find them on Yelp. I been wanting to paint my townhouse in UTC/La Jolla for over a year.
