I've been going to Hayley for years for cut, color and extensions and she is the best! I also entrusted her with the most important thing ever... my Bridal hair! It came out beautiful and I could not have been happier. I decided to be super drastic and 2 weeks before the wedding I wanted to go from a brunette to a wheat blonde and also wanted these amazing new type of hair extensions that she is trained to do called Naturally Beaded Rows. I am so thankful for her, because this could've been a disaster. Instead she spent a ton of time with me helping me to choose the right blonde, we ordered the hair, and I went in for my drastic makeover. I am so happy with the results and everyone was shocked from the huge change but so far all good feedback and I'm really happy with my choice. You can trust Hayley to do whatever it is you need. My extensions are my favorite thing, they don't hurt at all, no one can tell I have them, I just have amazing long hair all the time now thanks to her! My hair is very fine and thin too, these hide perfectly under my natural hair... I am so glad she introduced these to me. She can get pretty busy but will always work with you to try and get you in as soon as possible, definitely worth it for Hayley. I'm very picky about my hair and look and she never lets me down. One of the things that I've always liked is when I say I want her to just cut off the dead ends and not take off much, she listens. Not only with that, but with everything, the colors I want in my hair, and especially with how I wanted my hair for the wedding. I've been going to Hayley for years, followed her from Dizin to Habit then Habit 2 and now at Mint. Regardless of distance, she's worth it because she cares about her clients and knows hair. As a person she has a sweet disposition, and as a stylist she knows what works best, and will experiment color with you and try to ensure you have an overall positive experience. I've been doing color with her for some time, been working with purple, blue, red, teal, copper color tones, and I like that she follow-ups with you on how the color turned out and she makes fixes by buying different color products in hopes it'll last longer, that alone shows how caring Hayley is, some stylists would usually stick to products that they think is good enough but for Hayley good enough is not it, she goes for great or better. I purchased a Groupon for Hayley Smith. Upon contacting her cell phone, I was instantly annoyed to hear I was required to wait at least 2 weeks for an appointment simply because I was a Groupon client. I brushed that off and left a message. Got a call a few days later and scheduled my appointment about 3-4 weeks out due to limited scheduling times available and my schedule. I arrived an time for my appointment and walked into the Mint Salon. Three stylists were working with clients. No one greeted me or asked me whom I was there to see. There was no receptionist or sign in sheet. I sat down. No one even looked at me for 30 minutes even though I was staring at the stylists. After 30 minutes I finally flagged down someone and asked which stylist was Hayley Smith. I was directed to her. I asked her about my appointment and she told me she did NOT have me on the schedule. I am sure it was a simple scheduling mistake but what really bothers me is that is sat there for 30 minutes and no one even bothered with me in any way. I left without receiving any service and am currently working on getting a refund from Groupon. read more

Well hun, my phone had fizzled out, broken, non-functioning. I should have a fully operational phone in 2 days. I welcome you to call so we can discuss the matter rationally. And I did not have "plenty of time" to re-book. That would force me to reschedule the AZ Republic press interview, transportation, and medical appointments. None of my comments required a hysterical, inaccurate account of my experience with your hair operation. As I said in my review, you provide a service to your customers. That entails kindness, thoughtfulness, respect, great cuts, not arrogance. 20%, off, no big deal, I didn't care. It's good business, however. Word-of-Mouth for attempting to promote "goodwill" for my inconvenience goes a long way, as you can see. I go out of my way to praise those who are good at what they do. And VERY rarely do I take the time to convey my displeasure. You're a little fish in a VERY big bowl. There are plenty of hairdressers to choose from. Don't worry your pretty little tresses. I've been a dedicated client for 9 years, roughly 36 appointments, and though there were things at times I wasn't completely satisfied with, each experienced I viewed overall factors ( time, cost, finished product)& most times decided my experiences were good. My last appointment with Hayley missed all points: it took 40 minutes longer than usual, the cost was as usual unpredictable ( she's not upfront about the changes, usually I don't care because the end product is good), my hair wasn't what I wanted( I showed her a picture before we started). I paid, tipped, and went on my way. The first time I've ever complained her response was my fault :I didn't communicate more about time constraints ( which I did), she's always up front about her charges ( which she isn't), and that she tried to give me what I wanted. She wrote "I'm unfortunately not 100% psychic..." and that she gets rid of "any clients that complain". I had others read her comments to me and they felt that she was being heartless, unprofessional, and unaccountable to a loyal customer that hasn't complained once about price, time, or end product. If you want a hairstylist that refuses to take constructive criticism, makes your bad hair appointment about her not willing to own up to her mistakes, and is turning her business into a hobby where she just wants to have girl time at her home studio, oh and will push services you don't want or need then this is a great stylist for you. read more

I came to Hayley after months of trying to book something with a groupon deal. I decided to come in after work and get something done. My hair was gross. Split ends, too long and needed a color to spunk up the flat black I had. All I can say is WOW. She really did a GREAT job! I ended up doing a subtle brown ombre that I absolutely LOVE! I LOVE Hayley. It was my first time there, my friend Sara suggested the place, and I have to say it was the most comfortable experience I've had anywhere really. I had damaged my hair horribly with a John Frieda product, it was a nasty yellowish-orange color (I'm a brunette) my hair was so broken and dry, It was at the point where it looked like I had no option but to shave my head! It was like I had hay for hair. Hayley saved my hair, she did an amazing job dying it black and deep conditioning it. She engaged conversation, she gave me shampoo and conditioning recommendations, etc. I really like her. This happened almost two months ago and my hair is still so healthy, no dead ends, it hasn't faded, it's thick and lustrous, plus she did my eyebrows and I was very happy with the results. This was my third appointment with Hayley from Mint Salon. She is a gem! I like a serious blonding, and she gets the job done just right. Blonde is not as easy as it may seem--so many shades. I like mine to look like it did when I was a kid, as it still fits my skin tone; not quite platinum- no yellow, no ash. She takes her time, but works quickly. She always asks a lot of questions about what I like (Where do you like your part? Would you like me to curl or do you want straight? Want a little backcombing here or there? Bangs just right?) and many other inquiries to make sure she gives you what YOU want. This is the ONLY time I have left a salon feeling like I don't need to go home and do my hair. Some days I feel chatty, some days not so much. She accommodates both moods beautifully. She is down-to-earth and just plain pleasant. Hayley knows haircutting as well, and changed my long, forever-the-same hair into a more current style, but still left me with length. To put a nice bow on a great experience, her prices are extremely reasonable and won't make you feel like you have to "save up" for your next hair rejuvenation!
