You wouldn't know how helpful a few nice words are in a day until you've talked to the lady there and you come out smiling. Definitely a place I'd recommend.

Now that they know me, the cost of things doesn't seem to fluctuate as much as it used to, but it still seems like an expensive excursion whenever I've been there. If you need to buy anything bigger than a can of Coke, then I'd make the effort to go up to Coles 5mins up the road and be sure to check the use-by date on whatever it is you buy, as they have been known to sell outdated products (by mistake I'm sure!). It does stay open till whenever they feel like closing (usually between 11.30 and midnight), so it can be good if you're having a late night craving for pricey snacks, but if you can force yourself to walk up the hill, you might save yourself a couple (read: quite a few) dollars.

I have come in here for a packet of seaweed (instead of crisps) on many an occasion and ended up drunk-shopping and going home with bags of ramen, seaweed, kimchi... it's all here & super-cheap! They also serve 32cm soft-serve ice cream cones here for like $2.80 or something, which is ridiculous and has to be seen to be believed.
