Deceptive billing practices hidden behind a "family safety" sales pitch…read more I recently brought my 2018 Infinity Q50 here for an agreed-upon $89.00 A/C check. Once they had my car in the shop they pushed an extra $115.00 manual labor charge, claiming they "could not" use a diagnostic scanner port in my car because every electrical component had to be checked individually. I questioned that and was told that the port in my car would not read "broken wires, bad ground or power supply." The upcharge was paid for and I drove home. When I got home i did some research and as I suspected their claim was completely false. A 2018 Infinity HVAC computer instantly generates diagnostic codes like open circuit or short to ground and the power supply. The standard, legal procedure in New Jersey is to plug the scanner in under the initial agreed-upon fee of $89.00 first, pull codes, and then present the findings to the customer to request authorization for further manual labor. Instead they skipped the standard legal procedure to manufacture additional labor hours, completely bypassing required procedure. After contacting the service manager by email and giving them the opportunity to refund the upcharged amount they maintained their position even though their own documentation proves my claim to be true. I am filing a formal complaint with the New Jersey division of Consumer Affairs and initiating a credit card dispute for deceptive upcharging. Watch your paperwork very careully here. They claimed their scanner was of no use onmy car and could not read the required codes to diagnose my A/C correctly. My vehicle uses an entirely computer-controlled electronic variable compressor, meaning their advanced scanners are precisely the tools designed to read these electrical faults. They used their advertised "High-Tech" Certifications to justify a "Bait and switch" price upcharge tactic. They refused my written request for a partial refund in writing. As a senior citizen, I do not like getting taken advantage of and neither should you. Be cautious and be wary of the upselling or upcharging

We ended up moving and took it out of the garage to be inspected for 2024 and they flunked it by $2,700 worth of repairs it accumulated while sitting in the garage. It was started twice a week over the winter. What really pissed me off he refused to give us our paperwork saying that it flunked and what it exactly needed. I sold it to a 20 year old for $5,000 Don't be fooled the Attitude is only the beginning!!

I arrive Thursday around 4:30pm just to find out my truck takes "special transmission fluid" and they asked if I can wait an extra day. I waited all day Friday, just to receive no phone call or update. My truck was parked in the same spot I left it Monday and was a waste of time. What kind of service shop doesn't have transmission or brake fluid? Especially with scheduling ahead of time.. No upfront pricing and said I'll need to wait until the job is done to find out the price? That was my experience.

I went into Scotty's thinking my 2006 ford needed a transmission…read more This was based on an evaluation from a Ford dealership. After evaluating my Ford I was told that there was a Technical Bulletin that came out from Ford several years ago. I am impressed that they did the research to evaluate my car. They told me I did NOT NEED A TRANSMISSION. I only needed an update on the vehicle computer. Here's the numbers. Ford wanted $3500 for a rebuilt transmission. A new transmission was $6000. Final cost at Scotty's $150 to evaluate $250 to upload the new software Total $400.00 Can't say enough good things about this place. Talk about trusting a Mecanic!!! They called me at 4 pm and asked why my jeep was there and where were the keys. Ya right, going to act like you didn't see the envelope with my keys then how did you call me if you didn't see the envelope? They said they would get right to work on it. They had a special $350 an axle. They call me an hour later to say it was done. How did they do 4 rotors and brake pads in an hour? Then they charged me $1300. Within 1 week my brake sensors were chirping. After only 6000 miles my brakes and rotors are shot. I drive highway miles, don't have to brake much. I honestly think they didn't do the rotors and put cheap pads on. I will find out when I go to Firestone this time if originally rotors are on. I can see why they permanently closed.
