Our house was built in 2018, and in just a few years we've dealt with plumbing problems, flooring that is sinking and separating, and even gas furnace issues. These are not minor cosmetic concerns--these are serious, costly problems that no homeowner should be facing in such a new house. When we reached out, Haden Homes repeatedly told us it was "just the house settling" and insisted it wasn't their responsibility to fix. That's unacceptable. Settling does not cause widespread floor failure, plumbing issues, and furnace problems. These point to poor workmanship and low-quality construction. The worst part? I too live in a Hayden Home at Olsen Farms and James Williams is awful! i love my house, Candy did an excellent job building it however James Williams made the purchase the worst experience, it began before we closed with him accusing me of entering a house without me without proof, he said he was going to tear up the contract. I was shocked. I was angry. Then I get over it I made peace, I thought him inexperienced and believed he had grown from his mistake. Then a month ago, out of the blue I get an email from him telling me they were canceling my warranty for my foundation because I was causing water intrusion into my foundation and neighbors yard. My foundation was bone dry. He included a text message from the neighbor who had not closed yet, which I thought was a complete breach of privacy. The sprinklers were set by the Haden Landscapers, I had not even looked at them since they installed the controller in the garage, thought I had to have them out because they put some of the sprinkler heads under the fence, and payed extra. Hayden doesn't grade the entire community before they build like other builders, and they removed a huge amount of dirt because they poured the neighbors house much lower. My fence became unstable because they carved away so much dirt from beneath the fence. I texted James Williams to ask him what on earth was going on, his response was " the city would be contacting me" He had turned me into the city! ( at this point the city thinks James Williams is an imbecile. No one ever came to my house to talk to us and look at what was going on- no one even asked us. From looking at the other reviews grading and standing water seems to be something Hayden doesn't comprehend. We have since become friends with the neighbor and we have warned them about James Williams who apparently to cover up for his company's mistake suggested the neighbors sue. My insurance company was outraged by the pictures we sent- they were going to send their attorneys, Hayden finally asked Candy ( who is a really great guy) to fix it. Why couldn't they fix the grading before? my husband talked to Sean on this page and without knowing what was really going on repeated everything James Williams said. Not very smart. And I agree with Eve below, whenever James walks by our house he gives people visiting our community all the personal details he has on each house. We wanted to love our newly built home, unfortunately we were very disappointed. As time went by things were not as they first appeared. Our neighborhood is riddled with poor workmanship and low quality materials. One neighbor had to have multiple inspections to finally have the improperly installed roof replaced. Our roof also needed major repairs. Another neighbor paid for high quality carpet that revealed worn areas in less than a year. Our shower leaked at the bottom after thirteen months, one month after the home warranty. The heater was improperly installed. In fact, the first person who came to fix it asked if we had installed it ourselves! Hayden Homes installed my heating unit in the attic that was not easily accessible. I had to recruit two different services, and only one of them could finally service the heater, but it required consulting with only one of the Hayden servers that could manage it. So the charges were excessive, double charging for a technician, , and Hayden claimed they were within requirements, but their initial technician was unable to service the heater. Hayden claimed their 'inspector' approved the installation and so claimed no liability. I was without heat in mid winter for 4 weeks. And the one technician that managed to solve the problem has left the business. I do not trust Hayden for service- they cut corners, and do not support their home owners. read more

Arrogant. We live next to new construction by Hayden in NW Redmond. they're blasting and grading near Upas and Canyon and NOT using any water to keep down the dust. Trying to call someone, anyone at Hayden yields nothing but voice mail. Buying a home from Hayden can be a bit of a stickler. There is only one thing to remember. If you want it done make sure it is complete before you hand over the check. If it's not done by your move-in, then it's not going to get done. Don't get mad, Don't get disappointed, it just is the way it is. Once they have the money your requests don't matter and there is no one to talk to about it. They will have you send emails to the same person who is already not performing your warranty or promised work. They are nice people and the houses are not terrible but beware if you don't get it done before you walk in then that's on you. There are plenty of reviews and BBB reports that will tell you the same thing time after time. Also if you have them build make sure what you want is in writing and in your hand. I want to share an experience with your warranty technician, Thomas Wells. I am a Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate 43 North and helped a client through a build job with Hayden Homes in the Ashton Estates subdivision in Kuna. He closed on his home in October of 2022, moved in and started enjoying his new home. Unfortunately he ran into a situation this year (2023) that caused him to need to sell after only about 6 short months, we put his home on the market and received an offer. There were a few small items that needed repair and the buyer also had some questions that required a rather detailed response. She was finding conflicting information from various sources and it looked like the deal was in jeopardy of not moving forward. Thomas took care of the warranty items quickly, even returned to the home twice in one day rather than pushing it off to a different day. He was also super helpful providing information to address the buyer's concerns and was able to help her feel comfortable moving forward with the purchase. It's not very common to find people like Thomas, he is an incredible asset for the Hayden Homes team. We are grateful he was the one assigned to us and so thankful that he cared enough to go way out of his way and make sure he did everything he could to help us. Tom Bennett (From Hayden) called me a couple of days later to discuss my issues. He told me he and Sean Bearden would come by to take a look at the things that were not done correctly. Tom and Sean came by on the day and time that was scheduled. They looked at the work that was done and told me they would fix the items the correct way. Sure enough Sean came by fixed the items, the landscape contractor fixed my irrigation issues. I am waiting for the heater contractor to come by and address that problem. The rating is for the "warranty" and people who have the authority to honor that, specifically the President of the Company Steve Klingman and Sean Bearden, the Customer Service Director. Here is our final review: Disappointed but here to help This will be our last review of Hayden Homes. Previously our reviews have given them stellar marks as for the most part our experience was amazing. Fast forward through the warranty process and there are some glaring reminders of "buyer beware." While at the end of the day we love our home, to have a brand-new house that we will have to drop thousands of dollars on to fix is disappointing. So, while we're not going to trash the entire process, we'd like to give advice to people who are considering a Hayden home. First, we'd like to tell you some of the upgrades we paid for that we do love. We know you must pick and choose as funds are limited at the time of purchase, but these have been worth it to us: * Upgraded cabinets. At the time of our purchase they came with soft close. The cabinets are well made. * Upgraded appliances. We got this tip from some people who bought Hayden homes before us. They wished they had upgraded their appliances. We took that tip and splurged there. We are happy we did! * An extra four feet in depth in the garage makes a bigger difference than you might think! We love it! Add the insulation. * Our covered extended patio. We love the outdoors and love watching the stars at night while sitting out there! * We love our fireplace. It's clearly a personal choice because of wall space. * Tile in the master shower * Undercabinet lighting * The upgrade to wood flooring is tricky. We had moved from a home where we had REAL wood planks on our floor. The upgrade offered is not what you think, and the warranty is tricky on that for scratches. We opted for upgrading to the nicer Mohawk laminate floor. It's lovely, durable, and easy to clean. Advice: * This first bit of advice could also be put up in the upgrade column, but sadly while we did some, we did not put enough thought into electrical upgrades. There is so much to think about when you have that meeting, but really think through the electrical outlets, upgrades, ceiling fan mounts and where you would like to place the switches. Remember, once you are in and have placed your furniture, reaching over a chair to flip a switch might be more difficult than you think! And a fix, will affect your brand new finish. * Insist on a final walk through before closing. We had purchased two brand new homes prior to this home and assumed that was standard practice. A walk-through is not part of the business model at Hayden Homes. There is an instructional session wherein you learn about your HVAC system, sprinkler system, and general care of the home. * In an actual walk through, note all imperfections. Sadly, we did not do this. Now, you THINK you will be covered under the Hayden Homes one- year warranty. Think again. We weren't looking for imperfections at our instructional meeting. When we moved in there was snow on the ground. When the snow melted 3 weeks later, we noticed pitting in our driveway. We reported it, WELL within our warranty-within the first month of occupying the home. We researched the issue, and it was simply a bad pour. Another homeowner in the neighborhood had the same issue. Their driveway was repoured. We have tried and tried but been denied our claim under warranty. The president of Hayden Homes, Steve Klingman, does not acknowledge direct email from customers. The Customer Service Director, Sean Bearden, denies claims without coming to see the problem, even after being given many pertinent facts about the causes. He did not even respond to our concern until after the warranty had expired. He claimed our issue was "out of the scope of the warranty," yet we have no actual paperwork saying the warranty does not cover pitting. AND we are the only ones in the neighborhood that has a driveway with pits and holes and is literally deteriorating before our eyes. Sean Bearden also does not respect the professionals that work beneath him that actually see the problem and know construction issues. We are tired of fighting. We want to enjoy our home in our retirement, so are moving on. The people we met-from the realtor Issac Barajas, to the project manager Kory Janin are kind and very professional. We learned however that what they are allowed to do is limited, so protect yourselves if you decide on a Hayden home. We hope this helps. read more

They did a pretty good job. I guess the main thing I'm disappointed in were some of the details. The day I moved in I tried to open my master bedroom door and the whole door fell off the hinges. We purchased our new home in Nampa Idaho late last summer. We loved the floor plan and the look of the neighborhood so agreed to have Hayden build our house. Our real estate agent also recommended Hayden so being from a couple of states away, decided to go with what our agent recommended. One of the custom options we asked for was gravel covered RV parking. Being from several hundred miles away we were not able to fly to Idaho to attend a final walk through but instead trusted Hayden to perform as agreed to. When we arrived in Idaho to close the loan we noticed that the RV parking had not been installed and that there was a large crack in the concrete walkway not far from the front door. We met with the site superintendent to pick up keys after we signed the closing papers and were assured that both items would be fixed quickly. We've now been in the house about six months and have heard nothing from Hayden. I've sent them warranty requests and was assured that there warranty people would contact us. To date.... silence. I've emailed their corporate office and to my surprise was met with (you guessed it).... silence. After paying for RV storage for several months I'm now hiring a contractor to install the RV parking that Hayden was supposed to provide. There are also several other warranty items that they've not responded to. All in all, the house is great. There were a lot of unexpected extras provided such as soft close drawers and after thirty years as a government building inspector I have to say the house is built better than the average. The lack of response to our concerns however makes all of the good things moot. As the saying goes, "One aw poop wipes out ten attaboys." While the home is generally great, the lack of after-sale service makes me wish I'd not bought a home from Hayden. I highly recommend that potential purchasers look elsewhere. -10/7/21 Hayden homes in Rathdrum, ID. has some serious management, and customer care issues to address. We recently purchased a new home in one of their developments and initially were taken care of right up to the day we got our keys. As if we disappeared the following day.. During these first 9 months of ownership we have had many warranty related issues that have not been taken care of. These items are related but not limited to doors coming loose and no longer closing, and slider doors coming loose and falling down, multiple rocks falling off of the front of our house, sinks coming loose, central heater stoped working, come to find out it's been leaking in my attic because it was installed wrong. These are just some of the issues we have had with the construction/labor and materials used to build. I have fixed some of these and others not listed because getting a single item fixed around here is such a pain. They have managed to fix two rocks in the front and send a HVAC tech out for the heater. Now talking about the contract portion of the home purchase that is being neglected. We took keys in December of 2020 and due to weather did not have a painted home or landscape. Our contract addendum stated that these items needed to be done on or before June 1st. The landscape got completed as planned and came out ok, as for the painting we did not see them until the last week of May right before the deadline. The company that was here had one old white van with no company information on it and two individuals working. The 2 painters spent two days painting, smoking, and one of them ridding a skateboard around the front yard to come up with what they called finished I guess. They had managed to paint directly over the dirty house that sat all winter in the snow, rain, and dirt/dust of a construction site. They have painted multiple things that should not have been painted like vent pipes for the heater and weather stripping. They have overspray from dark trim on light walls, and merely sprayed the home with a single coat of paint leaving exposed wood 100% throughout the exterior of the house. Our front door is half painted and they left the exterior lights outside the garage loose and hanging. We also were promised a paint kit for all interior and exterior paint selections which we still have not received. The trim on the bathroom vanity tops I guess was/is a concern as it had to be painted ever so often so they said we would get paint for that as well. We have not received any paint for anything. Now let's talk about the concrete. I understand that concrete can get cracks after it sets. I am not here to complain about minor fractures that have popped up all over our driveway but it's pretty garbage work. I am here to complain about the workers they sent out to fix the sidewalk that in the process took a big chip out of our driveway. We never called anybody about the sidewalk that was broken the city apparently took it upon themselves to have Haden homes fix it. We didn't even know they were going to be ripping it out till they showed up and requested us to move our cars out of our driveway (5 min notice by project manager). Great notice and inconvenient timing considering we have family visiting. This is where we sit right now with 10' of concrete missing on the sidewalk and no safety equipment around the hole, no where for our family to park, and our new driveway chipped. Why demo the sidewalk if you didn't plan on repairing for a week or moand leaving the hole open is a welcome sign for a trip and fall lawyer. Let's see what they plan on doing to fix our driveway as the project manager says they can just patch it. Pretty sure you don't just patch a new driveway, it's just going to continue to erode and crack as time goes by. I am pretty frustrated with all who are involved with warranty claims and the lack of effort to just get things done. The paint is now being considered a warranty claim but in my opinion, it is a breach of contract as the home is not fully painted. What was done is a cover up for a lack of professionalism and neglect of their clients and contracts. Our home was built quickly and poorly, and I can speak for my self and our neighbors when I say these builders only care about the money and they have no pride in what they do. My opinion for those looking into Hayden Homes as of now is to pick a different builder and read all of the reviews before you do business with any of them. -Hayden Homes has the ability to change my opinion based on how they handle these problems moving forward. ...I will gladly add updates as we continue to roll through all of these problems. read more

Not enough space here to tell all the issues. Just the latest. The microwave oven mounted above our gas range was really f'd up. Besides having failed electronically twice in 6 yrs, it had always exhausted warm air from the top and sides while using the exhaust fan on it. We thought it was normal and had an inside the microwave filtering system. This last time it failed we just bought an on the counter microwave and decided to put in a range hood that exhausted to a vent and outside. The contractor is here right now and we found the venting was installed f'd up, and actually has a vent to the roof! It was supposed to vent outside and never could. We live behind the homes being built by Hayden Homes. For the last 6 months we gave dealt with dust, noise at 7 am to dust. No consideration for us at all. Houses are so close to our fence. We haven't had any time this summer because of excavators, hammering at all hours, and now a two story being built behind our neighbors where they upper level looks right into their bedroom. Have tried to call Hayden Homes in our area of Dallas Oregon but only got ahold of a very upset man. This morning in the dark at 7 am an excavator was running next door. The workers drop the boards and the dust flies. We think Hayden should pay for window washing and washing off of all the dust on our homes. So glad we didn't buy from them. read more

We built with Hayden Homes 2 years ago. We were very impressed with the Yakima office. Dana was wonderful and walked us through every detail. There were no hidden surprises. We have friends that have built with other home builders and have heard nightmare stories, many paying thousands out of pocket with hidden things. Thankfully there was none of that with Simplicity. Our project manger, Corey, was phenomenal. We had delays, but all to be expected when building through the winter. Corey and his team went over and beyond our expectations. The communication was spot on and we most always knew what was going on. I can not say enough good things about them. We love our home and it was built with quality and correctly. My buddy was told that his neighborhood would not qualify for this bonus... This is FALSE advertising and my cousin does tik-tok videos with 9.5 million views and has THOUSANDS of followers about landscaping and home remodeling. They're working on making a video right now about their false advertising. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Watch out for these guys trying to trick customers. And the worse part is, my friend is a SENIOR CITIZEN and they are trying to take advantage of him, if anyone else is dealing with the false advertising, please leave a message and leave a review. When the warranty team came over they redid a few things (like the kitchen corner top caulking and it cracked the next day again, nailed in the garage seals, changed the piece of flooring that was a different color, left allot of glue on the floor so it's very glossy which is not normal. I have never tried so hard to pay a company $200,000 + and they didn't seem to want to take it. We had land and were approved for a construction loan. It took months to settle on a floorplan because the salesperson couldn't be bothered to get back to us in a timely manner. Weeks would go by after I requested a quote and I had to follow up and nag multiple times. I should have taken it as a bad sign from the beginning. You really shouldn't have to chase someone to pay them $200,000 +. After we had finally agreed upon a floorplan and sent it for engineering, Hayden Homes came back at us and said the land was too complicated for them to build a foundation on and they couldn't work with us. We just moved into our house this winter (1-2 month late move in) and we love the interior of our house, however, we do not appreciate the water pooling at the side of our house and in our backyard very close to our house foundation. Although our Hayden representative (changed 3 times in 6 months) keeps saying we have nothing to be concerned about and they cannot grade until Spring, we are very concerned and unsatisfied about the growing huge ponds (plural) of water in our backyard and house side with water likely to seep into our crawl space. All of the other houses do not have water pooling when having a decent rough grade. Unfortunately, our exterior paint touch ups, front yard, and the re-do of our driveway needs to take place in the Spring. Additionally, cold air is seeping into our house through our front door and laundry door. A perfect example of how Hayden Homes deals with customer service complaints - they state as fact things that are not true then point in a false direction, never owning up to or even acknowledging the problems they caused. "We have taken all steps to ensure your request was evaluated and addressed" is completely false. "The solution approved by the City and engineers will offer you safety" is true, as far as it goes, but it completely misstates the issue. I have never - not once - complained about the integrity or necessity of the retaining wall Hayden installed. The problem was always- and remains - that they removed my cinder-block steps which provided safe access to the easement behind my home. Yes, I put in a warranty request for the failing decks attached to my house, and yes, Hayden fixed that problem, but they created a new problem for me when they removed my access steps. I need safe access to the easement behind my home because I signed a contract with them obligating me to maintain that portion of the easement. On the day Hayden installed the new retaining wall, I pointed out the problem to their customer care rep, Heather. She promised to fix the problem and reestablish access by installing new steps at a later date. Months later, Hayden claimed the original steps never existed in the first place, so they were not obligated to put in new ones. Customer Care Heather has since refused to reply to my voice mails or emails. The main office did likewise. For months, they refused to communicate with me until I filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Their response to the BBB was full of misinformation and beside-the-point claims, the same as this Yelp review response. They continue to claim my request was evaluated and addressed, but my true complaint hasn't even been acknowledged. They fixed one problem but have refused to acknowledge the problem they subsequently created. Instead, they lied about the access steps, tried to blame me, and then avoided all communications from me. Their reply to the BBB contains misleading information and insulting lies. That is how they have addressed the situation. And now, most of a year later, they apologize for "any disappointment or miscommunication." Hogwash. They haven't taken any responsibility for, nor even acknowledged, the access steps they removed, and they haven't acknowledged the broken promise made by customer care rep, Heather. Anyone considering doing business with Hayden Homes should take note of these Yelp reviews and the BBB complaints against them. Their promises are empty and their apologies are self-serving. If I could give zero stars, I would. It seems as though this company has apparently made all of the money it wants to make. I had my realtor contact Hayden Homes on Friday (01/15/21) and never received a return call until 3 days later on Monday (01/18/21) afternoon when they stated that we needed to make an appointment and to give them a call back to schedule. Obviously the busiest time that people want to look at homes is on the weekend, but this doesn't matter to them. We looked at our schedules and came up with a few days/times to fit their schedules, so our realtor again called them on Tues morning (01/19/21) to tell them what we decided. It's now Wed (01/20/21), our realtor has called them 3 times and left a message, but again.....no return call. From this experience and when comparing it to others saying they can get no return call for warranty items, I would advise staying away from this company. They clearly have issues with customer service. There are a lot of home builders in the Boise area that would love to take my $400k. Heather that works for Hayden Homes is such a joy to be around. I believe that if we talked to anyone else when looking into Hayden homes we would have not gone with it. Heather is so knowledgeable on everything about each different floor plan and what goes in the homes. She sends frequent updates on how the progress of your home which is so amazing when you are so anxious about your new home. Travis our project manager was absolutely amazing when you have the chance to do your pre-drywall walk take that chance! Travis's knows everything inside and out of your homes we had so many questions when walking with him and he knew an answer to all of them! Shea is the one that handles all of the warranty's on your home he is such a great guy. He makes the ease of buying a new home less scary on what's covered and how to go about it. We had issues with our dishwasher which WAS OUT OF HAYDENS CONTROL and was the appliance company's fault and Shea handled it all. His sense of urgency to get it resolved was amazing. One thing about my Hayden home is that who ever designed it did a stellar job. I love the design. However, the execution done by Hayden Homes leaves a lot to be desired. I wish I would have checked yelp before I purchased my house in Cheney, WA. Not everything is perfect no matter where you get a new home from. The mark of a good builder is what they do when something is wrong. Unfortunately Hayden Homes makes everything a big fight to get thing done instead of just fixing it. When they do finally fix whatever the problem it is you can bet it will not be done right. We had problems with the grading. We had a landscaper put in French drains to handle the water coming into our yard from the three houses to our right that sit higher than our house. We had to have a the sprinklers re-done by another contractor because Hayden Homes put the sprinkler heads right next to the house even though the warranty booklet given to us at walkthrough states sprinklers should not be within 12" of the structure. We begged them to cover the hardwood floors because contractors were walking all over it and their take was that they would just fix the scratches (I don't want fixed floors I want my new floors undamaged). Same thing for the tubs. When one of the workers put a faceplate over the cleat that holds up a shelf they were going to just cut the cleat instead of moving the outlet (see the picture I attached). They also had two faceplates that had to be cut down because they put the box too close to the trim on the door and now for the rest of the life of the house I have to deal with trying to cut a faceplate if I want to change it out. Check your contract. We paid for under cabinet lights and that was a three month fight to get them to do what the contract said and put them under the desk cabinet. I even had to show them pictures of the model that had the lights under that. Another contract item we had to insist they do is put window ledges in the bathrooms. The contract stated that with the package we picked it would have window sills on all windows, but they said that didn't include bathroom windows when we brought it up to them. This is just a few of the problems we had and I could go on and on with more and this isn't even the worst but if you do get them to fix something substantial you will have to sign a non-disclosure form so I can't tell you about those (plural). read more

The best way to describe buying a home from Hayden Homes is its a lot like eating at McDonalds. The food visually looks good, the staff are quite friendly, the food tastes good going down, but the biggest issue is the diarrhea that follows after the meal has been consumed. We bought a brand new Hayden Home a couple years ago, and up until we moved in we thought we made a good choice. 75% of the staff were friendly and helpful during the design and build process, which was nice considering we were first time home buyers. But we had many hiccups along the way. Some issues were Hayden homes painted the house the wrong color, causing us to have to pay more out of pocket to have it repainted again before we took ownership (yes, they made us and our realtor pay a portion of the repainting as if we made the mistake). The doors in the house didn't shut right for over a year, and the garage man door still to this day creates a puddle of water inside our garage every time it rains. The grout was to be "repaired" a year after we moved in, they told us that would happen before we even moved in. Grout is still not fixed and water gets under the flooring in the bathrooms due to the grout not being fixed. Getting repairs done after you have taken ownership is like pulling teeth. They come back numerous times and put bandaids on the problem and dont fix the issue completely. Oh and every single neighbor has drainage issues in the backyards. Apparently its a Hayden Home staple, to have flooded backyards. When it rains, all of our backyards either turn into quicksand, or a soupy grassland that you'll sink into halfway to your knees. I dare not go back there in a heavy rain, except in emergencies when the neighbors rain runoff creates a river into my yard threatening to flood my shed. Throughout the neighborhood, there is white spray painted X's on the sidewalks where they marked concrete to be replaced due to cracks and pieces missing. Those were never fixed or replaced, just graffitti'd with a white X then left alone. The planter strip between the sidewalk and road throughout the neighborhood was filled in with river rock, but not lined with weed barrier so in the spring and summer everyone gets weeds and it makes the neighborhood look quite ghetto. Remember, this neighborhood is less than 2 years old. I feel bad for the elderly ladies that bought homes in our neighborhood and physically cannot tackle the terrible landscaping that Hayden gave them. All landscaping is done as cheap as possible, with no soil amendment under the sod, just clay under sod. Most everyone struggles with keeping their landscape alive. Plan on having to replace the landscape after you move in. Also, inside the house, everything has been done as cheaply as possible, which Hayden Homes will tell you "its to pass along the value to the customer". Make sure you are handy with repairs if you plan to buy a Hayden Home. Both towel racks wiggled loose and fell out within the first 6 months of living in the house, held into the wall in the drywall only. Doors don't sit correct, floors squeak (we call our house the haunted house because walking around in it sounds like we are living in a 100 year old house), wall squeak.... yes i said walls, never thought walls could squeak but they do in a Hayden Home. Oh and some of the contractors they use are some of the most low life individuals they can find locally. Nothing like hearing a fencing crew cuss out and belittle their "new guy" on the job while I'm making my daughter breakfast in the morning or listening to the concrete crew cuss out Shane because Shane asked them to do the job correctly and not cut corners. in conclusion, if you plan on buying a Hayden home, make sure you have extra money or the skills to fix all the half ass work that goes into building these homes. Understand that you are buying a fast food version of a new home and you should expect the diarrhea that will follow. If you can afford to buy a home from a quality home builder, I'd recommend going that route, but we didn't know. We are young and dumb and took the bait of the cheapest new homes that "pass the value along to the customer". You've all been forewarned. read more

I have heard horror stories about Hayden homes, so I was never tempted to purchase. Instead I bought my first home near an open field. Within a year Hayden Homes was going to build in the field. How did they present it this to my entire street? They put a letter on everyone's door telling them to move their fence or they will move if for us. After not getting any understanding from Hayden Homes everyone moved their fence. They put up a temporary fence for a bit and my dog ran away because the fence was their usual quality. Point is, Hayden's prices are so low because the quality and the customer service is very poor. read more

I purchased a Hayden home in Caldwell Idaho in March 2018. I've had numerous defects which were covered under warranty. Response to complaints were responded to and handled very quickly. One major complaint has yet to be handled. The warranty service representative was shown major rippling of the carpet in our master bedroom. He advised that the carpet installer would contact us. That was 2 weeks ago. I will be contacting Hayden regarding this. This carpet issue is not normal for carpet installation. I have never seen a carpet ripple so badly in previous rentals and home purchases. I believe it is the quality of the carpet. I would like Hayden to replace it with their upgraded type. Unsure if this will be satisfactory has I was told the upgraded type is not very high quality. My home warranty expires in March 2019. I purchased my home with carpet that I believed would be of value. I can't be left with this unresolved! Another request has not been responded to in the way that I would like. We have had heavy flooding in our backyard due to problem neighbors and rain storms. All my efforts with neighbors have availed me no advantage. I have asked Hayden for extra dirt to fill my backyard since so much construction has been going on. Warranty department has advised the backyard is filled per code. I asked a Hayden production manager for help and he advised that he would. He never called and never responded to my messages. I recently found that this manager was temporary. I've recently planted 2 new trees and fear they will die with so much water. Will Hayden still help?? I just found out that it would cost me over $500.00 for dirt and delivery fees.
