The first guy scammed me into getting a package that wasn't needed and when I asked about it after, They said, oh we found out about that and we fired him. When I asked what will they do to refund me they said do some jobs for free and then never did those jobs. I had a very disappointing experience with this company in Monroe, Ohio. So this would be from their Trenton office. A salesperson came to my home despite a clearly posted "No Soliciting" sign and used extremely high-pressure sales tactics that made me uncomfortable. I ultimately agreed in the moment just to get rid of him, but later realized I did not want or need the service. I put out a sign for a reason and they just ignored it. Thankfully they take this seriously in Monroe, I checked and they did not have a solicitor's permit, nor did they get any approval from the city. After attempting to cancel, I was informed I would still owe a $199 cancellation fee under an 18-month agreement. Although they removed their bait box and stopped service, they continued attempting to charge my account after I disputed the agreement. I also have doorbell camera footage documenting the interaction. Due to the way this situation was handled, I felt it was necessary to report the matter to the Ohio Attorney General's Office. Consumers should read the contract very carefully before agreeing to any door-to-door services. read more

Charles did a good job in cleaning the cobwebs and treating the house for pests and applying the treatment to the yard, but he left a gate open and two of our dogs got out of the yard. Fortunately a neighbor brought them home. This is not the first time that someone from Hawx has left a gate open and I have spoken to them about it in the past and I thought they the issue was fixed. This has been one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. The service was sold to us by a teenager going door to door who used high-pressure tactics to get us to sign up. While their service was passable, I didn't notice any real improvement in the ant problem around the house - but that's a separate issue. A year later, I called to cancel and was met with endless runarounds. Even after they agreed to cancel, they conveniently "forgot" to enter it into their system, and I was charged again the following month. When I called back, I was transferred to an "account manager" whose only goal seemed to be pressuring me to change my mind. It wasn't until I threatened legal action that they finally processed the cancellation - but they still refused to refund the most recent charge. I've reported the recent charge as an unauthorized transaction to my credit card company. In my view, this company operates dishonestly and takes advantage of customers. These people came to my house months ago, talked to our grandma who lives in the other unit, NOT the homeowners, she signed up for a service that I then very quickly called not only the technician, but their office, and both assured me that what she signed would be "torn up" and no services have been provided. They just had the audacity to, months later, charge grandma for a service never provided. These people are scum, never trust a door to door salesman. This happened in Monroe Ohio, and for any of my fellow Monroe people, remember, door to door solicitors MUST have a signed permit to solicit in our city, the permit is for the day they are doing it, and the permit includes their description, what they are wearing, etc. Don't put up with these people, call the cops, and get this scam company out of our neighborhoods. read more

Then you tell them to make sure they cancel at the end of the contract, they dont. Hi. We have a serious issue with a group of your door to door salespeople. They are residing in a neighborhood in Austin, Texas. I attempted to contact you through website and social media to provide specifics, but there was no response. Your company is running a business in an area in which the HOA does not allow businesses to be ran in the community. Most mornings there are 12 to 20 salespeople in your company shirts and hats at the house for what they say is their team meeting.  The biggest issue is they are driving recklessly in the cul de sac near the house and through the neighborhood on a regular basis. This morning one of them driving a black newer model camero peeled out in the neighborhood from the cul de sac turning onto the side road and was going sideways down the side road due to peeling out. There were people jogging and walking with their kids during this time in close proximity. This obviously is a safety issue as this behavior is reckless, as well as disruptive, and all of this is being done while representing your company. I would like to think that a company rooted in service to communities would also be considerate of community safety and respect. I hope that you take this seriously and address this with the people representing your company in this community, and the communities they disperse to for door to door sales. I also hope this is addressed before one of your company's representatives seriously injures, or worse, someone with their reckless behavior. read more

This is a cheating. They walked house to house to invite for their bug termination services. They said I could terminate the services anytime if it was not effective. I called them and terminate the service after 2 months and I had photo proof of mosquitoes biting me. They charged me $285 (equivalent to 3 months paying), reasoning that since they had a discount plan for me, and I terminated the service I had to pay all the discount. And mosquitoes still around were within their reproductive cycles so it was normal, They claimed that they put in their contract. Well, the marketing agent never mentioned this. This place is a scam. They originally wanted to sell me a quarterly treatment at a "discounted" $64 per month and told them no. The salesperson then came up with a special first year customer rate of the same rate quarterly to which I agreed. When agreeing on the iPad they must have changed it back to monthly but was not shown on the screen when signing. Once I noticed them billing me monthly I cancelled the account but had to pay a $199.00 cancellation fee. Still cheaper than paying $64 a month for 12 months for lackluster pest control treatment. The staff is very nice and polite when you call. I have had to ask for extra services since what they were doing to get rid of the spiders wasn't working. They finally sent out a technician who did what was necessary and she greatly diminished the problem... Since then the spiders have returned and when I have called for service they continue to cancel the treatment when it is needed most. they have cancelled on us 3 times. Very poor business practice. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. If I could rate this company 0/10 I would. The salesman kept coming back to our door, saying the service charge would be $375 but eventually came down to $49. Too good to be true? Wrong. Fibbed and said the contract covers a subscription but you can 'cancel at anytime' if you sign today. Failed to mention the termination/cancellation fee was $200 (plus the charge of the BS service fee). No matter the price they offer the service charge at, DON'T OVERLOOK THE CANCELLATION FEE. After they came and did a sub par, 10 min job, we've had ants and mosquitos non stop since. Ants on the inside of our window paneling and cobwebs very present on our porch. It's now been 2 days since the services and we've seen 0 improvement, let alone worse outcome. I have a newborn and toddler at home and we're constantly finding ants- it's disgusting and unsanitary. They never even did services inside as promised, so why are new ants coming in? So foul. When I went to cancel the subscription (had to be over the phone FYI), customer service refused to speak to me since my name wasn't on the account, but my husbands. When my husband called, he was on the phone for 15 mins, passed around like a hot potato with 3 representatives, asking his phone number, address and email address each time, but never the account number. They haggled him over and over to keep his services with them, giving plenty of reasons why, but eventually listened. They said we fell 'in the 3 day window' and we could cancel. Nowhere in the contract did it mention a 3 day window. And it had been 5 days since the salesman came to the door, so that's obviously a BS, made up reason. About 12:20 PM, a man in his twenties wearing a ball cap on backwards, and white pullover shirt with the letters "HAWX" on the chest, rang our doorbell. When I asked what he wanted, he said: "Do you want the short, or the long version?" When I replied "What?" he gestured to a neighboring house (which is vacant) and said something like: "We're going to be here tomorrow... so, do you want us to treat yours too?" As I did not understand the purpose of his presence, I requested to know what this was about? He simply repeated his gesture and the prior statement. Again, I asked what this was about, and added what company was he representing? He repeated his statement, and sternly added, "If you don't want your lawn treated for moles, okay!" At this, I stated I did not require his services and asked him to leave my property. To this, he rendered an obscene gesture and turned away. As this door-to-door solicitor was not wearing company identification, and he was acting in such an unprofessional manner, I suspected he did not hold the required city solicitor's permit. As such, I informed him the local police were being called. To this, he repeated his obscene gesture as he walked out to my driveway, mounted a Segway scooter and departed the area; continuing the obscene gesture most of the way up the street. About ten minutes later, a local police officer caught up with this person and identified him as a representative of 'HAWX PEST CONTROL' out of Hamilton, Ohio (home office in North Carolina). Additionally, the officer determined he did not have the required city solicitor's permit. As such, this person was advised to leave the city, and not resume his activities without one. Bottom line: If this is the caliber of employee representing 'HAWX PEST CONTROL' to the public, I most certainly don't want anyone from this company coming on my property for anything; including the control of pest like him. read more

BEWARE!!! Absolutely do not use this company! Someone came to our house (Jacob) to sell their services. We declined stating we've used another company for years. We talked for a while and finally we agreed to try them out. When we went to sign he explained we'd be charged just under $90 a month. We refused. He then tried to sell us a quarterly rate, we refused. Finally he said he'd offer us a one time service for just under $60. We repeated back to him that we couldn't do anything monthly and it's a one time thing. He agreed and had us sign our "receipt" on his pad (either phone or small tablet). He told us our receipt would be emailed to us. The money came out of our account for that service and then a few weeks later, just under $90 was withdrawn from our account. We called Hawx and explained what happened and they said we signed a contract for their monthly service and if we want to cancel we have to pay $199.00 and they won't cancel the agreement otherwise. Obviously the company itself is fraudulent or they wouldn't allow their sales people to continually commit fraud- just check out their other reviews, they've done the same thing to tons of other people. I did file a complaint with the BBB but they said they cant do anything becuse we "signed" the contract. The kicker, its not my signature. Its an electronic signature the kind they generate in a cursive font. So I guess when we signed what he said was the receipt for our one time purchase, that was actually an approval to put a fake digital signature on whatever they want. PS we only had them spray outside but if they actually did it, it wasnt successful. read more
