On our first attempt, we attended a work outing in the mezzanine area that got rained out after the 1st inning. Super disappointing. (Normally if the game is rained out, ticket holders are able to return for the rescheduled game. But they took our tickets when we entered the mezzanine.) This area has a great view from right field and groups can enjoy complimentary food and beverage throughout the game. Luckily, the other day I won a set of tickets from work and it turned out to be a beautiful evening so we were able to enjoy the entire game. The stadium is super clean and comfortable. Walking around the concessions area seems a little crowded but sitting never seems as full. (Typical minor leagues game.) There's plenty of free parking around the stadium, even after the game has started, and getting out isn't an absolute nightmare especially because the crowds clear out as the game goes on. Concession stand pricing is inflated as usual, but they seem to offer specials on a regular basis. Tickets are super affordable. All around it's a great option for cheap, wholesome fun!

The concessions were alright. The place is shaped like a real baseball stadium and not the rectangle shaped CHS field in St Paul. This is literally the only ballpark where they will give you samples of Iowa craft beer on tap. Super friendly and prices are adequate. No outfield seating. Can't wait to return. We came from Twin Cities, MN area about 4 hours away. Upon leaving I snapped the photo, it was fitting as it was memorial weekend.

There are chairs in front of the stage, seat walls and terraced lawns for blanket and lawn chair seating. I came to see Tenecious D in late September. I was able to get in and find my assigned seat with no problem. Everything sounded great and looked great. The staff seemed to be helpful. I wish there had been a screen so I could see Jack Black a bit better, but also because I am sure people on the lawn could not really see anything... A couple of reasons I think it is just 'ok' - Bathroom situation. Since it is just portapotties, you'd think that you wouldn't have to stand in forever long lines-- lines that run into other lines and impede the walkway. - 'Food Court' was just hot dogs and hamburgers. While I did see one restaurant (Carlos O Kellys) set up inside, I was shocked there weren't more food trucks or other small businesses. - Holy beer line! I was shocked at how long the beer line was-- college and professional sporting events have shorter lines. - Parking. We lucked out with street parking nearby-- know it is not plentiful and be prepared to both parallel park and walk. Overall, I would come to another show at McGrath! Concert season is May through October so keep any eye out.

I can't overlook how magical it is to be an Iowa-native and walk into this roaring stadium on a Saturdays. The last time I came to a game was against Michigan State during Iowa's 2025-2026 campaign. Our guys should have stomped the yard against them and ended up winning on a field goal as time expired. Classic. Epic seats for that one as well. There's no place like Kinnick Stadium on College Game Day. A few tips- - Arrive Early-- while they now have metal detectors at entries which speeds things up, it does take 15 or so minutes to get to your seat. - There's no re-entry. - Cashless! Bring your credit card. - Digital Tickets. Be sure yours are loaded in your wallet on your cell phone. - Alcohol is served in the stadium. Two beers per person at a time. - Clear Totes Only. 12x12 limit. - Checkout the Nile Kinnick statue! Oh, and don't forget to Wave! Between the first and second quarter fans are asked to wave to the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital. Make the kiddos' and families' day a bit brighter-- they are fighting to get healthy each day for various reasons. Overall, there's not a ton of amazing things to do in Iowa. But attending a Hawkeye football game at Kinnick is indeed amazing and worth a trip.

The length of time we spend waiting in line to purchase a drink is RIDICULOUS. Last night for Snoop Dogg I spent OVER 45 minutes in line for a beer. Unacceptable. Security has no experience and any little thing will hold up the lines for a long time. Since it's so small, it's hard to get around without bump into others and spilling drinks. The bar staff is probably the worst part. You will be waiting for 15-30 minutes in line at a bar for $20 drinks that are nothing but soda (2 oz liquor 15 oz soda), if they get that right. I ordered a vodka tonic that the bartender asked about 4 times and each time it was wrong! You are guaranteed to miss 20-30 minutes of any performance if you decide to leave to get a drink. Seat is like being on a small plane, extremely tight and narrow. If you move suddenly you are bound to hit the people next to you. If you stand up, you'll be blocking everyone. And being seated will make your knees and back cramp. The only reason they get 2 stars is due to cleanliness of the building, $15 parking and the view from our seats which is due to the size. Otherwise expect Chicago prices and attitude.

The Iowa Hawkeyes volleyball teams and the professional ice hockey team Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL both play here. The arena is also attached to GreenState Family Fieldhouse which houses five different courts. As someone who played competitive basketball for years as a kid, I can totally see some amazing tournaments being hosted here! I came for a Friday night Heartlanders game. What an amazing atmosphere. and a beautiful facility. Staff was very friendly. Food was actually pretty darn good for arena food-- those brats, kettle chips and chicken tenders were crowd pleasers! PRO TIP: Don't forget to bring a clear bag! +'s Craft beer in 16oz cans. I love that Big Grove and Backpocket is sold here! Hockey. Holy cow. I haven't watched a hockey game in-person since I lived in Denver. I love that we now have a hometown team to root on. -'s Parking. I don't know if maybe a parking ramp is in the future, but be warned parking is a bit tricky as of now. Price. I found pricing to be a bit high when it came to getting the party suite. I am used to getting all inclusive tickets or party suites at MLB games and the bang for buck of going to a Heartlanders game is less, surprisingly. Keep a lookout for upcoming children's shows (Disney on Ice) and other sporting events! I know I'll be back many, many times.

My wife and I are Iowa season ticket holders, but we both attended UNI. It was awesome to watch the Hawks a little closer than usual in a new, smaller venue. Sure, when the place is packed, you have to stand in line for your drink, but have you ever been to a huge place like the Amway Center in Orlando? I have, and it's not pleasant, waiting in line.
