She also explained that rather than trying to get the muscles to relax, with trauma, that might bring up more emotions than I wanted, and to let my body unwind naturally. So, her pressure and focus was more on my sense of integrity and wholeness rather than on "fixing" my body. I so appreciated that and her gentle and wise style. With every session Sara takes time to ask questions about my physical condition and assess my massage needs. She then explains what she's going to focus on for that individual treatment. Throughout the massage she consistently checks in on things such as pressure, comfort and temperature. She is also keenly aware of what is going on with my body, and can find spots which I neglected to mention that need attention. She asks for feedback once the session is over and often checks in on my condition over the next day or two via email. In my professional life I have the fortunate opportunity to visit 4 and 5 star spas and resorts around the country. I often take advantage of the massage services at these locations. I hate to admit that I actually shed a few tears after leaving Bahama Mama's earlier today. I went…read morein for a shellac pedicure and received my worst polish job to date. I literally just picked a hang nail/callused skin off my big toe as I typed this. The polish is uneven near my cuticles, it does not cover the sides of the nails, and there is plenty of polish stuck to the skin around my nails and cuticles. The tech dropped the UV light on my toe nails. I arrived and was greeted by no one. The nail tech asked if I was there for a pedicure and told me to pick a color. I clarified that I was there for shellac, to which the woman replied "oh no." I then waited 25 minutes so that she could run to her house and get the UV light, as she thought I was there for a regular pedi and was not prepared. After waiting 20 minutes, I moved my car because street parking was 1 hour. I confirmed at the desk that I was indeed scheduled for shellac. When she returned, she used the water that she had started with 25 minutes ago, which was then cold. I do not pamper myself very often and was really looking forward to having beautiful toenails. Now I am stuck with a bad polish job and am out $48 (40+20% tip). I am unbelievably disappointed and will most likely go to a different salon later this week to have them redone.

I needed some shaping/trimming to a bob that's growing out. I am not one to fuss about my hair, but it's always a little nerve wracking to try out a new stylist. Silly me, I shouldn't have worried! DeAnn gave me exactly the subtle, asymmetrical look I was going for, and was confident and conversational the whole time. Amazingly affordable for the quality.
