Bought a bed with sales manager, Pete. He was very accommodating. Bed was delivered as promised. Timely and professional, men laid out carpet, wore booties and gloves. Second floor bedroom and they were done in 20min maybe less. This is my first time shopping with Havertys' but based on this experience, I would certainly shop there again. Can't speak to the quality of the furniture, yet. It does seem very sturdy and heavy. Looks like it should hold up over the years. read more

Bought a couple of lamps from Victor a few weeks ago, and received extremely friendly and helpful service. He was there for us after the sale when I needed him, and provided great follow up service. The quality is not good. You would think purchasing from I would consider high end furniture store you would get a good wood quality. My bed has chipped from the headboard and I realize it's made of a heavy plastic and now one of the side rails chipped and it was COMPRESSED CARDBOARD! HORRIBLE customer service from top to bottom. Waited 6 weeks for a kitchen table and then delivery people showed up without the necessary parts. They did nothing to help resolve the matter and Havertys rep told me to refuse delivery, which I did. Later. I called my salesperson who assured me that the situation would be resolved "soon." After not hearing anything, I had to call back and was told I should not have followed the rep's advice to refuse the table. The following day, I was informed the original table had been assigned to another customer and that it would 5 weeks for a new table to arrive. Basically, I have dealt with unhelpful, incompetent employees at every level of the company. DO NOT SHOP AT HAVERTYS - especially the Mall of GA location. read more

My husband and I went into the Buford location entrance to the Mall of Georgia because we just moved to the area and I'm looking for a new couch. For reference, I'm a 39 year old woman and my husband is 52 and heavily tattooed (hands, neck, face). My husband went to use their restroom and was followed by 3 salesmen. Another salesman who said his name was Leonard or Lawrence or something like that asked if he was with me, I said who, the guy with the red shirt and tattoos? Yes he's with me. The salesman gave me the "if you need anything please let me know" shpiel but then went to join the other 3 salesmen who were now following my husband like we were in a New York bodega and they thought he was going to steal something. It was ridiculous and disrespectful. They followed us around the store staring at us about 5 feet behind us until we left into the mall. Never giving any Havertys location any of my business now. Terrible staff, rude, discriminatory. Don't shop here. read more

I have always bought my furniture from Havertys. People are always kind and helpful. However, I bought furniture last Sept2018 and I haven't even had it for a year and the wooden bed rail already broke. My husband fixed it so now it's sturdy but when I called I advised about this. They wanted to send a technician out, but at this point it's too late since we fixed the problem. I paid $1k for this bed and I can't believe the quality is shot. Here is a hint to you salesmen - The first thing you say when introducing yourself to a customer should not be in a tone that they cannot afford the piece of furniture they are looking at. Also, do not lie and say a sale is ending this Sunday the 27th, when I received an email that the stating the sale lasts for another 2 weeks until April 10th. Also, please keep your attention, respect, and focus on the customer - You are working on commission after all. Now I know Haverty's is not exactly the best furniture, but i needed something inexpensive for a spare room. After entering the store, I was stopped to look at the first couch I walked by, when RON RILEY the floor manager approached me and said "You know that's $1300 right?" Now, I am no millionaire, I look about 15 years younger than my real age,and after all I am looking for furniture at Havertys, but that is no excuse. C'mon what happened to common courtesy? As Ron went and showed me around to the furniture, he had the nerve to sit down and relax himself and start pointing out the different couches nearby. I guess it was too much for him to stay standing and walk 2-3 feet. Well guess what Mr. Ron Riley? The next day I went to Haverty's at Gwinnett place mall and purchased the more expensive couch I was looking at. And unlike yourself, the salesperson treated me with respect and kept their attention to me. read more

We have purchased furniture at Haverty's before and had a good experience, so we went back last week for living room furniture. Ron Riley was our salesperson and unlike the other reviewer we had a positive experience. Furniture sells itself....you either like it or you don't. If you don't then you move onto another store and start the process all over again. We thought Ron was helpful and we enjoyed working with him. Haverty's does sell expensive higher quality furniture but we knew that walking in. Their prices were in line with other retailers in the area and they had what we liked....so we purchased. The furniture was delivered two days later and the delivery people were fantastic. They unpacked / unwrapped everything in the driveway, put the cushions on plastic so they didn't touch the ground and carried everything in. Would I recommend Haverty's? Yes, I would. Will I go back the next time I need furniture? Yes. Finally, would I seek Ron Riley out and work with him again? Yes, I would. Looks like a trifecta to me. Your experience might be different then ours was but unless you see for yourself, you will never know. read more

I realize a lot of real reviews are bad, and I must add another. But buyers be warned. I bought a power black leather recliner from here as a gift for my mother back in early March 2020 and had it delivered. It was delivered broken with the arm nearly falling off. Was told it would take a while because it was out of stock/ on back order. We made do best we could, but my mother sleeps in the chair so hard to not just replace it. I had done business with Haverty's before and was pleased with their product so I gave them another chance. Then the COVID pandemic hit. Long story short, today we finally got our replacement! It was a light beige manual recliner. Completely not what was ordered 3 months ago. Upon calling Havertys back was apologized to and what little comfort that could be offered was in the form that at least they were replacing it for me. And to try and be as honest about this review a I can, upon telling them of delivering me a broken product previously and waiting forever for it to be replaced (albeit with wrong item) I was credited a while $50 of the delivery fee. I was also told today they would have to look into my request to get a full refund for a product I ordered 3 months ago and still have yet to receive in the condition it was purported to be in when purchased. Ultimately I was advised they will refund and pick back up the wrong item. Disaster from a store and a name brand that I wholeheartedly believed better than this. At these prices I am confident I can find another furniture store that can accomplish delivering a new product that is purchased without turning it into a cyclical nightmare. Havertys wasted my entire day. 1st my delivery was rescheduled to later in the day because their routing system took them to a totally different city which was in Powder Springs Ga. I live in Atlanta. Next after several requests for an ETA. I then received a call around 7pm and I was told the driver's have been on the road too long and I wont be getting my furniture today at all. It may be a couple days or even a couple weeks. If you get furniture from Havertys, just be aware. We also ordered furniture from Ashleys Furniture and and refrigerator from Lowe's they all came when they said they would. Just bad routing and wasting my day off. read more

After a very, very poor experience at Ashley in Cumming, Haverty's has been an answer to our prayers. The quality of furniture is far and away superior to Rooms To Go, Ashley, American Signature and more. And although it's a little more expensive their designs are more refined and luxurious. Our salesman, Paul, has been fantastic to work with. He's professional and his easy style, is calming and reassuring at the same time. All our questions and concerns were quickly and accurately addressed. He responds to texts messages quickly. And he goes out of his way to make us feel valued and appreciated. If you don't want aggressive salesmen or the hard sell go see him. He is truly a nice guy. He works with a designer, Chelsea, who is equally great. She is very talented and quickly helped my wife find furniture that suited our style and fit perfectly in our home. She tried to suggest artwork and accent pieces that she thought would go with our furniture. Her taste really meshed well with the Mrs. and they ever printed 3D renderings of our home with the furniture in it so we could see the final product. I can't say enough about Haverty's. The whole experience has been thoroughly enjoyable. They even have a 30 day comfort guarantee on the mattress and we had to use it because the pillow top was causing me discomfort while I slept. They took the mattress back no questions asked and allowed us to choose a new one at no charge. Outstanding service! Go see Paul and Chelsea. You won't be disappointed! read more

I ordered a sofa and loveseat more than 5 weeks ago. Had to leave a deposit and was told that despite what the contract said, I would have it in 4 to 6 weeks. I called their customer service department 3 times and was told that the order would hit the warehouse on 10/2. Called today and was told the expected delivery date is now late November, early December. I have already given away my barely used sofa and love seat based on BAD information I was given my Haverty's customer service person(its in the notes). So I will be going into the holidays with no living room furniture. My order can't be cancelled and there was no manger available to speak to. I should have read the reviews on Haverty before I purchased because they don't get high marks. read more

I would do everthing possible to avoid the Bufore store (Mall of Georgia). My wife contacted Jason at this store to reserve a Piedmont ottoman in Pecan. Jason said he would hold it until the next day until 6pm. We arrived at 11am. Jason was not on duty so we started dealing with James who told us he already sold the ottoman so our trip was for nothing. We looked at a Piedmont sofa and asked about it. It was a floor model for $879 ($20 off) and asked to buy it. At first James rang up this sofa but then said it was an 84" sofa (which we thought was odd as the Piedmont/Casey sofa only came in 86 and 90 inches long) and we could purchase a brand new 90" sofa for only $20 more and we could pick it up at the warehouse that day. He said the warehouse was only a few blocks away. In fact, the sofa we saw that day was a 90" sofa which has three seats instead of the two that the 86" sofa has and we confirmed that. So why did James have us drive 15 miles to the warehouse and spend $20 more? Moreover, when we got to the warehouse the sofa was put into our truck without us seeing it first and when we got it home it was indeed NOT NEW as it was wrapped in saran instead of the normal new furniture packaging, feet were attached and scratched/chipped, etc. This was either a floor model or something someone else took home and then returned. I asked about this when we picked up the rest of our order and James said they could not break up a set (there was a loveseat there also) however he never mentioned this before and the sofa was not advertised as part of a set. Moreover, why did he break up a set when he sold the ottoman? To add to the problem when we called Havertys on Friday, after the original Tuesday, to ask if the chair and ottoman had arrived, we had been told that the Havertys truck would be arrving in three days. I spoke to Tony and asked if it had arrived.Tony said checked and said "no" it had not arrived but would sometime Tuesday and we could pick it up Tuesday or Wednesday. I asked if they would call us and let us know. Tony said "no", but we could call. When we went to the Buford store to pick up the rest of our order (ottoman and sofa chair from Gainesville), we mentioned to James that the sofa we picked up a few days ago was not new and the feet were marred and chipped. He said we should have called him and offered to deliver a new sofa. Since we already applied a can of Guardsman Fabric Defense and we really did not want these people in our home, I told him we really only wanted new feet. James was rude about this saying "Check the box, you want a sofa "Yes" or you want a sofa "No". He said they would only send a full sofa, the feet are attached, and they would not send new feet. By the way, contacting James with a problem and expecting a helpful solution is the last thing we would do after this experience with him. We then left with our ottoman and sofa chair. Once home, we saw that the legs to the sofa chair were in a separate package that also included screws. So why could James not send us a set of Piedmont legs? Why was he rude? Since then, corporate customer service sent a new set of feet that arrived the next day so obviously James was just full of it. At the store we saw the ottoman had three spots on it so James went to get a wet cloth. He returned with a wet dirty rag and rubbed off the spots but when we got home and the spots had dried we saw that he actually made larger dirty spots which did not come off. It is horrible the way James treated us as if we were stupid and would not figure out that Piedmont legs were in fact not permanently attached and they could be replaced. It is horrible that he sold our ottoman even though we arrived at the store well within the time it was to be held for us. It is horrible that he told us the sofa he had in the store that day was an 84" and to get a 90" we had to drive to the warehouse which was $20 more and 15 miles out of our way. It is horrible that James BS'd us about the legs and "cleaned the spots" with at dirty rag. It would be in Haverty's best interest to discuss with James that his lack of integrity is obvious to his customers but from another review I suspect this type of behavior is tolerated or maybe even encouraged at this store. Do not buy from the Haverty's in Buford. We need a whole house of furniture and we will never return to this store for any of it. read more

Here I sit!! After being assured that the distribution center would "work with me" on a delivery time in the AM, here I sit without my couch. It's after 6pm, with no trcuk in sight. WARNING!!! Do not buy anything from this store!! I purchased a large sideboard recently for my dining room. While the actual piece is beautiful, the service that I received is the worst that I have ever been involved in or have heard of. First off, the delivery crew was supposed to call me en route to my house. It was notated three times on the shipping invoice! (I work third shift, so for a day time delivery, I need a phone call so that I can be awake) No phone call was ever made, but luckily, I woke up to the sound of the door bell. Next, the two individuals who were delivering the piece, were the rudest people that I have ever dealt with! After placement of the sideboard, I told the delivery man that I needed to inspect the piece for damage as told by my salesman. He literally stood in my doorway, told me that I have three days to do that, and slammed the door in my face! As I inspected the furniture after being left in confusion of how someone could be so rude, I noticed a gash in the wood on the top piece, and the felt pads on the bottom were hanging over the edges looking like a 5 year old had installed them. Right away, I called customer service. We scheduled a redelivery of a new piece after I sent them pictures of the damage, yet had to wait another week for that to come. I was specifically told that I would have another delivery team come to my house with the new piece because I did not want the same rude individuals to come back. Fast forward a week.... guess what??!! Again, no phone call for en route, and the SAME crew! After they left, I pulled the wine rack pieces out of the cabinet, and noticed that one of the ends were not secured in place, and had come apart. So guess what.... another call to customer service. I then had to call the warranty company to send out a service man to my house to fix the issue. Another week!! Finally, the technician was supposed to show up at my house today, 4/21/15 between 3-5 pm. At 4:55pm, I made a phone call to customer service inquiring about where the technician was, due to a lack of a phone call or email informing me that he would be running late. The customer service rep called the tech. He told her that due to Atlanta traffic that his gps said that he would be here at 5:40pm. When I asked about rescheduling, I was told that nothing was available for ANOTHER week..... So, knowing that he would be running late, do you not think a phone call to the customer stating that he would be running that late would've been nice? I have things to do other than waiting on these people to show up. These are hours in my life that I could have been doing what needed to be done, instead of sitting at home waiting on someone who obviously doesn't respect the customers that pay his check. It is now 6:00pm, and nobody has yet to show up!! Who knows when they actually will come? Save yourself the hassle......GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WITH YOUR BUSINESS!!!!! I will do everything in my power to deter someone from buying from this company. Customer service is obviously not important to them!! read more
