I stopped by recently and got a facial by Ashley(open heart skincare) and a haircut by Devin and these girls are fantastic at what they do. Ashley gave me the most relaxing facial. My skin felt smooth, hydrated and glowy for days afterward. She explained how the whole process and products to me and gave me advice on how to improve my skin at home. I have a problem area in my chin where I constantly experience breakouts and my skin has cleared up following her treatment. Devin is very knowledgeable about curly textures, which I have struggled to find with stylists in the past. During the consultation, she listened and understood what I wanted to do with my hair, and provided very insightful suggestions on how to achieve the look. She explained everything to me and checked in throughout the service. I am very pleased with the cut and style, she brought my wavy/curls to life! After a bad hair coloring experience I went to Devin and she colored my hair back to its normal shade, (with no damage at all to my hair!). I was terrified of color but I trusted her after cutting my hair and always leaving happy with what she does. She did such an amazing job I added more color! I started seeing Nicholle before she and her twin Michelle opened Haven Salon. Nicholle used to do my lashes and has done my hair for almost four years now! Not only did my lashes always look so amazing but she made the hour of laying there with your eyes closed, so relaxing and so pleasant! The conversation always flowed right from the get go and it was never awkward or uncomfortable. As far as my hair goes, this girl really works her magic. She's taken me from the darkest black to super blonde. She's toned my blonde down and brought it back up. She's even done darker hair on me and for a blonde specialist did an over the top amazing job with the dark coloring too. There's honestly nothing she can't do. She's even recommended products to me that they don't sell through their salon and has gotten me addicted to multiple products they do sell there! The vibe in there is always so welcoming. Even though I don't know all the other girls that work there it doesn't matter they're always so nice to everyone who walks in the door. I got to see pictures of the space before they bought it and got to watch the salon flourish and grow and I honestly could not be more proud of these twins for what they've built. Not to mention through all the hardships I've gone through, regardless of whatever they're going through, they have always reached out with so much love and support for me! Okay guys! I'm updating my review because Haven now has an esthetician. Her name is Ashley. Her business is called Open Heart Skincare, but I couldn't find a yelp for it, but she does work inside of Haven. Before going to Ashley, I went to various people for brow waxes, never finding one that I was happy with. I have sparse eye brows and other estheticians would always take too much off, not allowing any growth. Let me tell you, Ashley had worked with me to grow my brows back. She will never take more than needed and because of that I finally have eyebrows! Haha. Each time I go in for a wax, she assesses my brow situation, measures and takes her time in between to show me her plan- explaining why she may leave hair in a part of my brow, to avoid any gaps, etc. She also does facials and gave me my first one! I now have a skin regimen specific to my skin type and I'm loving it. I highly recommend her. Besides her being skilled, she's incredibly sweet, and doesn't try to push products on you, but does inform you of what would be best and why. She really knows her sh*t with skin and does take the time to explain processes and how products work. Very educated on what she's selling and her services. I've got my grandma hooked too! Her response time is exceptional. Her salon time is limited as she has other jobs, but she always manages to work with me. Happy to say I've finally found someone to wax my brows, and send me on my way happy. Recommend 10/10! And of course, I still feel the same about getting my hair done here, yes, yes yes! read more

If you want good hair color, don't go to Michelle. I had grown out my hair intentionally for 9 months. I decided to have Michelle do some highlights. She did highlights on a Wednesday. When I got home, I realized the color was brassy and I looked like a skunk because she didnt blend the highlights with my roots. I thought if I washed my hair with purple shampoo it would look better. It did not. In fact, when I washed it, I realized she didnt really do highlights, she only bleached the top layer of my hair. On Friday I sent her a text asking her to put toner on my hair to remove the brassiness. She refused stating my scalp was too sensitive. I told her if she can bleach it with foils, then she could tone it with foils. She refused. I also asked her to fix the roots. She told me I just need to get used to the highlights against my natural blonde hair. She said she could do a few more highlights if I wanted. I told her I couldn't afford a few more highlights. After having other people ask me what happened to my hair, I asked her again to at least blend the roots at no cost to me. She told me that she had already given me discounts (I had no idea she had given me any discounts in the past), and that she tries to help her clients who book more frequently. She told me she would add a few more highlights one time, but she wouldn't be able to give me discounts or fix any problems in the future, although she wasn't willing to make the time to do it before a vacation she knew I had planned. A stylist should fix mistakes every time, at no cost to the client. The fact that my roots didn't get blended in with the highlights, (So I look like a skunk), the brassiness, and only the top layer is bleached, has nothing to do with the fact that I grew my natural blonde color out for 9 months. It has everything to do with the fact that Michelle didn't want to fix mistakes she made with my hair, at no cost to me, because she just opened her own shop. She did a terrible job on my hair, and now I have to pay to find a reputable colorist to fix it. read more
