As soon as the gentleman came into the room with this precious little girl, I knew she would be mine. My experience was fantastic not just because she is mine. The people working there are amazing. We took our 7 month old cat here to get neutered and the process couldn't have been any easier! First of all, we are so thankful they make it affordable to do! $85 for the surgery and $25 for his pain medication post surgery compared to the quotes we were getting from $350-$500!!! The ability to schedule online and check him in was amazing! The day of was easy too. They texted a reminder, directions on how to check in and post surgery directions. If I could, I would give them a zero rating. A few weeks ago, my dog got out, and Ramona Humane Society took her. When I went to the kennel to see her, she greeted me with such enthusiasm, wagging her tail in excitement. Little did I know that it would be the last time I saw her. My family and I were denied the chance to say goodbye. The lady at the front desk asked for her kennel number and informed me that I needed to speak with Animal Control before she could be released. Unfortunately, Animal Control wasn't available at that moment, so she requested my phone number and email, which I provided. I also left a second phone number just incase. I was assured they would contact me for further information, but that call never came. My dog was old, and I dreaded the worst, especially when I noticed a red card by her kennel. Even if she needed to be put down, my family and I would have cherished the opportunity to say our goodbyes, offer her favorite treats, and hug her one last time. She was an amazing dog, well-trained, who had been a part of our lives for almost 11 years. To our dismay, they made the decision to euthanize her without ever reaching out to us. We didn't get to say our goodbyes, give her favorite treats, or even have her ashes. It's been a devastating loss for us, especially knowing how afraid she was to be around strangers. She deserved to be around her family. read more

They killed my cat. For a simple appointment of getting my cat spayed. She was very weak when we got her back, took long to give her to us. She didn't eat or drink anything. She just laid down and preferred to sleep. She was in pain and we were not given anything. My cat died painfully rather than at peace. Ramona Humane Society killed my cat. I am not sure if I should sue. But I do want everyone, including every worker at Ramona, to know what they did wrong. A pet owner is in grief because of a mistake on their end. Never allow this to happen to anyone, never allow THIS to happen to an animal. read more

Brought in my cat for his booster vaccines and they told me I had to pay all over again because it's not a package deal, whatever that means. You should specify that on your website and inform the customer beforehand. Your site states that FVRCP and FeLV are $18 each, it should say $36 since you charge twice. If it's a booster then I shouldn't have to pay for it again, if I knew that I wouldn't have brought it all the way over here from Temecula. Your attendant wasn't much better, no help at all and she stated she's not required to inform me beforehand. Maybe she's not required but it would be good customer service which she obviously lacks. read more

I had called Friday 5/10 because I was having issues with scheduling my dogs vaccines appointment online. I was told just come on in as a walk in they do the vaccine clinic on Fridays & Saturdays from 9 AM - 12:30 PM. So I came Sat 5/11 as a walk in & I got there @ 9am there were a few people in front of me & a few in back. I was I told by those in the line that there was a sign in sheet so I go inside to sign in and then I'm told there isn't a sign in sheet. I go back outside in the line and then like 15 minutes later, a worker comes out and asked did everyone sign in on the sign in sheet. Why say there is no sign in sheet when you clearly have one; it made me feel a certain kind of way because I was the only African-American in the line that day. But I know that was not the case. They just had really crappy service that day because everyone was complaining. So at 11:30 AM we are told to come back at 1 PM and we would have to re-sign in again. I feel like the sign in sheet from the first shift should've still been used. So I show up again a few minutes before 1 PM, sign in again & wait. I have back issues, so after standing in line for about an hour, I sat down on the bench. I noticed that the worker (she had black short hair) came out, and brought the guy who was in back of me in for service, and I yelled excuse me did you call my name? She ignored me and I yelled it again. Then the worker said no I did not call your name. About around 2:30 PM, the same worker comes out and says that is it for the day. While expressing my complaint to her. a Clinic was supposed to open at 9 AM. They didn't start doing shots until 9:40 AM and rather than using the same sign in sheet. She re-created another one for the afternoon and then on top of that she took someone ahead of me who was also a walk in, and her reasoning was well I wasn't in line. But in the mist of me voicing my concern, this worker was talking over me and being extremely rude to the point where she just walked away while I was still talking. I went into the main office and I spoke to Nicolas and Ruby who were by the way, very attentive and effective because I wanted to speak to the Director. They gave me information for Katie or Jeff and informed me someone will be reaching out. Katie called me that following Monday, apologized, and proceeded to make up arrangements for my dogs to come in to get their vaccines. So my dogs all got their vaccines on May 14, 2024. didn't have any issues. I appreciate how Katie resolved the issue, but that particular worker who was working the vaccine clinic that Saturday does not need to be doing customer service. Most of my dogs have been there before and we never had any issues like we did Saturday. I'm glad she wasn't there when we came on May 14, 2024. I adopted my pet on 1/30/23 after all the paperwork was done and money exchanged, I was told to go home and wait. I will get a call when she is ready (2 weeks or more). At 1.5 weeks I called to check on her and was told she is sick and in isolation.I asked why I was not called, and was told that they don't do that. On 2/13/23 I checked in again and was told to pick her up from their clinic between 3& 6 on the 15th. When I arrived I was told that she did not have spay surgery today. After talking to the receptionist it was discovered that she did have surgery they just didn't have her paperwork., and I could claim her at 4:20. I decided to use this time and talk to the director of the shelter as this has been a full on Cluster since the beginning. I asked to speek in private as I did not want to disway any people adopting in the lobby. Well this clearly put him out, he took me to an office with other employees present. I tried to explain my experience. He told me the wait time was explained to me prior to my adopting. I told him it was not. He insisted it was. I said with God as my witness I was not. That man put his right hand on his hip, his left raised to the lord and said " With Go-ooood as my Wittnnesss! As he swayed his body. I looked at him in Absolute shock and dismay. and said Do NOT mock me. And threw me out. All discussion was over. That man feels he can ignore people, disrespect you, and mok you and your faith to your face and get away with it. That man is a disgrace to the city of San Jacinto. And to all Humane Societies. PLEASE DO NOT stop adopting from there, the animals need you. however, PLEASE go in knowing full well how YOU will be treated. And PLEASE complain to the City of San Jacinto until they replace this man and clean up the operations of this shelter. I have since learned that there are some pretty Horrible reviews concerning this shelter. I learned the hard way to read the reviews first. Had both my cats spayed and neutered here. Booking is super easy online. they are scheduled pretty far out but i attributed that to the low prices so I didn't mind waiting. Just be prepared to wait at the drop off time as they tell everyone to check in at 7 so a line forms some people seemed irritated by this but I get it that way they have them all checked in early and no one gets there late so I was cool with it. They are not just by appointments only they also do walk ins while they have people waiting for appointments. Had an appointment at 10 am never got seen because they were mixing walk-ins with appointments. I had to leave at 1145 because I needed toget home to my family. The excuse the lady first gave me was we are short staffed. Then the next one was your after this person then, to wait even longer because they took a walkn-in lady with 4 dogs! Then she says they are having a new system they are doing, I do not know what system this is but it clearly is not working if I had to wait over 1.5 hours to not even get to be seen at my appointed time. If you are going to come here plan to be here ALL DAY. Bring you and you animals snacks because you will get hungry. There were numerous people who were upset with the system. Maybe they should do appointments first at the scheduled time, then after do walk ins. Now I will have to go here for a 3rd time to just get my puppy ONE SHOT. This review is specifically for the clinic on site, not necessarily the shelter or anything else. Please take your pets to a legitimate vet or animal hospital instead of the Ramona Clinic. They don't know what they're doing here. When I adopted my kitten, the same day she was spayed, we were told she was doing good and had responded well to surgery. They then brought her out covered in her own diarrhea, which was also caked on her abdomen right where her new spay incision was. So, clearly not doing well. Before they brought her out to me, I was also told they weren't able to deworm her that day so I would have to make a follow-up appointment for that. Turns out, I had to restart all her core vaccines because they had waited too long in between FVRCP doses, though they did not inform me of that at the time. When I went in for her next FVRCP dose, they did not catch that we had restarted core vaccines and thought it was her third dose until I corrected them v. I then watched the technician, who was not wearing gloves, try several times unsuccessfully to administer the shot. A lot of what was in the syringe ended up on the kitten's fur or on the exam table. The tech was clearly flustered and asked me to help hold the kitten and finally she got what was left in the syringe. I asked if it was okay that she clearly didn't receive the full amount and she said it was, but I called another vet place just to double check with them and schedule her third dose there instead. I will be cancelling the appointment I had already scheduled with Ramona. In general, they are disorganized, inexperienced when it comes to handling and caring for animals correctly, and poor at communicating. They are affordable but it's not worth the worries when it comes to your pet's health. read more

While I was in line, they called people in two at a time. They got people in and out pretty quickly but as I was watching, the receptionists seemed really cold. No smiles, no good mornings, nothing but "Next Cat"! I also saw a couple of vet assistants and it seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. I wouldn't recommend this clinic. I waited nearly a month for an appointment for a rabies vaccine. Then when I arrived for my scheduled appointment I found the door locked and a sign that they were closed. I received no call or other contact informing they would be closed and to reschedule. I did receive reminder emails of my appointment including the morning of my appointment. They also never answer their phone. I tried calling for many days when I was trying to schedule the appointment. It's really not the best clinic anyhow. It just used to be a quick and easy way to get vaccines. A typical shelter with too many cats and dogs, many picked up as strays. This is a fairly large shelter and I did find the staff to be pretty friendly and helpful, both via phone and in person. However there is only so much they can do due to people who just will not spay or neuter their pet :( Ramona Humane Society was a bit out there for hubby and I, but they get a whole extra star just because we did find a beauty and saved her life. We had to drive back again because she needed to be spayed, costing us more time and gas money (I'm sure she's worth it). It then cost even more money after the adoption fee because we had adopted her the day before so she was "ours" so we had to pay a boarding fee for 1 night. The smell-mix of urine/feces/cleaning product is not quite overwhelming, but damn bad! I will say the kennel she was in was kept clean, including the front plastic screen. She is however a filthy mess, can't they do something to help these poor animals get adopted, like a bit of a clean up, if not a bath?! My parents moved us here to Hemet in 1972 and were great supporters of this shelter. My two sisters and my niece remain dedicated to this shelter as mom and dad have long passed. I have seen the team here working around the clock to find homes, rescues, and other help for these sweet animals. Behind the scenes are dozens and dozens of people who live and breathe animal rescue. From Dog to cats, horses to pigs, donkeys, goats and birds and turtles... Animal Services does not give you enough time between the reminder letter that your dog's rabies vaccination and license are due and the clinic appointment times. The appointments are several weeks ago. Walk-ins must now wait until all appointments are seen. I won't be coming back. This shelter is completely irresponsible. In February we made our third adoption from them. Tomorrow we will euthanize one of those two kittens, at only six months of age. This kitten was diagnose with FIV (feline AIDS), after what should have been a minor sickness put him into kidney and liver failure. His sister and our other two cats now have to be tested, and are hopefully negative. These kittens were also in a foster home with two other cats. This shelter is adopting out sick animals, and fostering them into homes with other animals, without testing or warning. This is the second sick adoption we've made from this shelter. The first was a puppy who came home with parvo. Three days after bringing her home she was diagnosed. Again, no testing or warning from the shelter. A very expensive hospitalization saved her, but to add insult to injury, the shelter called me WHILE my puppy was hospitalized to notify me her sister was sick. When I told them I know, my puppy was already hospitalized, they said, "Well you could have returned her" like these animals are just pieces of merchandise! These animals should be tested prior to adoption, rather than sending them into new homes to make other animals sick and cause the new families great heartbreak and financial costs when those animals have to be hospitalized or euthanized. read more
