That said, I'm writing about my experiences hiring the company for petsitting, not the owner as my friend. My wife and I have been using Pawsitively Pooches for cat-sitting when we travel for at least the past three years (probably longer). Most of what this company does is dog-focused, but they also provide in-home cat sitting. We have four cats, so we typically hire them to come by twice a day, morning and evening, to check on the cats, feed them, scoop the litter boxes, etc. Over the years we've had service from Lauren (the owner), Dana (who has since left, but who also become a friend) and most recently Brooke. All of them have made sure our cats are well taken care of. Whenever we've had any issues or concerns, Lauren always made sure our minds were put at ease and everything was done right. The real sign of a good pet sitter is that when we come home from travel, our cats' reaction is, "Oh, you're home? That's nice." They're not desperate for attention, because the sitters from Pawsitively Pooches have clearly been taking great care of them, loving on them, etc. I've also talked with Lauren enough about her business to understand how seriously she takes it. She is always on call for her clients and dog walkers. If there's a problem, she owns it and makes sure it's taken care of. Thank you Lauren for providing such good care for our kitties all these years!

It is a luxury to have a friend/family member take on the responsible or bring their pets along for the trip. However, I highly suggest you read all the fine print on the contracts with the day care or you could be out a ton of money. We bought their largest day care package a couple of years back only to be told after a few visits that one of our dogs was no longer going to be allowed since he was too rough with the other dogs. Completely understandable. Since we have two dogs requiring the day care and only one was allowed, we did not see a point in keeping one dog in day care so we asked for a refund for the day care. We were told it was not allowed so they gave us "credit" that we were told we could use for any service including boarding. When we went to board our dogs this last time, they told us all of the credits expired after a year and we were unable to use any remaining credit. At no point were we told that the credit would expire. We would have used them a lot sooner if we would have known but since it was more of an "credit refund" we assumed there was no expiration date. Essentially, we lost out on hundreds of dollars and paid for services that were never rendered. Their policies and lack of customer service are why I do not recommend this place. Additionally, the "sorry, too bad," shrugged shoulders type of response from the manager left a very sour taste in our mouths. She did offer us $70 bucks off our $700 boarding total, but after losing the several hundreds of dollars on the day care that was never used, it was very off putting.
