Yet we must choose each step we take with utmost caution, for the footprints we leave behind are as important as the path we will follow. They're part of the same journey -- our story." ― Lori R. Lopez, Dance Of The Chupacabras What an amazing event this was! OC Meets Napa and Baja, presented by Community Health Center AltaMed, brought primarily Latino-centric restaurants and chefs in Orange County and Latino-owned wineries in Napa and Baja together in a celebration of culture. Proceeds from all the ticket sales went toward supporting the Orange County health services and programs that AltaMed spearheads in underserved communities. When I was Housing Manager for the City of Huntington Beach, I funded Alta Med through the City's CDBG program and am very knowledgable about the great services they provide especially in a country that still has an imperfect and expensive healthcare system. What was cool about this event was actually seeing, meeting and talking to the chefs/winemakers. These are the people who chose their path, who chose their own story. The passion from chefs such as Beto Ygei from 930 Sushi (excellent spicy yellowtail), Carlos Selgado of Taco Maria (wonderful scallop here), Gabbi Patrick (I think they did a scallop dish too), Rogelio Martinez of Casa Oaxaca (so excited was he about his sorbets and ice cream), and winemakers such as Alex, Oscar and Lola Llamas (best wines at event and great people too who invited us to hang out afterwards). This is the type of event that I love to attend and is only second to the San Jose Jazz Festival as favorite yelp events of this kind that I was lucky enough to get tickets from Yelp. Was disappointed in the Baja wines as there was little balance or flavor with those wines, and a lot of rustic smells and astrigent finishes. However given that when traveling the local wines always taste better when you are visiting their area (Cinque Terre was an example of this where the wines are fabulous only when you are outdoors on a patio with a great view eating a sublime pesto dish in Italy), I will visit Baja soon and visit the better wineries on their home turf ;-) Thanks again Yelp for this event! It was warm and muggy but there was plenty of food and drink for all the guests to enjoy. There were plenty of Napa and Baja wine vendors pouring wine throughout the event along with restaurants from LA, OC, and Baja. Some of my favorite food vendors were Anepalco's Cafe, Taco Maria, Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen, and Deckman's en el Mogor. Wine was definitely plentiful as was the food. There was a wine wheel that you could spin for $20, which went to the Women in Action charity and in turn you won a wine bottle valued anywhere from $40 to $80. I won an $80 bottle of wine. It was pretty awesome. There were tables for all the guests to lounge and mingle at. The event was held at Mission San Juan Capistrano which I had never visited before. We were allowed to walk around the exhibits while the Mission was closed to the public. Pretty cool. Thanks to Yelp OC for the tickets. My +1 and I had a great time.

I reached out to Tom to see what he could come up with to maximizing seeing LA and Hollywood. He picked us up at our hotel and at the conclusion dropped us off directly at the cruise terminal. Some of our highlights included a nice up high shot and view of the Hollywood sign, then the Star Walk, Chinese Theater, Beverly Hills and the Santa Monica pier. He was very adaptive to what we wanted and flexed to meet our needs. He had great recommendations and insights along the way. You could tell he really enjoyed what he did. He personalized the trip by having California tunes as a part of his song playlist. He took great pride in his work and executed flawlessly. Yes the private tour may have been a little more but it was worth every penny and I would do it all over again if I had the chance.

I found Anaheim Tour Company through Yelp and searched for a tour that would match our likes and found the Warner Brothers Studio and Hollywood Homes tour. Sign up and payment were easy. We especially liked the idea of someone coming to pick us up where we were staying in Anaheim and driving to Hollywood. We received confirmation emails and texts from our Tour Guide, Rick before to confirm the time we would be picked up. Rick picked us up at the time he said he would. This tour was awesome!! Rick is knowledgeable and friendly. My husband and I are big movie and tv fans so every aspect of this tour was great. We got to see Rodeo Drive, Graystone Mansion, Hollywood Blvd and a nice drive through around different Hollywood homes. We stopped at Carney's for lunch (which will need its own separate review) and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch there. Our last stop was to the Warner Brothers Studio for a tour, which has been on our list to-do..we just needed the youngest kid to be old enough to enjoy Thank you Rick for a great tour!!

Dan was so amazingly helpful and now I truly understand why everyone books him for Honeymoons and all trips. At first, I was really overwhelmed, didn't know where I wanted to go, and didn't know how much to budget. Plus there's a million hotels, how can you tell which one is legit...I don't have time to read every single review! All I did was answer a few questions for Dan and he really helped narrow down the choices. PRICE: I know this is cheesy but after my trip was booked, I looked up the exact same hotel with the same dates - IT WAS THE SAME PRICE as Expedia/Travelocity, actually a little cheaper than them. But it felt good to know I wasn't just a number like I would have been to those other sites. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Every time I had a question, I was able to email Dan directly and get quick response. I really trust his expertise advice. He even sent me a preparation type package of what to do and what not to do, depending on where you book your trip. We went to Cabo and he advised us to avoid the timeshare people in certain sections. They were so tricky and I really would have fell for it if Dan didn't tell us about it. The list had things like what to bring, not to bring, how to keep your house safe while traveling, etc. BONUS: He surprised us with a LIMO TO THE AIRPORT! It was so nice of him to hook us up with a limo to really start off the trip right! Thank goodness too because after crazy planning, we didn't even think about how we would get to the airport. I always recommend Head Over Heels to everyone I know...not just for honeymoons but just for all trips in general. THANKS DAN FOR EVERYTHING!
