Now that my wedding is over... I can write about companies I was not too impressed with. I waited as Have a Seat supplies the linens (seats & white table cloths) for the venue we had gone with. I went in to enquire about the backdrop, head, cake & receiving table. The lady gave a monsterous quote & started claiming we needed to dress the walls up ($5500 ish !!!). I nearly fell over w/ that quote. When I went home I was so depressed. Then I got pissed off.The reason why we picked the venue was because it was already naturally quite beautiful. So now you think I'm supposed to cover it up? seriously? Have a seat is good at what they do. They have beautiful fabrics. Some elegant while others are a little over the top. They are even in the top bridal magazines in the country for having luxurious things. But I question their integrity & honesty. In the end, I had my florist do the decor .. it was absolutely beatiful and only costed $ 900 :p read more

If zero was an option, I would move forward with that - I was in search of specific chairs, which 'Have a Seat' boasts they carry. Upon an initial e-mail, the response by the 'Have A Seat' team spoke to nothing outside of their minimum rental cost, being $500.00 (which we were happy to spend for the chairs in question). Having called 'Have a Seat' directly to inquire further, since, as mentioned, they neglected to address anything beyond their minimum cost, the individual I had spoken to informed me (after I had informed her of the delivery location, specifically) that there were not enough chairs in stock. Having then inquired about other chairs in stock (since, as mentioned, they boast a plethora of chairs available), I was told: "We are actually super busy that weekend and just don't have any chairs available". Their level of service is deplorable, and I would never recommend anyone inquiring about their services only to be met with such a disgraceful level of disrespect and dismissal. read more

We used Have A Seat for our wedding. We used them for both floral and decor as they were recommended through our venue. Our wedding decor and floral were absolutely beautiful. the saying " you get what you pay for" is true in this sense. Just some points that I would stress. - Price. Be prepared to pay. A lot. We had a 100 person wedding. 13 tables, table linen, napkins, flowers, head table, back drop and centre pieces, charger plates, and candles for each table (3). We had bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, flower girl basket, boutiners, corsages, head table floral, centre piece floral, and two large flower decorative stands. Our cost was around $5500. But it was beautiful. We loved the staff. Throughout the process there were times were there were miscommunications. You deal with more than one person and any given time so it's easy to have information lost in the process. Most communication was done via Email after our initial visit's. Floral and decor and two separate departments. One complaint- I attempted to update our numbers several weeks in advance to final payment and I was told that 10 days prior to the wedding when the final payment was due we could make final adjustments. 10 days before the wedding I was told all the floral was already ordered. Too late. luckily our initial guest count was pretty close. Only a $300 mis fire. Pennies when dealing and planning a wedding. Trust me. All in all I would recommend. read more

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS VENDOR! My husband and I booked table linens with Have a Seat. Two weeks before our wedding our caterer informed us that we were also responsible for ordering linens for the serving tables and bars. Have a Seat spoke directly with our caterer and they chose the extra linens that were needed. I went in to Have a Seat 3 days before our wedding to pay the balance and choose the extra linens. When I saw what Nina and the caterer had chosen I asked that the linen be switched to something that better matched our decor and budget. Nina was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. She lost her temper and starting yelling saying that we had already committed to these linens. Her behaviour was absolutely disgusting. What kind of person belittles and humiliates a bride 3 days before her wedding. Consider that before booking with them. read more

I understand that things can't always turn out the way we like, but when you are a wedding vendor and play a vital part in a bride and groom's vision, you should do everything you can to avoid careless mistakes, but when such mistakes happen, as a wedding vendor you should take responsibility and remedy your mistake to the fullest. Our reception had a mix of harvest tables and standard round tables. My venue provided standard linens at no cost, but they didn't have table runners for the harvest tables. I found lace table runners at Have A Seat but was told that I would need to spend a min of $500 (not including delivery). In other words, to get lace table runners (which cost $325) and keep everything consistent, I would have to order ALL my table linens from Have A Seat. Despite the extra cost, we decided the table runners were worth it and went ahead and ordered everything (at a cost of $1100). In addition, there was a $300 delivery charge. When I asked why delivery was so expensive, they informed me that the table runners would need to be individually hand washed at our expense. Again, a bit expensive but we really wanted lace table runners! Fast forward to our wedding day, I got a call from my planner informing me that the venue had received different linens and no table runners. I immediately called Have A Seat and left several messages asking them to remedy the issue before the guests arrived. In the end, no one called back, so we had to change the design of the tables and improvise. Now here is the thing, despite the mess up we still got married and our wedding guests were none the wiser. The way Have a Seat handled the situation after the wedding is the issue. I never got a call back from Have a Seat; instead, I had to call them 5 days after the wedding to follow up. You would think that a business who holds themselves in such a high regard would have called back to at least apologize. (I guess they were hoping I would forget and not follow up?) When I finally got a hold of the owner, all she provided was lie after lie and essentially blamed me for not calling their emergency number on the day of the wedding. I called the main number several times and not once did the greeting message give out an emergency number. Whether or not this emergency number exists, I don't know, but it's pretty useless to a panicking bride if the existence of it is not immediate and obvious. Initially, she offered me a store credit for the amount of the table runners. Why would I want to work with them again? (And let's be honest, when will I ever need to rent table linens again?) After rejecting her offer, she agreed to refund me the cost of the table runners, nothing else. When I tried to reason with her to get a portion of my delivery charge refunded (since they never actually delivered the entire order AND would not need to individually "hand wash" each runner) I was told that there would be no discussion of this. I tried to explain that despite being able to get a portion of my linens from my venue for free, the only reason I ordered ALL my linens from them was because of the lace runners and their minimum spend policy that forced me to spend more than I actually needed. Either way, after our initial discussion, Anna never responding to my follow-up calls and e-mails. In the end, Anna used bully tactics and simply sent an electronic refund for an amount she arbitrarily decided on. For those of you that had a good experience with Have A Seat- lucky you! But I think in order for a business to be considered a good business, they have to take action when things go wrong and make it right. It's easy to look good when things work out, but how you handle your mistakes is equally important. In summary, if you don't mind extremely high prices and dealing with a dishonest and unprofessional business then try out Have A Seat. But beware, you're running the risk of having to deal with the consequences of their disorganization on your wedding day. read more

As an extremely pleased customer, I popped on here to write a review. In doing so, I was extremely displeased to see that Have A Seat has a much lower rating than deserved?? This is not accurate. Are we talking about the same business here?? If you are reading my comment, please read further as I feel I have a duty as a loyal customer, who was recommended by a friend to use Have A Seat, to shed light on a true and accurate review. It is distressing how much influence social media can have, but I am here to give a true and honest review. I took a long hard look at all of the negative reviews and what I noticed they all had in common was an issue with the pricing. Have A Seat is very transparent with their pricing when you decide to use them. If pricing is an issue, one should in fact look elsewhere rather than come on here and lower their ratings unjustly as this does not make much sense to me. Have a seat always offers their best advice and if it so happens to be expensive this information has been disclosed to you and you will continue get amazing service, but you will know the price beforehand. I personally found the pricing very fair, so giving these people the benefit of the doubt i think that it is more reasonable to simply not use a company that is out of anyone's budget as opposed to get upset over it. Again, if you go through with this company you will not be disappointed. The women at have a seat are knowledgeable and they know what with dress up or dress down an event. This all depends on the venue you have chosen, which may need more work than others (thus may be more expensive than others). Their floral work is amazing and their decor is impeccable as well as I personally would not have been able to put together a view that was given to me by the ladies at have a seat. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for and if you choose to go with Have a Seat they will NOT let you down. Their work is a visionary and they are extremely pleasant and kind people to work with. These women are anything but disloyal as they had the best intentions for myself, my daughter, my son-in law and all family members and friends who have used them. Sure, other companies may charge less, but they will not come close to the calibre offered at Have a Seat as they strive for excellence and always deliver. They have done a stellar job for me time and time again and I will continue to use them for my events and to recommend them to everyone I know! OH MY GOD!!!! I cannot thank you enough for the absolutely spectacular job Have a Seat did on my daughters wedding this past Saturday. It exceeded my expectations which is really not any easy task lol!! When my husband and I got to the reception and saw how beautiful everything looked our jaws dropped!! Thank you to you all but especially Tammie for putting up with me during the bridal shower and the wedding process....you are amazing!! And Sylvia the flowers were a dream. Exactly what I pictured in my mind...the head table was out of this world. All our guests were amazed at how beautiful everything looked. Someone said to me they were expecting to see a unicorn just prance through the room because it looked so magical. Have A Seat had a large part in making my wedding day a dream come true. Working with Mina primarily, she was with us every step of the way. She was honest and helpful and it felt like working with family. Mina was able to help us in every aspect and went above and beyond her duties in helping me with seating issues at the venue leading up to the big day. Not to mention how stunning every aspect of their decor is. I haven't stopped receiving compliments yet. Mina came herself to help set up and be able to wish me well on my day. I have used linens and other decor from Have A Seat for my bridal shower, wedding, baby shower and my daughter's baptism and also countless parties at home for the last 6 years. I can honestly say that their selection is beautiful and you can see and feel the quality of their linens. So many times I have gone to an event and the linens look so cheaply made. There is no chance that those companies compare to what you get with Have A Seat. I also really enjoy working with their staff to create a cohesive look for whatever I'm planning. They really know how to make your vision come to life. I was not a picky bride and was able to let the crew design and create my wedding dream. Have a Seat made our special occasion one that wowed our guests. The ladies there really took the time to show me different linens and matched them up with different looks i.e centrepiece and charger plate ideas, as I was unsure of exactly what I wanted. Their beautiful linens and and fabulous floral arrangements were so stunning everyone complimented them.
