I was a student at Hauser from 2001-2004, so I can't speak for the current quality of the school, but I want to share my experience. I had a very positive experience as a student here; the quality of the teachers was generally quite good and students got along with each other reasonably well. My 7th grade English teacher, Ms. Brodhay, is one of the best English teachers I have ever had. When I was a student, Mr. B was in charge of Smart Club, the anti-drugs and alcohol organization, which was the most popular club to be a member of at the time. I have such fond memories of the PRIDE Conference and going to Six Flags with the rest of the Smart Club.
It was always a pleasure to go to a Sock Hop and listen to Ms. Brabec give us a lecture in the girl's locker room that same day about how we should make sure not to let any of the boys break our hearts. I enjoyed playing on the volleyball team and participating in Speech & Drama, as well as singing in a musical ("The Music Man").
My two younger siblings also attended Hauser and enjoyed their time there. I still go back to see the musicals, so I most recently went back to see Mr. Mason's production of "Singin' in the Rain." I'm always so impressed by the sets and the students' acting. Even if the singing isn't always so stellar, it's understood that these are 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, and their voices will grow by the time they're on stage at RB! You can tell that the staff, like Mr. Mason, put a lot of heart into their work. The productions are always so impressive and thoughtful!
Overall, I have very fond memories of Hauser and I continue to form positive memories based on the musicals put on. I hope lack of funds never gets in the way of the arts at Hauser like it has at RB! read more
