This is an amazing place.
It is a long review, but my friends know, I can talk a lot about our daycare(and those of them who have kids are very jealous, because ours is one of a kind)
My older son goes to ALC for 4 years now, my younger one is in a toddler room, and it has been nothing, but a great experience.
They really teach kids. They review days of the week, letters, numbers, important historical events, holidays, et cetera, et cetera. My kids are bi-lingual, we don't speak English at home at all(this is recommended to increase chances that kids will speak both languages), so all their English skills are from daycare, and 4yo can write and read simple words, tells stories, he knows simple math etc, and a 2yo talks sentences.
There are yoga classes, children gymnastics, cooking class and a music teacher once a week.
Sometimes there are magicians, story teller, music band...
Each summer there are water plays and field trips(theater, zoo, parks). Kids also do multiple science projects and art projects. They have vegetable garden, they do picnics...and a lot more.
Center itself is nice and clean, nothing like some others I've seen. They have a nice clean yard( with separate area for babies), a lot of outdoor toys, bikes, cars, slides.
There is a free sharing library, and each Christmas, Easter and Halloween there are free treats for parents.
But the most important thing is the atmosphere. Ms Regina and ms Heather know each parent by name, they know our family situations and are always willing to help. My husband got to ER earlier this year, and although my younger son was attending part time, and was not supposed to be in daycare next couple of days, they took him in, and supported me through that time.
It was very important for me, because I know, that they care. I know they have my back and that my kids are in good hands.
Communication between parents and staff is great. Every issue is addressed, each question is answered. If there are some situations, that need attention, they always are there to solve it.
No one ever raised a voice at a kid in this daycare. No one ever treated a kid wrong.
When my kids first started, teachers called me to let me know that everything is ok, kids are doing fine. They sent me pictures and did everything so I'd feel not so worried.
Some parents became close friends through ALC events too, and I think it is a good indicator. My older son wishes his teacher, ms Ashley, could live with us))
There are a lot of different kind of families, and a lot kids with different personalities in the daycare, and each one is respected and loved at this center. read more
