Haunted Montrose,
Wow, I Was Blown Away!, .....
This Haunt delivered so high above my expectations.
I have been thinking of trying this haunt for about 5 years,
I had read it had 3 sections, and was one continuous 30 minute experience.
But it was really more like six or possibly even seven distinct sections.
I won't give actual spoilers, but basically it goes something like this, ...
You must buy timed tickets on the website in advance, ....
Arrive about 15 minutes before you're scheduled time slot, ....
Wait in a quick mabie 10-15 minute line as they break you off into groups
of six-eight people, ....
then enter, .....
-----------------------
Section 1, Some type of old Mill, Lots of Hidden Scareactors, And cool Animatronics,
Section 2. A "3D" Blacklight Clown House, Lots of Character Interaction.
Section 3. Short Atmospheric Outdoor Section, No Real actors, but a cool thunderstorm/rain effect,
Section 4. A Long, Long, Indoor never-ending maze in the strobes and fog, with awesome scareactors,
Section 5, Outdoor Corn-Field / Cabin / More Corn Field , with the very best scareactors and superizes.
Section 6, Another Indoor Old Abandoned House, This one full of Awesome animations,
Great scareactors, personal interactions and more.
Section 7, A kind of short outdoor section, with old cars, a school-bus,
and as all Haunts,...A Chainsaw Final Run Out & Exit!
Once again with great Scare actor Interactions, ...
----------------------
I Timed it, from entering the front door, to exit, it took my 6 person group,
29 Minutes and 55 seconds, ....
So yeah, ticket was 30 bucks, but that was one of the best haunts
I ever been to for basically, a buck a minute of total fun.
100% Worth every penny!, ... These people were great!
Going In I wasn't expecting much, .....
seeing it was in a tiny unknown town in middle of nowhere,
.....Backwoods Georgia,
I expected a few local kids in cheep masks, in a old building, .....
But what i found was inside some old factory or possibly school building?
A very professional style haunt with all kinds of sets, professional
effects, amazing modern animatrnics, and about 80 Scare actors of all ages,
all in great make-up and original costumes,
with awesome well-thought-out hidden scares,
special effects, and a love of thair jobs.
They Interact with everybody, both in charactor, and out,
They will do the scare, then after the scare, in or out of character hold short real conversations,
with each person coming through, making it very personal to each guest,
improvising off of your energy and personality type,
making it as scary, (or not) , as you seem to wish, working off your energy, .....
Giving it everything they got, based on the energy you give back toward them!
---------------------------
I've been to haunts, Large and small across many states, .....
From the Big Boys at Universal / SCarowinds /Busch Gardens, etc.
Down to Smaller Back-yard haunts, VFW's and Haunted Caves,
Professional & Semi-Professional Haunts, and everything in between,
I gotta say this one really blew me away,
Value and Quality and Professionalism,
I LOVED IT!
Definitely in my top 3,
Might even my new Number One!
---------------------------
* Things that this haunt didn't have, .....
1. An Overall Story-line / Backstory or Main Character tying all of it together.
2. Tons of Blood & Gore
3. Sexy / Slutty Outfits & Costumes.
(None of the above needed, They put on a great show without such cheesy gimmicks!)
what they do have, .....
1. Great settings in Real Buildings with Professional Effects and Lighting.
2. Great Costumes and Make-up
3. Professional Caliper Scares both Live and Animatronic.
4. The Very Best Personal Interactions,
with Scareactors who really love the haunting game.
what they could improve, ...
It's great as is, .....
But if I was to add anything, ......
1.mabie a little more sinister music in a few sections, ....
2.and another food truck or two , (they already have one.)
3.a better social media/advertising campaign, so more people knew about it.
Either way, it's at least a 9.9 out of 10 for Me! read more
