The huanted house itself was mediocre and Not worth the price of admission. The scares where predictable and was mostly just loud noises. The rooms where the lights are flashing cuases the actors not to be able to see and sometimes results in them just punching you when they try to grab/scare. Would not recommend. I first checked out this place about 10-11 years ago. I was younger then and it was more fun probably due to that fact. While it is fun to go in with a good group of friends, it is costly for VIP tickets (around $60). If you don't purchase the VIP tickets expect to wait quite a bit to get in. We probably waited about an hour in line to finally get in. It is a hands on experience, there is a suicide simulation at the beginning, and a "live" demon birth. Be sure to read up on the place before you go because you can pretty much find out everything it entails so you don't go and have a terrible time. Overall I don't know if I'd go again. It was alright but I think that's because I went with a fun group of people and nobody else got tacked on to our group that was awful. With Halloween quickly approaching, I have to share last year's experience: Positives: - Very scary in some parts, even for my horror-loving, generally stoic friends - When waiting in line, there are pole dancers at the top of the structure. They are very good at what they do. Negatives: - They had warnings and "trigger warnings" posted and explained about a "live demon birth." Yet they did not have a trigger warning for a simulated s*icide. An actor who sticks a fake gun in his mouth and splatters his brains against the wall. This isn't fun or scary, just plain disgusting to sensationalize and not have a trigger warning for, especially when they have one for something stupid and unserious. This was deeply deeply disturbing and triggering. - Many of the actors are AGGRESSIVE. This is one of those places who doesn't care if they hire sadists and probably enjoy it. I understand it's a hands-on experience, but there is no reason for grown male actors to be shoving a group of girls or anyone else around back and forth. One of them even grabbed my head and pushed me toward the ground. This did not feel scary in a horror sense, just in a man-abusing-his-job-and-anonymity sense. It felt scummy and s*xual. - The haunted maze contains areas of flashing strobe lights and a spinning tunnel. Again, not scary, just disorienting. To the point of dizziness and nausea for many, not just in our party. - The line is long, at least an hour, and very cold depending on where you go. There is no one patrolling or enforcing this long, winding line, so I saw countless teenagers and others cutting line, especially as we got closer to the front. At times, employees saw. They never said anything. 1000000% not worth the money. I don't recommend to anyone, but especially women or anyone who would be sensitive to s*icide. This place kept popping up as a good haunted house to attend, so I finally decided to buy tickets this year. The price for a standard ticket was average compared to other places. We got there about thirty minutes early and the line was already very long, so get there early!! Employees in costume were scaring people as they walked to the line, including a guy with a chainsaw. Super cool! In order to make this review easy to follow, I'll make a list of what I did and didn't like. What I liked: The actual haunted house is huge! I kept thinking it was going to end soon, but we kept on going. I really liked how different rooms had their own themes. I don't want to spoil what's inside, but they have some animatronics and effects that make it feel like you're tripping on drugs. I was blown away! The sensory overload was awesome. What I disliked: There's no way to put this kindly, but there are some *tasteless* people who attend this haunted house. So many people were smoking cigarettes or weed in line and blowing it on people. I reeked of weed afterwards. Two guys actually peed IN LINE. It was disgusting. There's music and videos to watch/listen to while waiting, but be aware that a lot of it is conspiracy theory stuff. For example, there were videos of the twin towers falling with text saying it was an inside job. The last thing I didn't like is the amount of people that go inside with your group. I can't really blame them for this though because they have to keep the line moving. So, be aware that you'll constantly be butted up against other people while making your way through. Overall, would I recommend it? I would go if I was a teenager. As an adult, it wasn't scary. If anything, it was cool because of the creativity. They allowed the regular line to go first and then allowed others to cut the VIP lane to the point that three people in the VIP lane had to say something. And it was mediocre at best. I've been to far better in other states a lot smaller. There is nothing else besides the two haunted houses and a merch shop. Which the second one was a putt putt golf course experience, nothing exciting. The only thing they have is they touch and shove you, but that must be their gimmick to being otherwise boring and not worth the trip. I'm a teenager myself (14) and it was my favorite haunted house so far. i'm not gunna say "people are so soft now days" because that just seams so old to say but it is fr, don't listen to these horrible reviews, this place is awesome!! i really reccomend getting the VIP so you can get to the front, trust me it's worth it!! only bad thing is the mud but they can't control the weather. i really enjoyed when they were playing rock music loud, that was personally my fav. The chainsaws were also really nice because i even had to tell myself "they're not real" over and over again. The staff were not mean AT ALL!! and infact i even had a conversation with one of the scary people while in line, just talking about how they liked working at the place and talking about what their favorite part was, which were the animatronics . I got a chance for an off season viewing of the Haunted Hoochie since they opened for Midwestern Haunter's Convention. I've heard of the Hoochie, I know several of the actors and in my circle, it's got a bit name. Heck. it's even on the Travel Channel as one of the top haunts across America. They did not disappoint. I admit I was expecting MORE, but I'm biased, I work in a touch haunt, and I'm a Haunter, so.. yeah. Anyway, I found it all withing spec and nothing out of range. I absolutely LOVED the queue line performers: The fire eater, Jethro, the gun turret .. all of it added to the atmosphere. The political stuff, I could take or leave but it didn't make me hate or feel one way or another about the place. Some folks? Sure It's gonna fu*k with them, but my skin's not that thin. Inside: I ADORED the first scene I came to. Why? Because I couldn't find a way out. We were thoroughly confused and had no idea were were at a stage until the lights came up. The music, lighting and effects were well done and timed. "I got a little blood on me" was a common refrain. I certainly didn't mind getting touched, since I got a few massages, my hair gently pulled and my hands tugged on. Nothing out of the ordinary. Can it happen? I'm sure it can, does it happen often? Never been before, kinda a horror geek, my two older boys and I. Honestly was just expecting a mediocre haunted house type deal, but even the wait in line was all a part of the experience and fun! They threw out glow in the dark bands and randomly came out into the line and scared people and chase them with chainsaws it was awesome! It was a great experience, I don't see how anyone has had a very bad time at this place I've always heard stories of the haunted hoochie I've lived in Columbus my whole life, except for when I was away with the military and this is the first time I've been there. I will definitely go back and I definitely recommend it to others it's just a great experience specially if you got a couple older kids or a couple a friends who are just down to have a pretty good time you guys get a thumbs up from me, will definitely be back next year. read more

I was extremely disappointed in the way the haunted hoochie was ran this year. One the prices were raised for a mediocre experience. there were too many "dead spots" that could have been used for a shocking jump out or something. The actors, probably because they were tired from scaring all night, were bland and not scary at all. there was a little boy in front of me and he could have cared less. I think he would have had more fun sitting at home playing with some hot wheels than going through this joke of a place. His mother was trying to get him interested but he kept pointing out how bad the animatronics were. I feel ya buddy! I just feel bad for whoever paid VIP prices of $60 something dollars for 20 minutes of nothing. Believe me, I felt it this morning but it was more for the standing in line from 9:30 pm to 1am. nothing with the experience itself. Hell I thought it was more entertaining with the renta cops running all around the place pretending they were "catching" someone through the lines. don't get me started with the dancers in the cage and the mediocre middle school dancing they did. Just wow, So worth the wait. So many different rooms and themes with different theatrics. We had a great time. I will say: If you're easily offended, just don't go. If you don't want to be touched, don't go. They were harmless and added for great scares though! Go when your wait limit is endless. We waited for a long time. Next year, I will upgrade to VIP. This is by far one of thee best haunted houses in the Midwest. It is not for the easily scared and faint of heart... at all!! They pride themselves on a full sensory experience, and they deliver! They've recently added Bad Trip, which is a 3-D maze based off of a circus. Clowns and props are all around you in the rafters. Sometimes you can't tell the difference between real or prop. Demented clowns will pop out of anywhere and everywhere. But the props and animatronics are amazing and the paint job is spectacular! with the 3D glasses on things really pop! Now as far as their main attraction, you can pay a little extra to go VIP and not wait in the line, but most nights, the line can be pretty fun! They normally have either a DJ set up on the stage towards the front of the line, or a really old horribly bad yet awesome horror movie playing on the big screen on the side of the barn. There will normally be a character roaming the line as well picking out any unsuspecting victims. The people will touch you inside, but they won't hurt you. Just try to get a startle out of you. Things will pop out if random walls and corners and you can never be sure where something may or may not be. They also have scenes set up that adds to the gore and the scare and the craziness. This place is WELL worth every penny you will spend. It's a great deal! read more

Web site asks for patience around opening time and that's cool but not for 2 hours while they wait for the crowd to build up in order to maximize profits. Having local radio station 107.5 is nice but there's only so long that even these guys can hype the crowd. The mutant rabbit was terrifying the first 3 times he snuck up on us but then it wears off. First things first... waited 2 and half hours to walk through. Got there at 8 and they didn't let anyone in until 9:15. They don't start until they are ready. VIP gets to go before everyone no matter what. So if you are wanting in and out... spend the extra money. I was in the first line when I arrived, left at 11 and there were 6 lines full. It would take 4-6 hours for those people to ever go through. It's not scary at all. Special effects are spectacular but that's about it. Won't be going back again. And not worth $25 dollars. The line wait is expected since this place is very well known. The ticket prices are just fine. Other haunts will charge you extra just to get what you get at the haunted hoochie for a lesser price. After much thought I don't think I'll be returning to Haunted Hoochie next year. Sad, considering I have gone nearly every single year since I was 14. This year, instead of new thrills and horror, I was greeted with political propaganda, with the guise of shock value. It was clear that the owners were trying to pedal their political views to their visitors, and it was unnecessary. Instead of waiting in line and watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre on their projector screen as I had years before, we were watching several videos of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, set to heavy metal music, along images clearly against President Obama, former President Bush, and many more images of a clearly political nature. In addition they also displayed four American flags, two of which were grayscale and hanging upside down. I watched the Twin Towers burn and fall at least a dozen times while I stood in line. And yes, it was upsetting to me. As we entered the attraction, one of the greeters shouted over his loudspeaker: "If you're going to live in America, you should learn to speak English, am I right?!" People cheered. If I wanted to listen and watch political propaganda I would have just stayed home and watched the news, not paid $25 dollars and stand in the cold, watching it on repeat for 2 hours. The attraction itself has not changed much at all over the last couple years. Fun, but hardly any different. read more

The whole experience felt more like a Kid Rock concert than a traditional haunted house. We stood in line for an hour and a half with drunk dudes behind us stripping off their clothes and repeatedly stumbling into us. The haunted house itself is nothing but strobe lights, and dirty people touching you. It is not scary as much as it is uncomfortable. This is the type of place that typically makes you sign a waiver before you go in. No one had us sign anything. One of the worst haunts I've been to in America. Unless you pay extra to skip the line, you're stuck there for hours looking at the garbage they pass off as queue entertainment. On our visit, they abandoned all efforts of escapism through Halloween to make unidentifiable political rants. We tried to ignore it, but it was affecting the already grumpy people in line around us. People were getting into political arguments while waiting in line for a Halloween event. Absurd. Inside the maze wasn't much better. What they consider "shock" is a mere copy of other, better haunts. I've opened cans of biscuits scarier than this. If you're looking for an experience where you're groped at while being shocked and there's plenty of loud noise, go see a GWAR show instead. I came here with a buddy of mine on Opening Weekend on a Saturday. The place was PACKED!! The regular line must have had over 100 people in it so we decided to just upgrade to VIP. For an extra $10, we probably saved over an hour in waiting time. VIP line didn't have anyone in it so we only had to wait 3 or 4 minutes to start the haunt. Crazy shit on the inside. Zombies everwhere! Animatronics galore! NOT FOR KIDS AT ALL! Highlights: My favorite parts of the haunted hoochie were...the HOOCHIES! So many sexy zombies with their tits hanging out everywhere. I hadn't ever been to a haunted house before this past weekend, and after hearing all my friends' stories about how scared they were, I decided I had to do it! I love scary movies, so I figured I would love a "haunted house." I was nervous the whole week leading up to my visit, not knowing what to expect. When my friends and I got there, around 8:15, the line didn't seem very long, so we bought the regular tickets at $20/each. After standing in the cold and rain for about an hour and a half, and with probably another hour and a half left before we would get in, we decided to upgrade our tickets to VIP for an additional $10. We didn't realize that they don't really start letting in any regular customers until all the VIP people have gone in. Once we upgraded, we were in in less than 10 minutes. Letting your customers stand in line with no form of entertainment for over an hour after paying $20 is poor business to me. Once we got in, I could tell it was a decent production; the costumes and props were thorough, and the different themed rooms and setups were interesting. There was a lot of popping out, and they do touch you (like stroke your hair or grab your arm), but because I could pretty much tell what was coming up based on the people in front of me, it just wasn't very thrilling. There were a few genuinely scary moments, but I didn't leave the house with any real sense of terror, especially since the ending was kind of anticlimactic. I wish they would have done more with the church scene, like if they would have everyone sit in the pews and then get attacked or screamed at personally by the nun or priest. I think that is the main problem: it's too impersonal. To be really scared, I would have to feel personally attacked/pursued. But they just move on to the next person. I understand the necessity of this, but that's my explanation as to why I wasn't super scared. The end of the first house leads to the second "scare," which is a 3D maze. They give you glasses at the entrance, and everything is spattered with neon paint. I found this to be really mundane. There was hardly anyone popping out there, and I just wasn't scared by the animatronics. Maybe it's not in my constitution to be scared by this stuff, but I did go in expecting to be genuinely scared, so I don't think it was my attitude that was the problem.
