This review is for the year 2026. Also, someone needs to change the opening time on their site, etc. It says they open at 10 AM when it's really 12 noon now. Perhaps it's their ploy with the West Covina Mall that if they leave the wrong time up, people will just go to the mall to kill time and hopefully buy things there. The store itself was better last year (in 2025) when I went for the first time. There was more to see last year. Spirit Halloween is better than this. If it wasn't for the animatronics that all the kids love, the only thing left would be the packaged-wrapped costumes. The little haunted house walk-through wasn't even open and they don't turn on their A/C so it was hot in there, which I think it was hot last year too, so husband and I didn't stay long. We had planned to go to the mall right there anyway, which we had to to kill time before the Halloween store opened, otherwise, the kind of long drive would have been a total bust. read more

My family and I saw the Haunted Halloween Store across from Porto's Bakery and Cafe; we definitely need to check it out. This location was previously a Spirit Halloween business, but is now a Haunted Halloween store. This store includes a large selection of animatronics and decorations, as well as a small haunted house on-site. Lots of decorations and costumes for all ages. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. A very nice place to visit if you enjoy Halloween. read more

very unfriendly staff. they offer no assistance. The scariest thing in the store were the prices and the costumes are outdated. The typical playboy bunny and ears, maid, nurse, nothing new. They should post a warning sign regarding children. This is no place for kids for 2 reasons. 1) the animated characters are very creepy, for adults that's good but kids in there were crying and 2) they are not kid friendly at all. Came across this shop while in the area and thought it was worth mentioning. Been to other store and I was happy about the service more so here. The staff was very help in finding what we needed. Avoid this place. Everything is over priced. We went here and bought my son a SWAT costume. It was $44.09. Then we went to Target and found the same costume for $20. I immediately went to return the overpriced costume and they refused to issue me a refund. I told them it hadn't even been an hour, we haven't been home, it was unopened. Still, they refused issue a refund. I asked about store credit, they refused that also. The person I spoke with claims to be the manager. She said they are family run so no cooperate office for me to call. They did absolutely nothing to try to make this right so now my only option is to post about our experience. So seriously, save your money and go elsewhere. You'll find the same costumes for half the price other places. read more

Established in 2005.

The Haunted Halloween Store est.2005 The Haunted Halloween Store first opened its doors in September of 2005 headed by the owner Susan Matthews. Before opening up her own store Susan managed at a Halloween store where she learned a lot about the customers and what it takes to run a functional store. With her gained knowledge in the Halloween business Susan decided to get the family together and open up a Halloween store in Covina California. Our first year was a huge success and also a learning curve for all the family members involved. We very quickly realized that the following year the Halloween store would need to have a larger location and/or we would need to order more inventory to satisfy the large demand from customers. Every year since, we have found one large location if not two locations for the store to house our wide variety of Halloween items.

What a great Halloween experience! The customer service was outstanding at Haunted and the props and decorations I bought are going to be eye catchers for the rest of the neighborhood. I even bought some costumes for the kids, because they were able to try them on before buying to make sure they fit. Get into the a spooktacular spirit at this store. It is very organized and clean. You will find…read moreunique and fun costumes, accessories, makeup and Halloween decorations. Good selection of costumes for all ages. The adult section is on the left-hand side of the store. Infant, toddler section and children merchandise is on the right-hand side of the entrance. There were employees available in the aisles, which is very helpful when you're looking for something specific. A good variety of wigs, jewelry, makeup, and hats are on display. I bought fake blood, glitter eyelashes, rhinestones, and fishnet stocking. There were two cashiers on duty, who worked quickly and efficiently to scan, bag and accept cash or credit card payments. Lots of customers kept streaming in, this was a popular location. The store is open 7 days a week. They close at 11pm, except on Sunday they close at 9pm. There is a large parking lot with plenty of free spaces. Sincerely, Rosemary

When rung up on the register I saw product marked as "toy" for $16.00. When asked what toy... man at register pointed to the unicorn toy which was clearly marked as $3.63. So I said which item costs that much... which he then pointed to the sour gummy watermelon gushers. I was not born yesterday and clearly he took advantage to up charge me the cost of the unmarked item... It's a struggling small business so I decided to just purchase items anyway but in no way can you guys get away with unfair practices such as those. If your business is struggling the more you should be nice and fair and honest to your consumers. I wish you guys the best but gut feeling this place won't stay open for that much longer.

However, they are basically a liquidation store that sells only Target clearance/sell off items: They have clothes, towels, bedding, baby supplies, beauty, gardening, seasonal, household cleaning, school/office supplies, rugs, furniture and the list goes on (just no perishables).... I love their seasonal decor (some of their stuff can be currently found at Target). I peruse their aisles, almost on the daily, since it can be heavily discounted (90% off). I use their app to "scan" the price. The staff is super friendly and amazing, especially their lead/manager Amanda and the other girls (and a boy) up front. I put my BFF onto this place and she is shocked that they are not packed/crowded... I def want to gate keep this place; but, there is enough to go around for everyone. Recommend 20/10.

Never heard of Beyond Deals until last week when I stopped by this plaza to check out Cycle Gear…read more It looks like they opened not too long ago. Super clean store and well organized! There's a lot of selections and amazing deals. They have a lot of unopened stuff but there's opened stuff here and there. You can find anything here - clothing to home essentials to sealed TVs! Most of the stuff I noticed are from Target but I'm guessing they take it stuff from everywhere. There are discounts everywhere, 20% to 70%. It all depends on what you're looking at. They do have an app that I suggest you download. Why? You can scan the QR codes on the items to know the discounted prices! Super convenient. Service is fast. They take cash and card. Plenty of parking available.
