Well Please read this prior to considering going here for your eye health... Especially if you have no Insurance
Went last year 2018 for my optometrist checkup, post check up asked for my prescription for glasses and contact lenses was told that giving me the eyeglass prescription was no problem. However they could not provide me with the contact lenses prescription as I needed to book an appointment with their contact lenses fitter. So I did....
Went in to the appointment got fitted for a lense, I wanted to buy a supply but was told that I needed to wear them for a trial period and come back to ensure that it was the appropriate lense etc... so I did ....paid for the lense fitting prior to leaving I might add...
went back 4-5 days later everything was fine and was sold a 6 month supply....
Jumping forward my 6 month supply is finished and I visited there today to restock !!
I was told in a diplomatic way that my file was incomplete because I did not return for a third and final fitting so I could not purchase any contacts.
I relayed "but I was already sold 6 months worth" (I might add that costs 450$ )
She stated that policy for the province is such that the lense fitter cannot permit more sold to me because the file is incomplete so I asked her again to clarify .??
So because I did not return a third time after I had my 6 month supply in hand I cannot buy more she said yes! I then asked for my contact lenses prescription!
You can't have that either she said because your file is incomplete.
Well need to say unhappy and utterly confused customer with this practice and process.
I've worn eyewear and contacts for 25 years 23 of that in the province of AB I have never encountered this practice or lack of customer service at a Vision center as a result
3visits into their office
After paying for an eye exam $cost
After paying for a lense fitting $cost
After buying 6 month $ much higher cost I might add than other suppliers
I cannot buy contacts or have the prescription
I was told come back next Tuesday 6 days hence and discuss this with the lens fitter as this is her my role.
Well I won't go back here it should never be this ridiculous
Future consumers consider a more user friendly system!
I also did my research there is no provincial regulations that a consumer needs 3 visits in for the purchase of contacts!!
And a great deal of vision centres don't Charge additional fees for fittings!
I have never been so dis satisfied with optometry services ! read more
