It was their second bankruptcy filing in less than two years. So today's visit to Gymboree seems destined to be our last visit to Gymboree. There are deep savings on every shelf and rack all over the store. We bought a big bag of outfits for our two grandchildren and the pricing was amazing. Everything was marked down 60 or 70%. We bought fourteen clothing items that cost us $106 -and the register slip said we saved $199.93. Not sure how long they will be opened -better get in while the getting is good, because "everything must go".

I came to the store on two separate occasions and the second time I stopped by a couple of days later, the salesperson working there recognized me and greeted me in a friendly way. Sign above the pants said they were 40% off - they weren't! Okay, I liked them, so I paid the extra money. Drove home from Mass. to Connecticut and when I got home the black pants - same size, same style - didn't fit at all. Called the store and the Manager told me I have to drive back to Mass. to return them. I asked if I could return them by mail - NO - they can't do that. Too bad for me - then the wonderful manager simply hung up on me. She'll be hearing from me again as will her boss. And, they just lost my business as well.

I've been wearing sneakers my whole life. Brand names like Converse, and no names like what you get…read moreat the discount stores. But I will look you square in the eye and confidently tell you that the most comfortable pair of sneakers I ever had were a pair of black Skechers. I wore them pretty much every day for years. I wore them to work because they didn't really look like sneakers. I wore them every weekend. I even wore them with slacks, a sport coat and tie on occasion. The only time I didn't wear them was on the very rare occasion I wore a suit. They were so freaking comfortable, so I was understandably bummed when they started to wear out on the heels. The left heel was the worst, because I actually wore out a hole in the sole, causing two things to happen. One was annoying and one was painful. Whenever I wore them on a rainy day, the wet pavement or sidewalk would cause rain water to enter that left sneaker through the holey sole and wick up into my sock. And walking around in a wet sock is one of life's big annoyances. The other problem I had was whenever I happened to step on a pebble or small rock with the exact same coordinates of that hole, the freaking pain would shoot straight up into the bottom of my foot as though I had stepped on a hypodermic needle. So that is why I walked into the Skechers store in the Lee Premium Outlets and walked out with two replacement pairs. I had the luck of walking into a "buy one pair and get a second for half price" sale. That's how I ended up paying $67.48 for two pairs of black Skechers that were tagged for $44.99 each. The store has a ton of options for men, women and kiddies, service was great, the selection and pricing was excellent. Hope you have as good an experience as I did today.

I made a purchase here for $70.98. I used my card as a debit and although on my end it said…read moreapproved they said it was denied. They suggested I do it as a charge. So I did. I got to my car noticed that the debit had come out right away and the credit charge was pending. The amount was being held against my balance as a credit purchase. I went back into the store to let them know that I was charged twice. I showed them that the debit went through and that the credit was being held against the balance. They said there was nothing that they could do. She assured me that the credit charge would just "drop off". She said it would show as a double charge. I told her that it won't show as a double charge because the other one was a debit and it had already gone through. She said there is nothing that they could do to release that pending charge. So they gave me the number to their customer service. After talking with the woman from customer service, who also told me there wasn't anything that she could do, she asked me to send her a copy of the receipt so I did. I also sent her a snapshot of my bank account showing that the debit had gone through and that the charge was being held against my balance. She too said that it was just "drop off". Do these people not know how bank account cards work? Apparently not. So Monday comes and the charge actually went through and the money was taken out of my bank account again. I called the store and explained it again to them and again they told me there wasn't anything they could do. They also said that it was against their policy to issue a refund. Um, they took my money and refused to give it back! I asked for the district managers number and I left a message and she still has not returned my call. So I called corporate. They said they had to turn it over to their IT retail department to check it out and when they make a determination they will contact me. I said the only determination they need to make is a refund. It's not even really a refund because they took my money and they didn't give it back so they kind of stole it when they refused to return it. So I did get an email response saying that they would refund the money they took in 3 to 5 business days. Now they took my money pretty quickly I feel like they should be able to get it back pretty quickly. Just be aware as I am not sure if this is some thing that they do all the time but it could be. Sounds like a scam. They should change their name to sketchy.

I walked into the store, the Saturday after Christmas and was immediately handed a 20% coupon and they were currently running a 50% sale already! I was in heaven! The only thing that was lacking was the 00p. They had a lot of 00, just not petits and that goes for all the sizes. So I got the things I knew would fit me and that was the tops. I also loaded up on some jewelry and things for the man. There are lots of employees here, but none of them really asked if people needed assistance with finding stuff. They seemed mainly concerned with ringing people up. I was asked at the register if I had any help and I happily told them no. I had over $500 worth or items and was happy to see my total drop to $200 after my discounts. I went back to exchange something two weekends later, because it turned out to be too small for my man. The store seemed to have been ransacked... And there many empty shelves. Either the sale went great or they are not really good about restocking. Either way, the store is a great deal when compared to normal jcrew. Just not the service. Will I go back? Yes, I may not like the service there, but I do love the sales and discounts. I'm too much of a jcrew lover to have it affect me.

Though the outlets, in general, have few stores that interest me now (J. Crew, Banana Republic, and kiosk in the food court that sells cinnamon rolls bigger than my head), this J. Crew outlet fails to disappoint. I can always walk away with SOMETHING. Almost all bases are covered here: clothing for men, women, and a "crewcuts" section for the wee little preppy children. Sometimes the sales are *myeh* (e.g.: The clothes I always want the most are on sale for $5 off; that cute cream-colored pencil skirt my eye was immediately drawn to upon entering the store? Down from $75 to $70. I might as well buy it in the city...) Conversely, there are always great deals on basics. T-shirts, sweaters, and cardigans are regularly 20 - 40% off, and the sales rack does yield some cute things at great bargains. This place is clean and tidy, too. Ever been to an outlet where it looks like a tornado hit the clothes? (Or, perhaps, it looks like a tourist group full of bossy women with crunchy blonde hair and fanny packs tore it apart with little regard for others?) Rarely do I come across a clothing display in which even a shirt collar is askew or a button is not done up when it should be. It's beautifully maintained, absolutely. Granted, it's a 45 minute trip from my parents' house, and Woodbury Commons isn't THAT far from NYC, but I love this store. Absolutely. When I need to get my Sexy Work Lady look in order, my pilgrimage yields rewards...like V-neck leopard-print cardigans.
