I would strongly recommend that anyone with darker skin avoid this office and continue using the Norfolk location instead, where I have always been treated with dignity and respect. Today, I was told to come into the office, only to be informed--after I arrived--that I had a balance and they could not see me. No one asked whether I could pay the balance, nor did they mention that this would prevent my appointment. I have an HSA card and could have taken care of the balance immediately, but the way they handled the situation completely dismissed that possibility as I no longer wanted to trust them with my care!!! To make matters worse, they announced that I needed to step into the back for a "financial issue" in front of everyone in the lobby, which was both unprofessional and embarrassing--especially considering I have not been to this office in two years. Their assumption that I had no ability to pay, and the overall treatment I received, felt discriminatory. I have never been treated this way at the Norfolk location. This experience was unacceptable, and others deserve to be aware of how this location conducts itself. Wish I could give zero stars.

I went in for a routine cleaning and told them that I was experiencing some discomfort and one of the crowns that I had done a year prior to, and Dr Mollie listen to what I had to say and could've easily told me I needed an expensive root canal or other dental procedure to repair, however, she diagnosed my issues and it was simply something small that she was able to take care of right then right there. It's very seldom in this world to have someone who you can trust make the decisions that are in your best interest and not in their own and that is why I love coming here.

Well after getting there, they shot an additional x ray free of charge to see what was going on, and then decided I needed a filling instead of a crown- saving me about $500. The honestly coupled with the expertise go a long way. I'll make the drive to this dentist from here on out cause it's worth it.

Apparently I lucked out because after that they were booked until April, but I was impressed. The office is pretty unassuming from the outside, but the waiting room inside is great. Very calming, nice decor and lots of art. All of the women that I talked to at the front desk (and pretty much every other person i encountered there) were very friendly. Everyone seemed happy to be there, like they actually liked their jobs. And Dr. Horwitz was the BEST! He has the greatest bed side manner I've ever experienced. The whole time he was very pleasant and joked around. He made me feel at ease, which is nice when you're about to go under the drill. He was also very quick - 5 cavities in around an hour, when my old dentist would have done 4 cavities in 2 hours. I'll definitely be coming back if I can. And the rumors are true: they play great music!

He did so for me even though the tooth he worked on had a root canal and could not feel pain any more. I had to get a crown worked on right before surgery and he got me in and worked out a fix in order to avoid any dental issues being a problem. He tries to keep costs down and is so nonchalant about it. I trust him with my and my daughter's teeth and would recommend him to any and everyone. He is a genuinely caring person and will listen to your needs! I'm grateful for him.

Went in and waited until 9:27. Told them I was leaving. They called me in the parking lot and said my appointment was for 9:30 and they would never give me another emergency appointment! Fair warning this review is long, but thorough. I don't think I could heap any higher praise on the staff that I've worked with in the last two days at the Foleck. I called in with a medical emergency situation. Basically, my situation was that I needed to get my teeth fixed as quickly as possible, so I could medically clear, and then start a Covid shelter in place on Sunday so I could go back to the ship. Not a lot of time. I had developed tooth pain while I was working on a ship offshore and Chesapeake Bay. It was to the point where Ibuprofen wasn't working, preventing me from sleeping and, I had to get off the ship. Once I got to shore and to my vehicle, I called them and they brought me right in. This first appointment was with the Hygienist Katelyn and Dr. Hamlin. Katelyn was really polite and understanding of the situation. Very easy to work with and patient. I chose Hamlin because I had seen a video she had done, talking about when you come to Foleck, it's a judgement free zone. I haven't been the best with my teeth, so I found that very comforting. When Dr. Hamlin came in, she was very nice and I could tell she knew her craft. I felt at ease. During the exam they could see that I was going to need a Root Canal. So I left and went to the Endodontist, and out of sheer luck, and the Dr. Becker understanding the emergency of the situation, decided to do my root canal that day, instead the following day. This is on a Tuesday. Come Wednesday morning, I called Foleck and Becky was able to move some things around to get me in for a temporary crown and fillings, again super short notice, but Becky moved the heavens to get me in. So I started with my appointment, this time with Hygienist Nicole. Nicole was also really nice and a joy to converse with. I certainly felt at ease with her. She got me prepped for the crown surgery. Very important note, they use a extra strength topical that numbs you up pretty good. When Hamlin did the numbing shots, I barely felt any sharp pains. So lets roll in to that, Hamlin starts doing the numbing shots and my nerves get the best of me, I reached out my left to hand, looking for a hand to hold. Nicole immediately recognized the gesture and allowed to hold her hand. Mind you this is the second time in today days that I'm the shit poked out of my cheeks. I don't think Nicole realizes how much I needed that and how much it calmed me down. I'm super grateful to her for it. The crown procedure went smooth for the most part, there a couple times Hamlin to do some more numbing, I guess I'm one of the lucky few that am resistant to numbing. You really get to see how skilled Dr. Hamlin is with her craft. She was super patient, anytime I needed to ask a question, she would pull the rubber piece holding my mouth open so I could ask it clearly. Speaking of which, Nicole was really good at understanding what I was trying to say with stuff in my mouth. So in closing, I have a hard time trusting a dentist, probably the trauma of bad visits as a kid. But with Katelyn, Nicole, and Dr. Hamlin, I felt safe and in capable hands. The Foleck Center, Becky, and Dr. Hamlin came through for me in my moment of need. They got me taken care on extremely short notice and time. Plus I'm from out of state and a new patient. I was so thankful I asked Hamlin if I could give her and Nicole a hug! So I most definitely recommend this place, and will definitely will see Hamlin again!!!

Well, she lied. Instead of her assisting me like she said she would. She contacted her lawyers and refused to see me. Every interaction I've had with her was unprofessional. She talked over me most of the conversation and was very dismissive. I wish the doctors that were there before were here now. However, I have no way to contact them and the one doctor i can get in contact with. Ms. Woodard advise me that her lawyers advised her not to give me the information. Now what type of "Doctor" does that, that really wants to assist a patient.
