Whenever I'm craving a lighter meal, I always think of poke! It's such a delicious and filling meal, but it doesn't make you get a huge food coma afterwards. I found Hashtag Poki when I was browsing Yelp and it looked super promising. We shared the Large box with a California roll and it was the perfect amount for us. We got tuna, tako (octopus), and hamachi as our proteins but unfortunately, there was no hamachi when the food got delivered :( I was pretty bummed because I've never been to a poke place that serves hamachi. The fish tasted super fresh though and they offered a huge variety of toppings. It was definitely the prettiest poke bowl I've ever had! Overall, everything tasted great, I just wish the hamachi had been there and that there were larger portions of protein (felt like only a small scoop of each type) in the order. read more

The Poki Bowl was on point! The crab salad was unreal! The Wonton chips are so good using the bowl as a dip. DELICIOSO. For sure coming back!! Service was great too. I asked a lot of questions and the staff was so helpful and patient. read more

** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** Is it poki or poke? I'm confused, and why are there so many poke places in the Bay Area, especially Berkeley? Oh I get it, it's like a cross between sushi and Chipotle at student-friendly prices, and it has the Hawaiian angle which makes it seem like you're traveling somewhere tropical without the need to climb onto a distance-averse plane. You know a trend is really trending when it's called Hashtag. Jamie W. and I have tried the other poke spots one way or the other but not this one until I noticed this was rated as tops on Hoodline. Time for a delivery. I ordered $13.50 Regular Poke Bowls for both of us, only they weren't bowls but rather cartons if you want to be accurate. We took advantage of the option of organic mixed greens instead of sushi rice. Three proteins a piece: salmon, albacore, and shrimp for Jamie; and salmon, hamachi, and ahi tuna for me. Along with fresh edamame beans, wakame salad, and wasabi mayo, the "bowls" came with a full cornucopia of toppings: nori, ginger, fried garlic, furikake, sesame seeds, and a heaping portion of masago (tiny orange fish eggs). Well number 2 son gets this often as his go to spot with Door Dash delivery. I only just tried it the other day. Fast, fresh and totally set up for pick up or delivery. Large poke didn't look much bigger than regular but it hit the spot so well... we are ordering again 2-nite! Rather a hike as it's way up on Telegraph but thanks to local knowledge of back streets takes no time to fetch and throw down. Just make sure you fish out the scoop of wasabi prior to doing so! Otherwise you will get a bite that's mostly wasabi and it's pretty potent! read more

TL:DR - All in all pretty solid but unspectacular spot. Salmon was fine, but the Tuna seemed like it could be fresher. Average price, decent portions, good side options. Mini is just one less protein and closer to the 50/50 protein to rice ratio I like. I think the mini is a better deal. ------------------------------------------------- Place is alright to pretty good. The staff was memorably nice. Pretty enthusiastic but overly so. Felt like they were pretty happy to be there, which is nice when you're asking for like 20 toppings of something to not feel like you're bothering someone. The establishment itself is pretty small, just the serving counter and maybe like 10 seats from what I remember. I got a regular portion with two scoops of salmon and one tuna with a rice and wonton chip base (I like some crunch in my poke) and then the seaweed salad and crab salad along with the spicy original and a drizzle of spicy mayo. I like that I can get wonton chips, cause I love some crunch in my poke, but I hate that it counts as a base, cause one scoop of rice is not enough. I will also say the tuna did not look fresh. It was definitely a more pale pink. I'm hoping it was just previously frozen tuna vs. old tuna. Outside of that, crab salad was pretty good. The spicy mayo, spicy original sauce, and seaweed salad were fine. Pricing is pretty average. The only other nit-pick I had was that the "mini" size is pretty much the exact same size as the regular, with just one less scoop of fish. And to be honest, I like a 50/50 or less rice to fish ratio (slightly more rice), and the regular portion is a little too much fish for me. With everything else being the same (same scoops of base and sides), the mini is a much better deal. All in all pretty solid but unspectacular. I think I'll try a few other poke places before I'd say this is a regular spot for me. read more

Came here after flying in from SFO right as it opened. Perfect time to come since everything seemed fresh and fully replenished! We got two minis and one regular size. The mini was enough food though! The spicy tuna and regular tuna are my favorites and they tasted super fresh! I like how this place puts the mix ins with the fish and sauce to be "mixed". I've never seen that before and was pleasantly surprised! I mixed sauces-ponzu and Yuzu. Next time, I'd like to try a mix of sweet and spicy. Would definitely come back again! Also wanted to thank the kind staff member who brought out a chair for us since the tables only sat two to a table and there were three of us. Thank you! read more

It's very ok. Compared to most poke places, the service is slow, portions are small, fish is aite. Not sure if Hashtag Poki is worth it-- it seems like a local favorite, but there are undoubtedly stronger competitors in Berkeley. REGULAR BOWL: Fish & sauces are average. I think there's maybe 1.5 scoops of fish in here, cradled along dainty piles of sides. Don't get me wrong, their macaroni salad and crab salad are FIRE-- but the protein is what I get poke for :-( $13 for a lumps of rice carbs & mayonnaise-y carbs... Maybe I've been spoiled by the portions in South Bay poke spots? On the positive: compared to previous reviews, it seems they've updated their COVID-related safety measures-- when my bf and I were here, the workers are wearing masks, the ground is marked for social distancing, and they've designated a specific table to leave completed orders for pickup. Looks like they're taking steps to improve, I hope they'll keep going up from here! read more

The concept of this poki place is very similar to most poki places but what was different about this place is the topping. There's not much of selection but I rather have that - it's not overwhelming and the sauce were on point. I ordered a salad as my base, with two sides (seaweed salad & crab meat), 3 protein( albacore,maguro, sake), sauce yuzu & spicy original,toppings: onion,edamame, avocado, cucumber, green onions with fried garlic & furikake & drizzle of spicy mayo. The spicy original + yuzu coated with the fish was delicious. It was citrusy from yuzu and the ponzu flavor from the original sauce. Just complimented the fish very well. Everything just mixed well together. Possibly found a new favorite poki place. read more

I absolutely love Hashtag Poki and the entire crew who works there. Everything is incredibly fresh and you can customize your order with so many different options for sides like wakame, macaroni and crab salads, hella proteins, including ahi, salmon, squid, and then, the add-ons like cucumbers and jalapeños are always crisp and cut fresh. Plus, house-made sauces. They also recently added onigiri! My son loves to get the chicken katsu onigiri and an order of gyoza or he also enjoys the miso grilled salmon with brown rice. Definitely give this place a try and you'll be back over and over. read more

Really terrible portion sizes. Paid about $20 for a large for takeout during these COVID-19 season - the scoops of rice were TINY, each about the size of a small tangerine. And the meat ??? Barely anything. Forgot a picture because we ordered for my boyfriend and he was so hungry he grabbed it, said "this is a meal for an ABG" and then gobbled it down in under a minute. Smallest amount of poké for this price point I've ever seen at any place in east bay. Would recommend going literally anywhere else, maybe down the street a few blocks to Poke Parlor for a much larger portion and lower price range. Disappointed. read more

It's a decent spot for poke but as a returning customer it was sad to see the " squid salad " side becoming a protein (which was definitely a selling pint before) and I'm tired of every hole in the wall round town jacking up their prices overnight... it went up again recently and it's as expensive as a nicer sitdown restaurant now read more

The best poke I've had in the Bay Area. Fresh fish with many options for sauces. Closely resembles Hawaiian poke in the way they provide sushi rice as a base and Mac salad as a side option! Even the side of crab salad tastes better here. Portion sizes are fair, def more than that I'm used to in the city. Get the salmon with their normal sauce and ask for a side of the spicy mayo! read more

I've been coming here about once a month since early 2023 after my partner introduced me to poke bowls. The fish is always fresh and we've always been satisfied with the portions and price. The staff is direct to move the line along while also attending to online orders. One of the staff members even briefly came out down Telegraph calling for us when my partner left her wallet after dining in, which we greatly appreciated. I'm finally sharing my thoughts about Hashtag Poki because I recently tried one of their new menu items: one of the "Okinawa onigiri." Unlike conventional onigiri, Okinawa onigiri is like a sandwich with Spam. We ordered an avocado one to complement our poke bowls one evening and wow, it was incredible! The textures and flavors of the nori sheet, rice, teriyaki sauce, Spam, egg, and cooling avocado were a delight. The Okinawa onigiri was surprisingly large too. I definitely plan on trying the other flavors on future visits. read more

Been here twice and really loved it both times. My latest order was a small with double sushi rice, double mac salad, side of wonton chips, ahi tuna with spicy mayo + ponzu, edamame & green onion mix ins, topped with fried onions + ginger. Pretty basic, but I prefer a less loaded poke bowl. The rice and mac are so good, the fish tastes fresh, and the wonton chips are nice to have if you're like me and need something crunchy on the side with most meals. The portion is quite small, but I have a small appetite so it's perfect to me! read more

Inspired by #LocalYelp! Emma W and her poke tour has lured me in and caught my fresh interest in this Hawaiian fish treat! Know that my family is from Aiea, HI. I'm named after King David Kamehameha and I visit every year. I know island poke. My father made it from the fresh catch he caught himself. Only in recent years has poke spawned on the Mainland shores. I'm just curious. Masako, ig_AtomicOwl, my manicurist, told me about Hashtag Poke. So before I go to play beauty parlor with her, I stopped in for lunch. A sole customer was there at 1:45pm and no line. Great, because I always feel rushed to order and I want to take my time memorizing the menu wall. I ordered a Regular Bowl: Mixed Greens, sides of crab salad and spicy ika (squid), servings of protein. Shrimps, Tako, and Albacore. Toppings of avocado, green onions, edamame, sesame seeds, and nori. I asked the happy to help Asian-homegirl server what dressing she liked. 1/2 spicy soy sauce and 1/2 ponzu. My bowl was absolutely fabulous! Fresh nice sized pieces of seafood. I liked the fact too it was assembled separately so that I can mix the ingredients as I please. The service was very courteous and owner was pleasant. Street metered parking was easy. Eco- friendly containers/cutlery, assorted compost bins, and recycling. I wish I had taken a photo because it was prepared in an appealing way, seriously food porn. Now let me tell you... the poke I got with tuna and hamachi was off the charts. So fresh! I had chunky pieces of sushi till my last bite and I only got the small size, the portions were perfect. The sides were delicious, I got the Mac salad and edamame. The shoyu, ponzu and yuzu sauces were so tasty. I also got the spicy mayo and it was perfectly spiced. All of the toppings were fresh as well and they were not cheap on the avocado! The service was fantastic from the moment I walked in. They were busy getting orders ready but did not miss a beat when greeting me. Super helpful in checking in while I was reading the menu and deciding. They didn't forget to check in again and had perfect timing when realizing I was ready to order. Answered all of my questions, I didn't have too many questions but the responses were quick and descriptive. Everyone was attentive, polite and friendly. The ambiance was bright, energetic and perfect for lunch. I came in just before lunch started. Enjoyed my meal at the restaurant and had to give compliments because I was very impressed!! read more

WOW! If you are ever craving poke, THIS is the place to go for sure! I got their mini poke bowl last night because I wasn't too hungry but man, it comes with so much. You can easily make two meals out of it. This place has a great price point, too. There are a lot of items to choose from on the menu that it will NOT disappoint. Honestly I'm really disappointed since I really wanted to like this place but the scoops are small af for the price Food: I got the regular poke box with 3 scoops of salmon and the scoops are so small. I honestly felt like this was 2 scoops of salmon at most and definitely not worth the price. The flavor and freshness of everything seemed ok and I really liked how they split the sides so you can mix it in your self. STAY AWAY! FOOD POISONING ALERT: Don't eat here you will get food poisoning! You will get sick if you eat here. Stay away! The fish is rubbery and does not even smell fresh. They went and asked yelp to remove my review these people not only cheat on the portions but also know how to cheat the reviews! I called to report the food poisoning the owner was so rude and told me I don't give a fuck. He did not even want to say sorry! The owners of this business I'm sorry to say but they are very bad. Go to other poke places you care about not getting diarrhea for 7 days! The owner who's asian has no manners whatsoever and so is his partner! Very rude how can u trust them with raw food? I get delivery every week or two of Hashtag Poki - it's one of our go-tos! As a lover of poke and a skeptic of poke restaurants, I think Hashtag Poki is the best I've encountered. Why am I a skeptic of poke places? Well I think a lot of poke joints have to either charge crazy prices or cut corners on quality to get by, and Hashtag Poki does neither. The pieces of fish are large, fresh, and of high quality, and the price of a bowl is competitive. FYI the saucing is pretty light, so if you like a lot of flavor add extra. The large is quite large, but it's such good value! So I usually get the large, aspire to save half, but in reality finish it all in one sitting. read more

I stopped here for lunch because traffic to SF was horrendous. There were 2 parking spaces in the back for the restaurant, with one open for me. I ordered the sashimi box and a side of seaweed salad. I was given a choice of fish and I selected salmon and hamachi on all greens. The fish was very fresh and nicely chilled. The seaweed salad was flavorful and not overdressed. The service was friendly and fast. They prepared my order in about a minute, having to cut the sashimi to order. I sat outside with my lunch and a perrier. It was very enjoyable. I recommended this place and will be back if I'm nearby. read more

We got a hamachi box and spicy tuna and salmon box. The ingredients were all very fresh and they have so many sides to choose from, including MACARONI SALAD!! The service was also quick and overall I had an amazing experience! If this place was closer to campus, would definitely come here more often! read more

This is my favorite poke place in Berkeley, and potentially the East Bay! The portions are generous, and the fish is super fresh. The mini (pictured - I know how is this the mini??? So great) is basically a medium anywhere else, and the two scoops of protein are ample. The line usually moves pretty quickly and efficiently, and they have the standard set of fixings that you would expect from a poke place. I find that what sets them apart is really the quality of ingredients that shine through. read more

THE BEST POKE IN BERKELEY! Seriously. Poke is my favorite food and I get poke from here at least once, sometimes twice a week LOL. Since I tried this place, no other place compares. There have been days where I felt a little adventurous and tried to order from a different poke place in Berkeley that I haven't tried, but once I try the food, I immediately am disappointed and regret my decision to not order from Hashtag Poki. Their fish is always fresh, no matter what time of the day I order from them (11am, 4pm, or right before closing!) Maybe it's their style of presenting the poke, in a box rather than in a bowl? Because of that, it allows all the elements ordered to really shine through and nothing gets all mushy. (Also speaking of the box, their packaging is compostable!) I love their salmon and spicy tuna! Extremely fresh. All of their toppings and sides are really great too. The macaroni salad is an underrated good one. The only thing I would change about Hashtag Poki is if their edamame side would already be out if their pods, but that's a personal problem. read more

As with everything during this COVID-19 time, I was recently at a local hospital (visiting, not staying) and in need of a meal, called Hashtag Poke because it was recommended to me. Especially during COVID-19, everything seems harder than it is. To visit anyone at the hospital, there is only 1 visitor per day and you can go, but never leave. If you do, you can't re-enter the hospital the same day, you just leave. So since I was a "hostage" at the hospital, I called Hashtag Poke hoping to 1) get some pointers on how to order something I was told was on the menu, but NOT on the internet menu and 2) get it delivered to the hospital (it was convenient to the hospital, like about a city block). The kid on the line told me there were no phone orders, I had to order through DoorDash. When I told him that the item I wanted was NOT on the InterWeb menu, he said, just make an order with a "placer" item (any item on the menu) and in the notes, put in the item that does not appear on the online menu. So that is what I did. I did not get what I wanted. I got what I ordered. Which, was fine, but not what I wanted. Door Dash was okay, but seemed to not be able to find the front door of the hospital. The meal itself was okay. I ordered the smallest bento size, which for me, was just right. I got a scoop of brown rice (like a big ice cream scoop), maybe half a cup, tuna sashimi, garlic chips and a double order of macaroni salad (a treat for me). The best thing was the macaroni salad (but I'm a sucker for macaroni salad). Since the rest was really not what I ordered, I would say it was just "meh". Would I go again? Sure, if I was not being held hostage in a hospital and I could actually get what I wanted. Or if I had a craving for macaroni salad that could not be satisfied somewhere else. Overall, the experience was not great from a customer service point of view. (Since I was already calling them, and if the person on the phone cared, he could have taken my order and matched it with the door dash when it came). And the food was just "meh". This is probably my favourite poke spot in Berkeley. The fish was fresh the times I've gone and I love the side options. I usually build my own mini bowl (yes, mini. The portion is pretty big still and is really filling!). The mini allows you to have two portions of protein, two bases and two sides. There are mix-ins, toppings and sauces you choose as well. For additional protein portions, based and sides you pay extra. I usually get salmon and hamachi with two servings of brown rice, the macaroni salad (so yum. This is a game changer for me), and crab salad, with whatever toppings I feel for that day. I really like the options and the big serving size. If you're indecisive about sauces you can also get them on the side. They also use compostable containers. Definitely recommend this spot to get your poke fix! read more

The fish to rice ratio was good and you can tell that the fish was fresh! I loved the smokiness of the salmon aburi. It was cooked perfectly, but not to the point where it was cooked completely. The owner rang up my order and bagged it up for me. He even threw in some fortune cookies, soysauce, and wasabi!
