Today, I happened to have a poke bowl craving and I was thrilled to know I was less than 4 miles away but in typical Bay Area traffic it took me almost 20 minutes to get there. They follow all covid protocols and offer online ordering. I personalized my own bowl and picked it up as scheduled. Street parking was ample. Service was quick and extremely friendly. Whenever I'm craving a lighter meal, I always think of poke! It's such a delicious and filling meal, but it doesn't make you get a huge food coma afterwards. I found Hashtag Poki when I was browsing Yelp and it looked super promising. We shared the Large box with a California roll and it was the perfect amount for us. We got tuna, tako (octopus), and hamachi as our proteins but unfortunately, there was no hamachi when the food got delivered :( I was pretty bummed because I've never been to a poke place that serves hamachi. The fish tasted super fresh though and they offered a huge variety of toppings. It was definitely the prettiest poke bowl I've ever had! Along with fresh edamame beans, wakame salad, and wasabi mayo, the "bowls" came with a full cornucopia of toppings: nori, ginger, fried garlic, furikake, sesame seeds, and a heaping portion of masago (tiny orange fish eggs). Well number 2 son gets this often as his go to spot with Door Dash delivery. I only just tried it the other day. Fast, fresh and totally set up for pick up or delivery. Large poke didn't look much bigger than regular but it hit the spot so well... we are ordering again 2-nite! Rather a hike as it's way up on Telegraph but thanks to local knowledge of back streets takes no time to fetch and throw down. Just make sure you fish out the scoop of wasabi prior to doing so! There's not much of selection but I rather have that - it's not overwhelming and the sauce were on point. I ordered a salad as my base, with two sides (seaweed salad & crab meat), 3 protein( albacore,maguro, sake), sauce yuzu & spicy original,toppings: onion,edamame, avocado, cucumber, green onions with fried garlic & furikake & drizzle of spicy mayo. Really terrible portion sizes. Paid about $20 for a large for takeout during these COVID-19 season - the scoops of rice were TINY, each about the size of a small tangerine. And the meat ??? Barely anything. Forgot a picture because we ordered for my boyfriend and he was so hungry he grabbed it, said "this is a meal for an ABG" and then gobbled it down in under a minute. I had chunky pieces of sushi till my last bite and I only got the small size, the portions were perfect. The sides were delicious, I got the Mac salad and edamame. I ordered a Regular Bowl: Mixed Greens, sides of crab salad and spicy ika (squid), servings of protein. Shrimps, Tako, and Albacore. Toppings of avocado, green onions, edamame, sesame seeds, and nori. I asked the happy to help Asian-homegirl server what dressing she liked. 1/2 spicy soy sauce and 1/2 ponzu. My bowl was absolutely fabulous! Fresh nice sized pieces of seafood. I liked the fact too it was assembled separately so that I can mix the ingredients as I please. Why am I a skeptic of poke places? Well I think a lot of poke joints have to either charge crazy prices or cut corners on quality to get by, and Hashtag Poki does neither. The pieces of fish are large, fresh, and of high quality, and the price of a bowl is competitive. FYI the saucing is pretty light, so if you like a lot of flavor add extra. I stopped here for lunch because traffic to SF was horrendous. There were 2 parking spaces in the back for the restaurant, with one open for me. I ordered the sashimi box and a side of seaweed salad. I was given a choice of fish and I selected salmon and hamachi on all greens. The fish was very fresh and nicely chilled. The seaweed salad was flavorful and not overdressed. The service was friendly and fast. They prepared my order in about a minute, having to cut the sashimi to order. I sat outside with my lunch and a perrier. It was very enjoyable. This is my favorite poke place in Berkeley, and potentially the East Bay! The portions are generous, and the fish is super fresh. The mini (pictured - I know how is this the mini??? So great) is basically a medium anywhere else, and the two scoops of protein are ample. The line usually moves pretty quickly and efficiently, and they have the standard set of fixings that you would expect from a poke place. THE BEST POKE IN BERKELEY! Seriously. Poke is my favorite food and I get poke from here at least once, sometimes twice a week LOL. Since I tried this place, no other place compares. There have been days where I felt a little adventurous and tried to order from a different poke place in Berkeley that I haven't tried, but once I try the food, I immediately am disappointed and regret my decision to not order from Hashtag Poki. Their fish is always fresh, no matter what time of the day I order from them (11am, 4pm, or right before closing!) Maybe it's their style of presenting the poke, in a box rather than in a bowl? Because of that, it allows all the elements ordered to really shine through and nothing gets all mushy. (Also speaking of the box, their packaging is compostable!) I love their salmon and spicy tuna! Extremely fresh. All of their toppings and sides are really great too. The macaroni salad is an underrated good one. The portion is pretty big still and is really filling!). The mini allows you to have two portions of protein, two bases and two sides. There are mix-ins, toppings and sauces you choose as well. For additional protein portions, based and sides you pay extra. I usually get salmon and hamachi with two servings of brown rice, the macaroni salad (so yum. This is a game changer for me), and crab salad, with whatever toppings I feel for that day. I really like the options and the big serving size. If you're indecisive about sauces you can also get them on the side. They also use compostable containers. Definitely recommend this spot to get your poke fix! read more

We'd ordered via phone. We went with the four protein option: hamachi, salmon, albacore, ahi. Everything was delicious and the portions were great for appx. $14. We both added avocado for an additional dollar. You do need to pay $.25 for asking for the sauce on the side. It was prepared and ready to go by the time I got to the spot (which was only a few minutes later). I wish they'd gone a bit heavier on the masago, and had sliced the white onions a bit more. I want to preface this with the people working there were really nice and my food was prepared correctly. I am giving the restaurant 2 stars because they very obviously changed the ingredients to a lower quality. I loved this place for their spicy ahi and it was made the way it's made in Hawaii. Although, not anymore. The spicy ahi is no longer cut cubes of ahi with the sesame spicy mayo sauce, it's now shredded scraps of ahi with a Sriracha sauce. I'm so disappointed in this direction they went with the menu. I feel a bit ripped off because I paid more than I have in the past and the quality of fish is terrible.
