Whenever I go to Sawtelle, I always make it a point to at least do one walkabout this Nursery which is been such a neighborhood staple for so many years. This past Sunday I went through with some friends would never been before, and we purchased some pots and plants for our homes to spruce up summer. The staff is always was so helpful and the selection around the nursery is endless. It's also so nice that they even have a special section for indoor plants, to make choosing what type of plants you want for your home easier. The pot selection is also great, with so many different types to choose from ranging from classic ceramic to ones with a little bit of whimsical vibes. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area and to support a local business like this! You won't regret it!

Amazing selection of plants and pots at reasonable prices! One of my favorite nurseries and there's a dedicated parking lot with a few spaces which is much appreciated

The Baseline: For a garden nursery it must offer well taken care of plants, a good selection of species, and be well priced. Hashimoto Nursery is a treasure of a business on Sawtelle. They have a good selection of cared for plants with a variety of offerings. Locally owned and locally grown with a few Monrovia Nursery pots to supplement their supply. There are clearly labeled areas along with detail labels on the pots. Pricing is a bit more difficult ascertain while walking around but the staff are helpful to assist.

Whenever I have some free time, I love visiting local nurseries. There's something incredibly calming and energizing about being surrounded by quietly growing plants in the middle of a hectic life. And finding that rare plant to bring home? That's always a special joy. That's why discovering Hashimoto Nursery tucked between new buildings in busy Sawtelle feels like such a gift. It's been here for decades, and you can feel the history the moment you walk in. I came looking for a few plants for my shop and ended up finding a wonderful variety -- from cacti and California natives to healthy, vibrant plants delivered from Monrovia in Oregon. What stood out the most was the kindness and deep knowledge of the staff. They helped me find exactly what I was looking for and made the experience even more enjoyable. There were so many healthy hidden gems throughout the nursery that I wanted to take them all home -- but I showed some restraint (for now). If you're in West LA and looking for a great plant shopping experience, I highly recommend stopping by. And when you're done, definitely check out the great restaurants just steps away on Sawtelle. It's a perfect way to spend a relaxed afternoon.

POTS! Glorious POTS! pricey but still they are a few unique pots also there were quite a few that had no holes. My daughter, grandchildren and I came out after the rains and picked up some Anemones, Ranunculus and Poppies. Great selection for flowers in the yard. Houseplants were not as plentiful but let's be real... Spring time is for flowers. Respectfully Reviewed. #nurserycrawl

The Hashimoto Nursery is the oldest and largest retail plant nursery in the Sawtelle area, which is located in the heart of west LA. They have their own designated parking lot attached to the nursery. This place opens every day except for Tuesdays.

I absolutely love this nursery! I visit whenever I drive to LA so I can just load up my car with plants. They always have a great selection of healthy indoor and outdoor varieties and the owners are super nice!

So cute. Grab a boba and walk around this gem. I had no idea this was here but they close early so check the hours before you go. So many beautiful plants for sale. Much better than buying a plant at a grocery store. If it weren't for lack of parking, and having to park blocks away from my destination, I would never have discovered this place. They have a whole greenhouse for indoor plants, outdoors, they have succulents and flower plants that looked pretty and interesting. I will remember this place for my next housewarming gift because they have such unique potted flowers. The pricing looked pretty decent too.

We decided to clean up the area so we could host an important family event, and our search led to Gio and his team. He responded quickly, and we discussed what we were looking for in re-purposing the rear 1/3 of our property. He described his vision and methods, and provided a very reasonable quote. We decided to move forward, and we left it up to him to provide and plant what was needed to create a perfect space that was both functional for entertainment and really pleasant to just relax and enjoy. Gio and his team did not disappoint. He met (and exceeded) our expectations, and stuck to the schedule and budget. And he didn't just create planter areas and new lawn, he also installed a paver walkway to match our existing patio stones. When he was finished with the original scope, he offered to maintain the rear yard to make sure our investment (and his hard work) would continue to look as good as the day he finished. He is not a typical "mow-blow-& go" gardening service. When he and his team arrive, they look around, see whatever needs care and attention, make everything right, and leave every inch of the yard neatly trimmed and clean. We are looking forward to asking Gio and his team to re-imagine and transform the side and front landscaped areas of our home. We can't recommend him enough.

Fortunately, Gio responded promptly to our initial call and provided a thorough assessment based on our home's needs and goals. Our beloved plants have been thriving under Gio & Co.'s care, so we wanted to share our feedback in case there were others like us seeking someone knowledgeable and trustworthy to provide regular TLC to their plants. It is obvious he and his team take great care and personal pride in what they do; as a result we have received numerous compliments - including from the landscaper who installed the garden! The hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies that frequent our well-tended flowers seem to give Gio's Gardening Company a 10/10 as well. Lastly, I want to note how grateful I am that he and his team took special care to help our bougainvilleas and orange tree flourish. Gio had a great idea to "train" the bougainvilleas along our rear wall and now they're like artwork by our pergola. True, they're not that rare in LA, but they were planted by my parents and hold much sentimental value. Being able to see them grow and do well has me count his services as a solid ROI alone. Gardening is an art and a science. We're so grateful to have found a dedicated pro who has been able to provide us solutions for all things plant-related here in LA!

She scolded me for washing them and said that she couldn't smell anything which is absolutely ridiculous. She said I was the FIRST PERSON EVER to return sheets at a HomeGoods for the smell. Even though it's all over Reddit as an issue. She said she'd do a "one time favor" but they can't be re-sold. Even with a green thumb and years of experience caring for plants, almost half of the plants I received did not survive for more than a month. What is disappointing is that the company only offers a replacement or refund within 3 days of receiving the plants. Plants are living things, and sometimes issues do not become apparent immediately. A better policy would allow customers enough time to see whether the plants are truly healthy. For comparison, companies like Costa Farms have a much more customer-friendly return policy, which shows they stand behind the quality of their plants. The person who emailed my daughter today after she reached out for help was also unfriendly and unhelpful, which made the experience even more disappointing. I truly appreciate the thoughtful gift from my children -- the idea was perfect because they know me so well -- but unfortunately, this company did not live up to the expectations that came with such a special gift.
