    U-Pick Raspberries
    Devin H.

9 out of 10 would recommend (so just leave the 1 complainer at home, and go as a group of 9)! Always come as soon as they open for EASY U-pick. Come a couple hours after open for more of a treasure hunt. They usually run out of ripe berries within 3 hours. Once they've been picked, they shut the doors and you'll have to come back next time.

    ~6.5 Lbs of strawberries

Got here early in the morning at 8:20 to beat the 100F heat. Was pretty packed for that early in the morning, so this is definitely a good spot. Check their Facebook page for update to date hours. We picked 6.5lbs of strawberries in about 40 minutes. There are a lot of ripe berries and they tasted great at home. That being said, the berries were on the small side - maybe if we came earlier in June, it would've been better?

$4 for 1lb for u-pick raspberries. They provide the cardboard box and carrier. Tons of parking and easy to find. This is a great summer activity with awesome prices and a fun experience! Great for groups and kids. They direct you to your own row so you can pick at your own pace and get first pick. The berries are so fresh and delicious. Will be returning!

My first time strawberry picking, happy to report we went to the right farm. This place had good amount, but heads up large parts of the field were already over picked by the second week in (when we ventured out for the picking). The strawberries are pretty sweet and reasonably priced, really delicious affair going on right now with homemade strawberry shortcakes prep. Fun thing to do with family. Tip - go early to avoid large day time crowds. Be sure to dress comfortably and avoid your best summer outfits. You're bound to get hot, sweaty and dirty bending down to the bushes that are low to the ground. Most importantly, don't put unwashed strawberries in your mouth! They have pesticides so definitely not a good idea, as I saw a bunch of tourists do today.

    U-pick! $1.40 per pound!!!

I love picking my own strawberries. They are just so much tastier and sweeter, and juicier than the supermarket ones. Plus it's way cheaper! And more fun! I wanted to go strawberry picking and I found two places in Carnation, including this one. The other place seemed more like a small family theme park, so I opted to go with this one. Harvold's is a smaller farm that does strawberries and raspberries. When you check in, you pick up this adorable wooden carrier and a cardboard box, which conveniently fits perfectly into the carrier. There is a sign that explains how it works - after you pick up a carrier and box, go to one of the employees and they'll tell you which row you can pick strawberries from. You start from where the flag is, and when you're finished, you move the flag to the point where you stopped. This way, they can sort of prevent all the rows from being overpicked, so that they can keep the U-pick season going. It's fun because it's kind of like treasure-hunting. The ripe strawberries are hiding beneath huge green leaves. This is a great wholesome activity for friends and families. Once you are done picking all the strawberries you want, go back to the check-in area and there's a kiosk where these kids will weigh your strawberries and you can pay. When I was there, there was a sign for cash only. I'm not sure if they take credit card ever, so definitely bring enough cash with you. I recommend wearing wellies (can be muddy, especially if it had been raining the night before) or at least sneakers, but not flip flops. And bring water and a hat and sunscreen, since you're picking outside and it's not covered at all. There are porta-potties if you need to go. Check their facebook site to see when U-pick season starts and ends. I've found that strawberry U-pick is pretty short and just in the month of June. Also, after you pick the strawberries, you need to eat them pretty quickly. I went a little overboard and picked so many, that I shared as much as I could to get help eating them and baked them into strawberry muffins too. I should've freezed some too. Strawberry fields forever!

Me and my boy friend visited here almost end of the U-pick season. Our strawberries were not super big and fresh. Although we picked so many strawberries and rasberries as well. Rasberries were bigger, juicy and well riped than what you can get from grocery. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Location wasn't too bad; it only took 40 mins from where I live. It is a great place for kids and with friends, too. I would like to go back next year when the season starts so that I can get some bigger berries.

I absolutely love this local farm for berry picking! Its a no frills place where the focus is on their beautiful fruits. This farm has strawberries and raspberries. Strawberry season began 6/12 and they're open Mon through Sat (Sun closed) from 8am - 8pm. They update their FB page frequently so follow them there for the latest information. The strawberries are uber sweet!!! Strawberries are $1.40/lb (very affordable) and they provide containers to bring your fruits home. Bring wet wipes and be in clothes and shoes that don't mind a little some dirt. It is a bit of back breaking work especially for adults because the fruits are pretty much ground level. It's great for kids but I recommend putting them in long pants. There are some prickly thorns so just be aware. Nothing too sharp just more of an annoyance for the kids. On sunny days, recommend a hat and lots of sunscreen. There is plenty of parking available but it can get quite busy on the weekends. As of right now they anticipate raspberries in full swing around 7/4 but again, check their FB page. Raspberries are super easy and more fun to pick IMO. Plus it's a lot cleaner and easier to sneak in a few tasty morsels while you're picking! I truly love this farm and it's a great place to bring people and kids for a fun and tasty activity.

    Mid July,lots of berries !

First time picking berries. Kids loved it! It is sunny and no shady areas while browsing the many rows of berries. Be prepared to bask in the sun/heat. Be prepared to get your shoes dirty or dusty. BRING sunscreen, hat, loose pants/shirt

Last day of the season did not disappoint!

We came on the very last day of the season so I wasn't expecting very easy picking. I'm sure if I were to come in mid-season, I would have a much better impression of the place. Berry price changes throughout the season, with the cheapest berries during the peak of harvest. Today was $2.75 a pound for raspberries. They were pretty scarce and we only managed 1-1.5lbs an hour per person. I totally got in touch with my peasant side- I felt like I was picking what was left after the big harvest haha I wouldn't have left the fields open so late into the summer.

What a little adventure outside the city! We loved coming out here to pick our own strawberries right in the middle of the season! We were worried the place would be picked clean but it added to the fun when we went farther out into the field. The strawberries taste amazing. You're given a basket and all the time you need. They weigh and charge by the pound. I made sure to wear some rainboots because it was a bit dusty out that day.

Harvold Berry Farm has both the most pristine, delicious raspberry crop but also is incredibly organized! I loved how they assigned us our own row to pick from, because it made our time a lot more relaxed. The bushes on our row were bursting full of fruit and they were so easy to pick (side note: from my limited experience berry picking, picking raspberries trumps blueberries and strawberries in terms of how easy/fun they are to pick. Downside is that washing raspberries is tough since they're so fragile!). We picked on Saturday, 6/25 and that day raspberries were $2.50/lb. They did accept credit cards, but that Within a few hours, we had amassed 22 lbs of berries and racked up quite a bill, but it was so worth it. Arrive early in the morning/close to opening so that it's not too crowded! Seriously, I don't think I've ever had a more perfect tasting raspberry. I'm already looking forward to next year so that we can return for more berry picking!

I went to pick up strawberries but the farm was full of weeds. The strawberries were too small and the overall experience was not too good.

Pleasant people and not crowded if you get there early. Plenty of berries and 30 minutes got us 12lbs! The family had a great time.

A PNW Treasure for Families!…read more If you're looking for the perfect family day trip in the Snoqualmie Valley, Remlinger Farms is an absolute must. We had such an incredible time here, and it's easily become one of our favorite local spots. What makes this place special is that it's so much more than just a farm--it's a full-blown experience. Here's why we loved it: The Fun Park: The rides are perfect for younger kids! From the classic kiddie coaster to the charming train ride that loops around the property, there's plenty to keep them entertained for hours. The Animals: The petting zoo was a huge hit. The animals are well-cared for, and it's such a sweet, hands-on way for kids to connect with nature. The Food & Market: You cannot leave without visiting the market. Their famous pies (especially the marionberry!) are legendary for a reason. We also loved the café for a quick, fresh lunch. The Atmosphere: Even when it's busy, the farm has a wonderful, relaxed energy. It's clean, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the scenery in Carnation is just stunning. Whether you're going for the summer berries, the fall pumpkin patch, or just a weekend outing, Remlinger Farms delivers every time. It's a nostalgic, wholesome, and genuinely fun place to make memories. We'll definitely be back!

Otherwise, driving around and trying to find parking near the main entrance would have been a hassle since the spaces there were much smaller and too many cars were there anyway. Once we walked inside, there was a market full of snacks - baking flavors, candy Apple, hot chocolate mix, Pumpkins, taffy, trail mix, etc. You can also buy tickets there or scan the pre-paid online QR Code in order to get Stickers to go on in. Just have to walk through the turnstile or however you call it to get to the area with the rides - Ferris wheel, merry go round, a small roller coaster and more, farm animals, restaurant and train. A short walk to each of the different sections of the farm with little photo areas were present as well, along with the arcade, bathrooms, restaurant and snack bars (only open on weekends). The other side of the farm had the U-Pick Pumpkins as you enter/exit the Remlinger Farms while driving on the main road. Anyhow for 2 Adults, 1 baby (less than 2 years old), the admission fees online cost $17.50 plus tax on a weekday. Overall, we had a decent experience as our first time. Rode on a few of the rides, including the train, which was a pretty short round-trip. Took some nice pictures, visited the petting zoo, and the bouncy place with my son. Picked out a couple of Pumpkins on our drive out and called it a day after spending 2 hours there. Would have been better if all of the rides and snack bars were open for the public on the weekdays, too. But we probably wouldn't visit on the weekends since I am sure it's really crowded and parking would be a mess. Plus, the entrance fees would be more expensive.

But I was very turned off last year by them asking for tips when paying with a credit card! They can turn off the tip option on their credit card machine but they choose not to. I think sometimes they let go through the screen yourself and select your options on the ipad but I've also encountered them several times asking loudly, do you want to leave a tip? Their u-pick prices are already $1-$3 higher per pound for most things compared to the farmers market and then on top of that they want tips. It is DISGUSTING. They don't make tipped wages like waiters so why are they trying to get even more money from their customers through tips? People may leave tips but guess what, in this economic climate, we don't want to leave tips. But we feel that if we don't that you will not only judge us but perhaps even treat us badly. The tips that you have received aren't a signal that we think you are doing a great job; we are afraid of repercussions if we don't. Edit: I thought they were organic but I just checked their website and it doesn't explicitly say that they are, it did mention healthy soil. But it says they offer organic vegetable starts which kinda implies they are organic. So keep this in mind when looking at their pricing.

Arriving at Carnation Farms, not knowing what exactly might be there, I was firstly surprised to see the classic "Carnation Farms" logo with the exact font type and the carnation flower on the cans of evaporated milk that I have seen my entire life. Wait a minute, is this THE "Carnation Farms"? Well, yes, but also a no, but also a yes. LOL. I ended up reading the historical signs and chatting with the cashier for a while (there were no other customers - zero). Carnation was indeed the dairy farm that made the now world-famous evaporated milk, created in 1899. The business grew and thrived so well that the community of Tolt was renamed to Carnation in 1917 although the name changed back and forth two more times before it stayed with Carnation. In downtown Carnation, many businesses are still named Tolt, including the Tolt River. In 1985, Nestle brought the Carnation company. In 2016, the original Stuart family purchased the name "Carnation Farms" back from Nestle. The name rights exclude diary, but they have animals and is now a venue, amongst other business ventures. We missed a local market that was on the previous day. Today, this sleepy business sells many locally made products and hosts community events such as the local market. Limited bundles of produce represented the 'farm' name poorly, if I am being honest. I asked the cashier which products in the store are actually from the current farm. She pointed to the freezer case. I chose a frozen curry goat soup from the case. It was passable, more soup than goat, i.e. not much meat. If you want to visit, check their calendar of events and go for a museum tour or one of their many events. The shop itself is less interesting.
