I love being a part of Harvie! It is kind of like being a part of a farm share because you have access to awesome local produce, but you get to pick all of your products. Every week your cart comes preloaded based on your past purchases and rating of various foods. It is super easy to edit the cart and they send at least three reminders about shopping and editing your cart. If you miss customization it isn't Harvie's fault. Once your order is processed, you get notification of a timeframe for your delivery which gives you a timeframe to put your box and other reusable/recyclable materials for the delivery driver to pick up. The website is easy to navigate with categories like "new and seasonal" and "vegetables" "fruit" "chicken" etc. They try to source most of their products from local farms and producers (although I notice that there are definitely more non local options popping in). Customer service is wonderful if you ever experience an issue, but it can take awhile to get a response. 95% of the time our products are high quality, fresh and tasty. And when they aren't, the customer service team takes care of you. Harvie is a grocery delivery service through which consumers purchase foods from local and regional farmers and vendors. On November 14 (Sunday) (I am including my dates so you can understand the ordering process and timeline), I created my account, and I set my preferences for dozens of foods as well as the size of box that I wanted (I chose "small"). On November 15 (Monday), Harvie used my ratings to suggest products for my delivery, and they emailed me that I could swap out many of those products for other products. The deadline for me to customize my order was on November 16 (Tuesday) at 2 PM. Delivery occurred on November 19 (Friday). Selection of products - Harvie strives to sell a wide variety of products, so consumers can complete all of their grocery shopping. For my first order, the website listed about 400 products from numerous businesses that I had not previously heard of. The website displayed high-quality photos of the foods and some descriptive text. Harvie offered only 3 fruits, which were all apples, but I assume that the small selection was because of the season. Harvie offered several dozen vegetables, which came from many different farms and were sometimes organic. Harvie also offered several dozen meats, only a few seafood products, several dozen dairy products, several dozen grain and bread products, some live plants and flowers, several dozen beverages and coffees, a few dozen condiments, a few dozen baking and cooking products such as oils and spices, some desserts, etcetera! Prices - Harvie said that it passes along a higher percentage of money to farmers--4 times as much as regular grocery stores! I, however, did find some of the prices of the products to be high. Harvie does have a promotion that you can obtain a free box of groceries or a $25 discount, but I unfortunately did not see those promotions until I had already placed my order for regularly priced food. I had ordered apple cider, pasta and sauce, apples, cucumbers, potatoes, celeriac (celery root), dinner rolls, soft pretzels, baklava, and pierogies, and the price was $79 plus a $6 delivery fee for a total charge of $85. Customer service - On the day of my delivery, Harvie texted me to notify me that my delivery would occur around noon, give or take two hours. A delivery person arrived at my house within the delivery window at 12:30 PM. He carried my box of food up my many front steps and politely wished me a happy Thanksgiving. The interior of the box was packaged neatly, and it included a free booklet of recipes. Harvie was supposed to pack pierogies, but they ran out of pierogies, so they will give me a credit toward a future order. Environmental impact - Harvie encourages consumers to return the packaging during their next delivery. Consumers simply break down the cardboard box by unfolding it, remove stickers from the exterior of the box, and place the insulated liner and ice packs on top. Quality of products - The foods from my first order looked very fresh and tasted good. UPDATE ON 12/3/2021: Today my second order from Harvie was delivered to my home. Prior to placing this order online, I noticed that Harvie had not given me the $10 credit for the missing pierogies from my first order. The website said that I had "no credit" and $0 available. I emailed Harvie, and on the next day, an employee emailed me back to apologize and to inform me that she had added the $10 to my account. On the delivery day, an employee picked up my old box and insulated liner (I forgot to put out the old ice packs, but I will do that next time) and put my new boxes of foods near my front door. I wanted to use Harvie to support local businesses without going making many trips. However, the prices for food are far more and I won't renew after my membership expires. I received an item that was expired. I sent a request to their contact stomper service but no response. ( two weeks) I got my weekly order today. Left my packaging out for recycle pickup and it wasn't taken by the delivery person. Just feels like a waste of my time and money. Each week I have to remember to skip my order. If I don't, there will be an expensive package of random items at my house. I am hoping things will improve but I am overall disappointed by the experience. read more

So we have tried to use Harvie for about a year. Its not gone well. We created the membership to support family who are small businesses and have partnered and supply the company. I haven't cancelled. I keep waiting for them to work out problems. I just called last week and was told that a contract fell through for a new warehouse and upgrades. They are working hard to get things fixed. I feel bad because they have the right idea but the execution is just not going well. I hate to quite become I think it's a great idea but it's just not going right. If we could just someone on the phone when there's a problem, we would really like the idea and service. I hate to say this. We have yet to get ONE order correct. Not even one order has arrived seemless We have had entire boxes go missing ones that included an item that's been extremely damaged. Customer service support is beyond frustrating. Which is how we never get refunds for products that are damaged or missing. I believe we got a refund once for a missing order after hours of calls. I keep supporting this company because we know so many small businesses & farms that we are related to, worked with owners, or are friends with the owners, and farm owners. I view this as supporting a business that is trying, and just needs time to get their feeting. But there are just so many issues that we have been told will be fixed, or we are told we will get a refund that never has happened. I just don't know what to think anymore. For example, this week we received Muffins from my former Coworker at St.Stephens. They were water logged and I know if he saw the state we received them, he would be shocked. We have had the muffins multiple times from around the area that I know and love from my roots and this is not the standard that Richard typically presents Willow Bend products. I hope that nobody else received product in like this, especially for a first time. We also got a lemon thrown on top of the other bag that was rotten and moldy. And our butter and bean dip was ruined because it was squashed and outside of the packaging. It just missed the mark for being packaged w care. I think there's potential but it's going to need some time and more work. read more

I really wanted to like this and support local farms but Harvie's prefill feature is beyond obnoxious. They will, without your consent, add whatever they want in your cart and it is up to you to catch it and edit your cart prior to shipping. No thank you! read more

Everyone should know that they will automatically fill your cart with random items, and then automatically charge you for them unless you actively go into your account and delete each item one-by-one from your cart. They claim their customers "love" this "feature" - but it is really just a racket to get money for things that expire soon. Be warned... read more

I've been a loyal Harvie customer for about 2 years now. I love supporting local small businesses and farms, and usually the products are very good, which has kept me coming back despite some delivery and customer service problems, as well as high prices. I've usually been able to get delivery problems addressed, but the responsiveness and efficiency of customer service has been inconsistent. After some recent problems with one of my deliveries, they have made a strong effort to make things right, which I do appreciate. If they had a phone number to call when problems arise, this would be a great improvement. read more

Love the customer service, good quality on everything I have received, love the selection of different items seasonally and things I never would have considered trying. Love the traceability of where your food comes from. Highly recommend. I like the flexibility of using the default add to cart feature like a regular CSA or selecting your own items. I like being able to set preferences so I never get sent things I don't want. read more

Harvie is only two years old, having started as a software company for farmers. They provide fresh, local food to customers and offer farmers and artisans four times more profit than your average grocery store! They continue to grow exponentially and offer their customers a wide range of food. Their customer service is top notch - if something is not right, they'll make it right. I have been a member since August 2022. I love the fresh products they offer. It is especially great during the holidays with lots of unusual products from all over the states as well as England ( candy). I would highly recommend as you can skip a week if you do not need or want. They fill your cart with your preferences but I go in and tweak it by removing items and added items. You are not locked in to any plan. I did buy the membership so I can get free shipping for a year. ( Now you have to have a minimum but it is easy to do and if you don't make it you pay around $3.00 more) I am very happy as a home cook as well as someone who likes to have delicious prepared foods at home as well. read more
