It's $8.99 before taxes through the Harvey's app. I placed this order for takeout: - Angus burger on a multigrain bun - Onion rings - Regular Diet Pepsi I got an estimated time of fifteen minutes. It was perfect, as I was wrapping up an errand a few blocks north of this eatery. I don't normally visit this plaza on the northeast corner of Markham Road and 16th Avenue. Garden Basket anchors it. I had no problem finding this eatery. Booster Juice is next door. This Harvey's does not have a drive-thru. I backed into a parking spot and walked over. There was plenty of parking at around 2 pm. There were places to sit down and eat on either side of the doors. Ahead of me on the right was the fountain machine and a door to the washrooms. On my left, I saw a sign for order pickups. Just what I was looking for! There was a cheerful young woman who greeted me there. I let her know that I had an order and said my first name. She nodded and happily handed over my drink and a bag of food. I loved that my drink had my name on the lid. I thanked her. I then headed to a free table to sit down and have a late lunch. That's the catch with taking advantage of coupons. You either order for delivery or takeout through the app. You can't visit your local Harvey's and show the deal as you are placing the order in-person. It's weird. I'm happy that I can order takeout in advance and then dine in. You simply don't have a tray. The experience is the same. I love the angus burger at Harvey's. It's yummy, especially with the garlic mayo and fresh veggies in my burger. I got onion rings as my side. They were crispy. The onions were naturally sweet. Delicious! I was happy with my Diet Pepsi. It had ice in it and hit the spot on a hot day. Before I left, I did a refill. I also used the washroom. It was a single stall that I used was clean. While the fries are hot and good serving size they had seasoning on it, which means they either had very light salt seasoning or they didn't clean the bin when they put the french fries in it either way they were good and not overly salted so enjoyable. The problem was the A&W root beer. I ordered the diet A&W root beer and it was flat absolutely zero carbonation. I told the employee that and she simply gave me another cup, which is also completely flat without any bubbles. It's amazing that the product the company is named after was the worst part of the meal. The good is they're very few places around here like this open 24 hours a day and the restaurant looks clean. So I hear Harvey's is the "Burger King" of Canada, even though there's a bunch of BKs lying around. And of course, I couldn't spend my last night in Toronto without trying some Canadian fast food. I got the Canadian Angus and topped it with lettuce, tomatoes, pickle and mayo and ketchup. I was disappointed that the bun wasn't toasted but the toppings were all good and the burger wasn't bad. It's easily accessible and has a large parking lot. This location is extremely clean, including the restrooms. There isn't any wifi, though. There are kiosks to place your order, or, you can still order the old fashioned way at the cash. The menu is pretty extensive, with chicken, fish, and breakfast menu items as well. There are also a number of drinks besides fountain drinks, such as coffee, iced coffee, and fruity drinks and milkshakes. They also feature a different price special for each day of the week. They even do catering, with a specially designed menu to order. I went with a Heavy Hitter as a combo. The Heavy Hitter is basically a double burger, complete with double cheese and a standard topping mix of relish, red onion, mustard, tomato, bacon, and best of all, their signature burger sauce. Their burger sauce is what really makes it worth coming to Hero. It's not like the typical Thousand Island flavoured you get eeeeeeverywhere else. This sauce is a little lighter and tangier, with a herby flavour that really cuts the heaviness of a burger. I can barely remember the bacon, but that sauce makes you want to return for more. The patties are 4 ounces each, and nicely cooked. The bun is nice. It's hefty enough to hold up to the two patties and all the toppings, and I enjoyed the mix of sesame and nigella seeds. They have a very extensive choice of toppings, which I wish I had taken the time to go through to customize my burger better. The fries were okay. They keep the skin on and fry them to a good, crispy texture. The salt was almost non-existent, but that was fine, because the burger itself is very well seasoned. They were, however, a little too dry on the inside. Fountain drinks are self-serve style. Of course the drink I wanted, Coke Zero, was the only one not available due to lack of product. The selection isn't that extensive, less than 10 selections total. I don't like Diet Coke anywhere near as much as Zero, so I contented myself with a mix of Classic and Diet. One of my pet peeves is being charged differently (usually more) at the cash than what's displayed on the menu. It's very clearly posted that the burger goes for $13.80, with an additional $5.10 to make a combo. I'm no math genius, but I know $18.90 when that's the sum. For whatever reason, I got charged $19.10 instead before taxes. There isn't even a breakdown on the bill. I couldn't be bothered to address it, but it definitely brings them down in rating overall. Things like ketchup, mustard, onions, pickles, you name it, they have it! You can build your own burger to your liking or of course pick a burger that they've already curated on their menu. To build your own burger you first select your protein. I opted for the 6oz. angus beef on ciabatta bun. There's a huge selection of toppings that you can add on that will cost you extra. Sides like sauces are all free though. The burger was great since it's everything that I wanted. Nice and juicy and so delicious. Made it into a combo with some fries and the fries were also great. I did end up waiting for quite some time though for my food and struggled a little with the kiosks for ordering. But that seems to be a me problem (haha). Overall, a great option for something on the go and if you're craving for a solid burger.
