Working in Montreal for a couple of weeks and it's dinnertime. I usually will head into downtown to…read moreget dinner, but I was feeling lazy this evening so I did some Yelp'ing around what was near me. I found Twister Burger which was didn't have a large amount of ratings, but they had a big menu so I chose them! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right off a pretty wide street that doesn't seem like a main road is this gem. There's no private parking lot so you'll have to park on the street in the neighborhood, but I didn't have a hard time finding space. Once inside you're transported back to like... the 40s? 50s? Whenever the soda fountain era was with the black/white checkered walls, neon lights and the whole thing. Lol. It was cute. The restaurant is fairly small and that's okay! It makes for a more comfortable and cozy feel. I got my food to go so I didn't have to stay long. Service: The gentlemen behind the counter was very helpful and make sure I got everything that I needed. He also helped me since most of the menus are in French. Food: I started off with their Taco Salad, but as of now I don't see it listed on their menu anymore. Anyway, it's basically their now Southwest Salad which contains mixed greens, corn, red onion, avocado, fried tortillas and shredded cheese, served with chipotle ranch. But instead of being in a bowl, it's in a fluffy, crispy taco shell which was very flavorful and enjoyable. It worked well. The name of the place is called Twisted Burger so I had to try at least one of them. I decided on the Trio Diablo Burger which is 130g beef (1/3 lb), jalapeños, monterrey jack cheese, habanero salsa, grilled onion, chipotle mayonnaise and lettuce, and tomatoes. It kinda slid apart in transport, but I was able to put it back together at my hotel room and it was fine. Nothing super crazy or explosive to report. It was a decent burger and satisfied my cravings for sure. The beer-battered onion rings were okay too. Nothing special and I don't think I was expecting anything out of this world either. Most beer-battered onion rings taste the same, so it's good that it's a familiar flavor to recognize. Value: My taco salad was $14.95CAD, my burger was $10.95CAD and my onion rings were $4.95CAD. This is a GREAT DEAL on the amount of food I had for sure. Looking for a cheap date, something quick, nothing fancy, I dig this place for sure.

Gin, tequila, wine, wishky, name it. The food is mainly burger, as the name of the place clearly state, but there's still other stuff like salads. There's a good list of appetizer to choose from that will paire well with your burger. The place have a small outdoor terrasse and a 2 story indoor seating area. But it's small, it will fill up fast. It is not the cheapest burger option. Prepare to pay over 20$ before tax for a small burger and a fries. It can easily goes to 30$ a burger and that's without counting the extra if you swap fries for poutine or other option. The burger themself are very good, and you can even swap the buns for lettuce which is nice when you're cutting carbs. The service on the other hand was very slow. The waitress kept chatting with her friend at the table beside us which made the service pretty non existant. Also, the bathroom are on the second floor and there's no elevator. You also have many stairs to walk up to get in the restaurant.

It's gluten friendly and tonight I ate at the bar. I had a Montréal smoked meat smash burger on lettuce bun with coleslaw. Simply delicious. Did I mention they make the perfect size and shape lettuce buns. The actually look like a bun!

Not much of a description of house burger other than made of veggies and nuts by staff, but tasted great and held its shape. It was quite a mouthful especially with onion ring. Bacon was tasty but got lost in the burger. Wolfed down the burger and poutine. Never had vegan poutine but it hit the spot. Just wished for more cheese curd. Satisfied by burger itch Cookies and cream milk shake. Shake is outstanding. Staff on lunch break. Super young staff all around, kudos. Too sunny and warm to eat outside English menu on flip side Large business party and tables full when I arrived but still seating available. Quaint establishment. I ordered the pulled "pork" sandwich, and the mushrooms and creamy barbecue sauce were delicious! Also upgraded my side to poutine, and good lord was it a lot of food. But so so so good! I got a few desserts to go as well. The blueberry cheesecake muffin was a miss, way to dry, I didn't enjoy it. But the chocolate chip cookie? Yes, please. Next time I'll take two. Overall a great place for quality vegan food at a decent price.

This was our first meal in Montreal and we were nervous about not speaking French but it was not a big deal here. The whole place just had a quiet, friendly vibe. If we lived here this would be "our" usual go-to, I think! The poutine was excellent (and even reheated well the next day!), the fries by themselves excellent, and my daughter said she had the best Caesar salad ever here. My husband enjoyed their burger and I loved their club sandwich. Everything felt fresh and prepared with care. We will definitely return on this trip!
