He became very childish and pushy for me to have the property "showroom ready". He kept mentioning finding a tenant so i " could get out of rent" prior to the end of lease. something I never mentioned, wanted, or asked for. he asked me to pay utilities for a month I wasnt there to allow a new tenant to begin moving in early. He kept my entire double month's rent security deposit (which I now know is illegal to even request -⁠SDCL 43-32-6.1, ) charging me every time he went to look or show the house, an oven rack that was never there, and a month of rent that he already had a new tenant paying rent for and on a lease at the same property. Called…read moretwo local companies, BHF came out right away and did some measuring and suggested I do as much as I can to get the old unit out before ordering a new unit as it was going into a corner and it would help greatly if they could see what was behind the angled wall. I did that. The second company finally sent someone out to look. He looked, and looked and looked. Wrote down a lot of stuff and NEVER got back to me. In the meantime BHF came out again (for free) and this time had enough info to order a unit. When it came in they came out, removed the old unit completely, redid the gas line and electrical, even installed an outlet close to the new fireplace for a CO and smoke detector. They did it all without having to remove an existing mantle and big screen TV! They finished it right down to the drywall. I was able to do the mud and tape and put Airstone around the insert so it looks really good. Still have not heard back from the other place.
