Since we're in Bradenton, I'm figuring that many folks may be coming here looking for a physician for an elderly family member. If that's the case, you've found your man. We were looking for a physician for my grandmother when we moved here, and heard about Dr. Marciales. Since then (about three years ago), we've found him to be patient, caring, compassionate, competent, and extremely experienced caring for the elderly. He takes the time to discuss with both patient and family, and is always available and attentive. His staff is great as well. Last but not least, I should add that being a healthcare professional myself, this is not an easy review to get from me. Dr. Marciales is as good as it gets here in Bradenton.

She also made sure to discuss every aspect of life with me that would affect my health; such as diet, stress, excercise, family history, and overall well being. She has also given me excellent referrals and worked with my insurance companies to make sure that my preventative care is covered. Sometimes her office staff and nurses can be pushy or rude, since she is in a shared office complex with other doctors.

We are so lucky that he has decided to be a primary care , concierge physician now along with gastroenterology! I had my first primary care appointment on Tuesday with him and I feel like I saw 4 specialists. So grateful to Madison too , his medical assistant,for her positivity and sweetness. Doctor K is always available if you have problems- very important to me at age 67. Try him for a month and see what I mean about his insight , understanding, caring and mirth. I paid $400 for what was scheduled as a 30-minute appointment, but my actual time with Dr. Porter was less than 15 minutes. During that brief visit, she ordered lab work, which I had drawn in the office for an additional $50. When I later called the office to get the results of those tests, I was told that I would need to schedule another appointment--and pay another $400--to have the results reviewed with me. During that same call, I asked to speak with the office manager because I felt I was essentially being charged twice to complete what I considered one episode of care, particularly since the initial $400 appointment had been so brief. I explained my concern and asked whether an exception could be made this time. I also explained that, going forward, I would gladly have my labs drawn before my appointment so the results could be discussed during the 30 minutes I was already paying for. Unfortunately, I found the office manager's response to be curt and dismissive. She stated that this was the office policy. I then asked if she would please take my concern to Dr. Porter for reconsideration, as Dr. Porter would recall how brief our appointment had been. The office manager agreed to do so but indicated that the answer would most likely be the same. She called me back the following day and confirmed that Dr. Porter would still require me to schedule and pay $400 for another appointment to review the results. I understand that every medical practice has its policies and fee structure, and I have no issue paying a premium for personalized, high-quality care. What disappointed me was paying $400 for a 30-minute appointment that lasted less than half that time and then being required to pay another $400 to discuss the resulting lab work, with no flexibility when I raised what I felt was a reasonable concern. After several years as a patient, I expected a more patient-centered response. Unfortunately, this experience changed my perception of the practice and ultimately resulted in my decision to seek care elsewhere.

Therefore could not have the test done after all that fighting. I had to end up going to urgent care and spending more money because they simply could not do their job at first physicians, not him nor front desk staff. I would not recommend going to him or First Physician's or you will likely have horrible added unnecessary stress on top of your illness instead of actual help and care. You should not have to fight that hard to advocate for yourself with the right Dr.
