I am no white goods and furniture expert, but given that they also stock second-hand goods here, you are likely to come across a bargain if you keep your wits about you. They do quotes over the phone and delivery seven days a week, with considerably less rigamarole than you'll get when dealing with a bigger chain store. They also offer services and repairs, and interest free layby. WOO!

I ordered a new PC case, which arrived as expected, but turned out to have a manufacturing defect…read moreand thus was DOA. I emailed their support pictures of it, and followed up twice more in the coming days but never heard back. Eventually I had to call them, and they said that they could not just replace the part that was damaged - which was considered a spare part - but that I would have to return the whole thing, and it would take two to four weeks to be assessed and replaced. I told them this was not not be suitable, so instead would like a refund, but was then told that they could not guarantee a refund. Having looked into it, I found I was within my rights to receive a refund, so called them back and arranged the return. At first even though it was an online order, they wanted me to drive (3 hours) to the nearest store to return it, but I made it clear I was not going to do that, and they seemingly begrudgingly agreed to generate a return label. Whilst I was thanking them for their help, they were monotone and unenthused the entire time. They also said that they can put a request in for the refund, but it may still take a number of weeks. This also does not align with Australian Consumer Law. I won't be buying from MSY / Umart again, and would encourage others to note how poor their online reviews are now. I didn't check, as I know previously they were a good company, but I did not notice Umart had acquired them.

Yes it is just another chain store full of stuff you don't need but I am in a love/hate relationship with this Kmart. The layout is clever. Bloody annoying and sneaky like IKEA - but gosh it's clever. - You can't see over any isle so you have to hunt through the maze of gigantic displays. - They put women's bargain clothing (tops starting at $4) at the entrance. Bright colourful displays that make you think "yes I should start wearing more of this tangerine or fluoro blue in my life." - The store is also double storey so you feel like you are in a luxurious department store that has bargain basement prices. And finally the prices are amazing. You know that when you buy a $4 t-shirt it will last you one season and be 2 sizes bigger after a couple of washes. But hey what the hell it's only $4 right? Consumerism at its best. It is also refreshing to see a good homewares and toy store based in the mall with a really good range of items - something I was complaining about as I trawled the mall just 2 months ago unsuccessfully looking for a present for a 3 year old. Well done Kmart your rebrand is bringing you back into the naughties...you're so bad, it's good.

Kmart has gone downhill in quality with some items and have stopped stocking a few decent brands…read morewhich is quite disappointing and sell poor quality footwear which falls apart quickly. the reason why I have given this review 2 stars is because the boys clothes are quite thick and are probably thicker than big w clothes. what I was pretty impressed about is the boys 7-16 flannelette shirts I bought today were $6.50 each and I bought two of them for $13.00 and in bigw they were $12 each and the material was thinner than the ones in Kmart. what a bargain! but I do avoid buying footwear. pros: Clothes are still of decent quality and very low , affordable prices and some bargains waiting for you. cons: bad quality footwear that falls apart after a wear, tinsel that sheds bits and not many different brands to choose from.

However this is my first visit to this one and the staff were so helpful, knowledgable and friendly that I thought it worth a plug! They were proactive and good humoured as well as giving good advice. The store is well air conditioned and laid out with plenty of space. It could have had a bigger range of specialty printing papers, but that is area of interest, so it's more of a hope on my part than a deficiency. Sausage sizzle out the front, easy parking, close to town and next to a massive Salvos. Lots going for it! Did I mention it sells stationery? ;-)

The broad range not only encompasses stationary, computer gear, random gifts and office furniture but they even have snacks - for when you're studying, of course. A word of warning though; do not, under any circumstances, no matter how desperate for stationary you are, visit during the last week of any given school holidays. You have been warned, by someone who made this mistake and only barely survived with all limbs in tact.

For new release cds and vinyl, you really can't beat their prices and this is normally my first stop for anything new. The store is so well set out that I commonly find what I'm looking for without having to ask, even then the service is fantastic and the staff are some of the most helpful I've come across in any JB Hi-Fi store. One guy even managed to track down a re-issue of Neil Young's 'Harvest' for me on vinyl at a drastically lower price than what I was going to pay for it online. Needless to say I was impressed and some form of order was restored to me in that retail businesses still do offer better services than online retailers in some cases! It'd almost be considered criminal for me not to visit this JB Hi-Fi when I'm at Marion. The best JB in South Australia in my opinion. Visiting often is a necessity!

Also, the staff actually have a clue what their section is on about and have even been known to do excellent, almost wholesale prices to grab your sale. This is especially so when purchasing big-ticket items like my Dj decks. They also have an excellent range of cds, dvds and blue-ray and good prices and sales (for the retail sector). Don't be intimidated by the burly security guard and the alarm gates at the storefront, but maybe don't try to steal anything either. In a nutshell - entertainment city!

Stocking all your office, school and work needs, the Marion branch is just as big as the others with a more extensive electronics department. Printers, paper, pens, scrapbooks, Minties...you name it and Officeworks will have it. Staff in store can be sparsely populated but are generally quite knowledgeable and if they aren't too sure will find someone who can help. The store also runs workshops on the weekend catering to small business owners. Prices are quite cheap and parking is a breeze.

While everything is laid out well, it is still quite intimidating when you enter the store. The aisles on the left are labelled, which is handy. Since I went on a Monday evening, there were a lot of staff on hand to help me out. Saying that, what is listed on the website is not necessarily what is in store ... so I had to improvise. They now have an aisle of upmarket fancy desk accessories, probably to rival Kikki K and to some extent Smiggle (in the fact that they are colour coded) - very nice! I will definitely have to come here again ;) On the right hand side of the store is all the electrical and office equipment - this seems easy to negotiate, and again there were plenty of staff here to help out customers. DJ's: an endangered species from the mono-lithic period where shopping for couture pieces and…read morespending 3 hours on a Sunday in one air-conditioned department store was "a done thing." Lost in the wilderness, this department store has quickly dwindled in life and breadth of product thanks to encroaching online shopping and competitive, low cost, reasonable quality department stores capturing their consumers. You can still find the rare brand name watch, pair of shoes on sale or makeup in store at a fair price and I love still wandering through the powder puff girls and clouds of perfume on the ground floor (where else can you get such an experience). However, the range, value and poor internal workings of the place mean that it is becoming a forgotten species. This DJs in particular has lost its way, shutting down their fine dining food court and imported produce section and putting on about 1 staff member for every 100 customers so you can never find a damn sales person when you need one (or they have no interest in serving you). Displays are cluttered and floors have been crammed with so many brands you can get in their original outlets or stores that the quality and health of the David Jones "premium brand department store" is lost. The only way I can see this species being brought back from near extinction is to re-instate and connect a fine dining food court to DJ's, add in fancy change rooms, high quality service, cut half their range so high end brands (that you can't get anywhere else) are available to touch and feel and completely refit the place to feel like one of those luxe shopping centres you get in Harrods, Dubai or HK. I hope to see the "day of old" department store return, but first it has to lift it's game.

Wow, I'm really going to go against the tide of popular opinion here but I just have to say it …read more.. David Jones just ain't what it used to be! While the service is ok and the products are alright, I think it's a sad indictment on what we see as good service these days when we expect dodgy service and are almost surprised when we don't receive it. I will admit the service is better than what you'll get in many places but I have a couple of really bad DJ's experiences. I have stood in the electrical department for longer than 30 minutes on two separate occasions waiting for someone to take my money so I could take home a new plasma tv. One guy approached me and told me he didn't deal with the particular brand I was after so he'd get someone else to help me. No-one came! A tip for you ... David Jones will price match so don't be fooled by the fact they seem more expensive than other places. They are as keen to make a sale as the next guy. Apologies for being a negative Nora but I just felt this page needed some balance.
